What’s a vintage loose Yak Face go for these days?

What’s the going rate for a loose Yak Face in afa80 condition? I know this guy has been going up in price at a steady rate.
Wanted: Jawa sample proofs,a textured cape Leia, and any Boushh proofs. I'm also currently looking for a 21 ESB back Leia Organa proof. I have cash and many great trade items!

    I'd say somewhere near $350-ish.

I seen ungraded for the 350 ish, but graded has been higher. Close to 500 was the last one I watched any way.

Why so high all of a sudden?

Wow, Yak prices sound really crazy right now! Wonder if it has anything to do with the barge...

Ones without a discolored torso and no paint wear on his boots or hands have been going for significantly more for a while now.

Good question. Part of me believes shill bidding can be a part of it, but also, it could just be that people really want this figure. Graded 80 to 85 Yacs go pretty high. Ungraded are much more price friendly . I have seen them for 225-250 up to 300 ish.

Really not sure where everyone is finding all of their deals. Perhaps they are FB prices. Sure, even on eBay you can get a lower-priced figures due to a few factors (sellers with low ratings, listings worded incorrectly, extremely patient, etc.). People come here with lots/groups of asking for prices, and even if the figures are in great condition and complete, everyone says they are all mostly $5 -10 figures. People always post that most figures can be found for around $10. This simply is not true anymore. Even figures that receive little to no love are going for a lot more these days. Heck, even the lowly Rancor Keeper (a figure and character I love, BTW) sells for $20 - 25 these days! Nearly everyone has the idea that only certain figures have risen in value and it is not the case. I feel a little "Alex-y" right now, but I swear, I do not keep a database!

I've been watching Yak Face for quite some time as it is the only figure I need and want one in as near-to-perfect condition as possible. They very rarely go below $300, especially for one in great condition. Really bad beaters are the ones that sell for less than $300. Here are some examples, and all of them are actually in pretty bad shape:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yak-Face-3-...p2047675.l2557

If someone has a Yak in great (NM/M) condition for $300, please sell it to me now!

    (sorry for bein' a hijacker)

I have to agree with you, I completed my main set a few years back and at the time that $10 to $15 was true, but now that seems to be the beater price and even “common figures” seem to be $25 or more.

It's all about condition and true assessment of condition really. I've seen many ungraded loose/complete with sellers claiming NM or "mint" in the $250 - $300 range, but torso discoloration or noticeable paint wear is the norm for most. I've seen truly mint Yaks hitting $400 even in some FB groups and I recently saw a AFA 90 go for $800! So yes, prices are high but as a result it's bringing a lot more product to the secondary marketplace and allowing for buyers to be more selective. There are deals to be had, especially on FB, but you gotta be quick on the draw. As for average prices on loose/complete, FB groups still see $12-$25 average for most common figures in good NM condition, with the exception being some hero characters, especially those with a lot of white (i.e. Luke, Leia & stormies), because discoloration is really setting in with age. Just my $.02 cents.
