Canít believe this March 4 will be 25 years since he passed away. I loved him on SCTV. The Great Outdoors is still one of my favorite movies.

John Candy was in some of the most underrated comedy movies of all time. His filmography is amazing and yet many people probably haven't seen most of them. I think most of his stuff would resonate with young people today still too. I listed a few below and yes I got them looking at IMDB, but I have seen all of these and they're just fun funny stuff.

    The ones people know:
The Blues Brothers with Belushi and Ackroyd, Stripes with Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, Nat. Lampoon's Vacation with Chevy Chase, Splash with Tom Hanks, Brewster's Millions with Richard Pryor, Armed and Dangerous with Eugene Levy, Spaceballs..., Plains-Trains-and Automobiles with Steve Martin, Little Shop of Horrors with Rick Moranis, The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Home Alone (short cameo but funny)

1941 with Toshiro Mifune, Christopher Lee, Ackroyd, Belushi
Going Berserk with a whole bunch of SCTV alum
Summer Rental one of his weaker ones really, but still funny
Hot to Trot with Bobcat Goldthwait
Who's Harry Crumb? - Perhaps the most underrated of all his stuff. Seriously... turn your brain off and watch this.
Only the Lonely - more subtle but good

It's a shame he didn't get in more stuff in the 90's but somehow most of his weakest stuff was late in his career.

Nothing But Trouble is one of the worst movies I've ever seen and with the cast it had (John Candy, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Demi Moore... ) not sure how they made this stinker.

A Legend in his time and will always be sadly missed. My 1st memory of John Candy has to be the part from Blues Brothers... watching him on the screen made me research who he was and I immediately wanted more.

I think my favorite John Candy movie is Summer Rental. He plays the part perfectly of a frustrated father trying to be the best he can be and give his family a great vacation even though disaster seems to follow his every step. It's comedic gold watching John on the big screen.
Longing for the Good Old Kenner Days where SW Figures were in great supply and everyone was able to find their favorite characters etc..... Hasbro you need to follow this example ! Twitter: @SWChamp
