What Plot Lines Did TLJ Use From the Original Movies?

In the prequels Anakin wanted to join forces with Padme to rule galaxy and bring piece after he joined the dark side. When he is rejected he grows even more angry. This is very similar to the story from TLJ in which Kylo Ren tells Rey that he wants to join forces with her to rule the galaxy and bring piece.

Any other elements taken from the original movies?

there's one mentioned in the opening crawl.

    "Episode VIII

"The FIRST ORDER reigns. Having decimated the peaceful Republic, Supreme Leader Snoke now deploys his merciless legions to seize military control of the galaxy.
uhm.. waitaminute. if the first order "Reigns" then why would they trying to "seize" military control of the galaxy? that doesn't fit with the definition or "Reigns" -- seize it from whom? does this mean somebody ELSE has military control of the galaxy!? who are they seizing it FROM? don't they already HAVE control of the galaxy? isn't that what "Reigns" already means? if they already "Reign", then why would they need to "seize control" of the Reigns?? who wrote this stuff? is the whole movie gonna be like this? what the fuck am I watching right now? the movie has only just started and already its not looking good for migraines... but ok... whatever.. nevermind.. moving on.. moving on..

"Only General Leia Organa’s band of RESISTANCE [?Rebel?] fighters stand against the rising tyranny, certain that Jedi Master Luke Skywalker [?Obi-Wan Kenobi?] will return and restore a spark of hope to the fight. But

hmm.. that sounds hauntingly familiar.. "Help Me Obi-Wan [Skywalker].. you're my only.." NOPE. that's not it. it's something more specific.. something to do with...

the Resistance has been exposed. As the First Order speeds toward the rebel base, the brave heroes mount a desperate escape...."
^^ah THERE it is. the rebel base. (hoth). mentioned DIRECTLY in the opening crawl. (no, I did NOT edit those words, it ACTUALLY says "rebel base" not "resistance"), and "brave heroes mounting desperate escape" etc.

^^ this is the opening act of Empire Strikes Back.

A young Jedi wannabe travels to a remote planet to seek out a long lost Jedi master in order to obtain knowledge and training. The Jedi master turns out to be nothing like expected and while initially reluctant to train the young apprentice, eventually has a change of heart. Young apprentice has a short, but effective training period before discovering through a vision that friends are in danger. Ignoring the cryptic warnings of the master the young apprentice impulsively speeds off to rescue the endangered and face the evil dark lord. This is where the parallels end however, as the young male apprentice gets beaten to the point of only narrowly escaping death at the hands of the dark lord and learns a terrible truth about his past as well as a valuable lesson about being impatient and impetuous. The female apprentice on the other hand inexplicably kicks some serious *** (therefore learning nothing) and saves the day because girls are awesome and boys are toxic.
