Thread: Help to identify Star War Chewbacca baggie

Question Help to identify Star War Chewbacca baggie

I'm looking for help to identify an action figure Star Wars Kenner Chewbacca in baggie.

The inscriptions on the legs are (see image):
    (C) GMFGL 1977
    HONG KONG

There is no inscription on the baggie.

The baggie seems to match the baggie of the early bird (see https://powerofthetoys.com/2012/10/new-baggies/).

The handle of the weapon is also squared like the early bird version (see https://forum.rebelscum.com/showthread.php?t=911058 ).

Is it a figurine of the early bird or another? Can you help me identify it? Do you have any idea of the rarity and the value?

Here are some pictures of my figure:

Thank you all in advance for your help

That bandolier looks like its more than 50% worn off...I would suspect this is a rebagged figure and the rebagger didnt even bother with finding a mintier figure to try to fool people with

...or somebody was just trying to protect it by bagging it themselves with no intention of passing it off as a kenner baggie

While I agree it looks possibly suspect, if you look the baggie itself there is white paint on it.

    Thank you for the information.

I bought a lot of figures. The majority is in loose condition. But they are a Chewbecca and a Boba Fett in baggies. The seller had no ideas of the origin of these figures in baggies.

For info, he has no white paint on the baggie, it's the reflection of the light when I take picture.

I had hoped to find a rare piece in this lot ...

Spot on. I thought the figure look pretty rough to be a legit kenner bagged figure.
