I wasn't collecting during the entire 2002-2015 era and don't have an original to compare mine to, BUT I have to say that this figure is just outstanding!

From pictures, so, so many of the Sandtroopers Hasbro has put out are almost "superweathered", looking more like they just escaped from quicksand or the Dagobah swamp than endured some sandblasting on Tatooine. But this release has a nice warm, golden look to it that seems really authentic and believable as a desert effect to me. I loved my POTF2 Sandtrooper as a kid (and still do, TBH) but this one just kicks butt.

Have three of them now. I decided to take the pauldron off of one to give him some more flavor. Also, has anyone noticed this figure is left handed?
Hasbro, if you're listening, REBEL PILOT MULTIPACK! Rogue One: Antoc Merrick, Blue Leader. A New Hope: Theron Nett, Red 10. Empire Strikes Back: Rogue 4, Hobbie Klivian Snowspeeder. Return of the Jedi: Horten Salm, Gray Leader. All easy kitbashes, all unique, a guaranteed best seller.

Makes sense. Many of the Stormtroopers in the original film were left handed.
Don't hit me with them negative waves so early in the morning

All the 3.75 super articulated Stormtroopers were made left handed cause they all use those same hands.
    Want:
Black Series 6" Tie Fighter Pilot (not the TFA one)

I know, I always found the abundance of lefties in ANH to be a little odd.

Well if this is to be believed, could be why:

However I don't think it was adhered to so much on the Special Editions.

I've always heard it was the design of the prop, where the ammo pack (the rectangle sticking out of the side) was on the left side of the gun and when handled in the right hand it banged against the ABS costumes around the buttons on the body bucket/stomache. So to avoid this they held it in the left had so the ammo pack is protruding out away from the body instead of poking in.
Co-host of 3 guys talking Star Wars toys at Kesel Run Collecting

always buying SA imp army builders, even beaters for a decent price.
