Thread: Deathtrooper Specialist

Great looking figure. I'm glad there will be a Death Trooper in the main line. A definite buy for me, as long as I can find it.

They did. It's almost unrecognisable but that's what he's holding there.
Don't hit me with them negative waves so early in the morning

For some reason, the slight green color on the black helmet works really well; great color combination here.

These guys are all so lean and tall I almost wonder if they are a different species.

So, I just gotta ask the question... What makes a stormtrooper a 'deathtrooper' (I mean, BESIDES the bad-ash black armor)?

No, seriously, can someone take a pic of the cardback, and tell me what makes a deathtrooper any more deadly than
a stormtrooper? Did they get their black duds by actually passing blaster rifle marksmanship at stormtrooper school? (Boy, Im REALLY deadly now).
Did the stormtroopers, after torching OWEN and BERU's hut, have to call in the DEATH TROOPERS just to have the old farts killed? (Hmm, on second thought, maybe it was the flametroopers. They're somewhat deadly too, I think)

Anyway, Im curious to know what makes these guys supposedly different. Seems like kind of a silly name to me.

nobody knows untile the film comes out. I don't think its a silly name, they are named after the Empires battle station! Seems like a sensible name to me.
Most wanted figures: Vedain, Luke Bespin (Beatup version), Fozec, Taym Dren Garen, Sim Aloo

Ahh, I never considered that. Death (STAR) Trooper. That was the clue I needed.

-Wolf (but I still think it's a silly name)

well a few short years ago death trooper ment something entirely different, they were zombie stormtroopers basicly. I'm still trying to get use to the change. Also I keep wanting to call them Shadow Troopers instead of Death Troopers

From what I've read, they are a particular branch of Imperial Intelligence, and assigned to Krennic only, so that would explain why we don't see them in the OT films.

That would be a good explanation. I don't mind films set during the OT era & am even looking forward to R1 much more than TFA. That being said, I don't necessarily like retroactively shoe-horning in characters, vehicles, etc. in these films - that weren't previously seen in the OT - unless there's a plausible explanation for this.
