Hey,

I was wondering if you could help me with gift ideas ... for a baby !
I happen to have a 4 month old padawan, and even if I'm not really going to SW-brainwash him ("Starwash" ?), I'd like to ... you know ... give him hints for the future, so we have a common ground to come back to when he's a rebellious teenager http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm thinking of

SW plushes (here (http://www.toyglobe.com/SWPlush.php) , here (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/9405/) and and here (http://cargobay.starwars.com/webapps/cargobay/item-detail/12323/9812))
They have to be suitable for babies of course (no loose buttons to swallow, etc ...)
Cross-stitch
I am going to do that myself ... I'm not sure of the theme yet, but R2, Yoda or a Jawa are on my primary list).
I will post photos of my productions here !
SW hand puppets
Do they even exist ? I'm fantasizing (is that a word ?) about a set of Luke/Vader/Solo/Leia/Chewie/ObiWan hand puppets to reenact ANH in front of a very young (and puzzled for sure) audience ...
Heh ... I do the tauntaun's gnawing sounds myself sometimes ... I can't be more ridiculous can I ? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

So ... any ideas ?

Okay, so....

I think you should also get him a Star Wars bib, some Star Wars t-shirts, and of course at least one (http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/product.xml?product_id=405266) or two (http://www.amazon.com/Infant-Baby-Chewbacca-Costume-Months/dp/B000J4JT5O/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1196023744&sr=1-8) costumes.

And then there's stuff for eating (http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Star-Wars-Feeding/dp/B000K4YSWC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1196023744&sr=1-2) and drinking (http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Star-Wars-Insulated/dp/B000K50L4K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1196023744&sr=1-1) .

If you can find some Star Wars booties (baby shoes), those would be cute as well.

And then of course, there's always this (http://www.thingamababy.com/baby/2007/06/atatstroller.html).

I'll be back with more suggestions in a second.

And yes, fantasizing is a word. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Okay, more ideas coming your way! I hope eBay items are okay; you could probably find them elsewhere, but this will give you a good starting point.

A pillowcase (http://cgi.ebay.com/Toddler-Pillow-Pillowcase-Set-STAR-WARS-1-NEW_W0QQitemZ230194239396QQihZ013QQcategoryZ32868Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).
A blankie (http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-WARS-BABY-CHILD-SILKIE-BLANKET-BUY-1-GET-1-FREE_W0QQitemZ200174451128QQihZ010QQcategoryZ3081Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).
A bodysuit (http://www.cafepress.com/buy/star+wars/-/pv_design_prod/p_storeid.93140650/pNo_93140650/id_16328413/opt_/pg_/c_/fpt_) .
I know I've already mentioned cups, but here's (http://cgi.ebay.com/NIP-STAR-WARS-First-Years-10oz-Straw-Sippy-Cups-3pk_W0QQitemZ280175286391QQihZ018QQcategoryZ117387 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) a nice sippy cup.
A four piece bedding set (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4245663).

OMG ... I had no idea the baby market was so well covered (and yet it was so obvious)

I already saw the AT-AT stroller ... it really is amazing (and the T-47 mobile is such a wonderful final touch !), but I'm not sure I'm ready for that ...

The red Vader eating set might be just a little tiny bit scary ... but the Yoda toddler costume is so good ! If only thre was a jawa one !

Thank you soooo much Master Rawas for those wonderful (and a little bit "You will be a fan, my son") ideas !

(PS: I'm seeing as I write that you posted something else right now ! I'm going to need a bigger Christmas stocking !)

How about a Star Wars night light (http://www.amazon.com/Idea-Nuova-K330170-Night-Light/dp/B000NNDB1Y/ref=pd_sxp_f_i)? That might be a little scary, though, now that I think about it. Oh well, you know what Grand Moff Tarkin says:

Fear will keep the local babies safe at night.

I don't know about a costume, but how about making your own Jawa statue (http://www.angelfire.com/il2/TB312/Jawa/welcome.html)? It looks complicated but doable.

And, on the off chance that you want to rot your baby's teeth, give them this (http://www.sugarstand.com/pez/pez104287-chewbacca-giant-pez-dispenser.htm) at some point.

Ok, I'm now officially going to raise a SW-obsessed nerd http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Come on, honestly, how can one resist to SW beddings and pijamas (I know I can't ... I actually have two ROTS jammies, one with Vader's glowing LS, the other with those plastic thingies where two images morph one into another ... it's an Anakin/Vader one of course http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

Oh man! That StormPooper outfit was awesome! I might have to get that just in case I have another kid!

Didn't they have bibs at C4?

They certainly did! I considered buying one for a friend of mine who eats so sloppily, I called him Jabba the Hutt once. But then I realized that I like my face the way it is -- intact. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

How can I add to Rawas's extensive list? I'll only show you my 5-month old youngling's favorite SW toy:

(It's a Burger King mini plush, by the way)

Awwww! He (um, or she) looks just like you! (And I don't mean your avatar!)
How can I compete with that? Here's my little Aayla's favorite. (Not recommended to open until they're a little older though) http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif I suggest more of a plushie for the youngsters.

How could you resist a figure of yourself?

Adorable baby girl, Shua! Let me just say that my son (yes, he's a boy) isn't called "Chewie", in case anybody was wondering, his name is Sergio. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's a link (http://www.starwars.com/kids/activity/crafts/archive.html) to the Star Wars Kids.com list of Activities. There's a couple of sock puppets and some other fun stuff you can do once your Padawan has a little more training http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Named after the infamouse Sergio AragonÚs? The world's fastest cartoonist? Because if so, i'm going to meet him at Comic-Con, and would be more than happy to get an autograph for your little sergio. Of course, if he's not named after Sergio AragonÚs, it's still an awesome name!

Also, JediShua, you really named your kid Aayla? That is amazing!

You can find Shua's story here (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=forcecast&Number=2659279&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1).

I didn't really name my baby after the great Sergio AragonÚs, but he is a very cool guy. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif (and, he's mexican like me!)

That is cool indeed ! She should just stay away from giant flowers planets !

In fact, the young padawan who's been sharing our adventures for four months now is called Darrel Anakin ...
(Anakin being such an obviously known name, we placed it in second position, meaning it will not be used that much ... but still !)
I'll try to warn him about outer rim races, apparently benevolent chancelors and lava covered worlds too !

Darrel Anakin?! Very cool!
While I'd like to meet you someday, Satka, I think I might want to keep my young Aayla away from D. Anakin. Nothing personal, she just gets a little skittish whenever she hears the number 66. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks Dex1138 ... it's been a long time since I went to check the SW Kids area !
They have some good stuff (and some a little too simple to my taste), but the Ithorian sock puppet is nice !

There is a lot of great kid stuff out there though it looks like MasterRawas and the rest of the gang already got you hooked up with the links. Cafepress.com has been my go to site. It is amazing how much is out there.
