Well, something like was bound to happen...the last PF that I need to complete my collection (Grievous) was shipped 2 weeks ago from USPS, and there's no sign of him. Needless to say I'm a little pissed off at the post office right now. I've been in touch with my Ebay seller, who's been really cool working with me on it, so hopefully I'll see something in the next few days after the holiday weekend. Has anyone ever had a similar experience? I'm hoping it jsut got held up somewhere in between and will be coming shortly, but I'm losing hope fast...I find it hard to believe the postal service could just lose a box that so HUGE! Idiots.... http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

This is yet another reason why I have switched to UPS. They offer free tracking and the 1st $100.00 insurance is FREE, too.

The USPS raised it's already shoddy rates and they don't offer tracking of any kind. Just Delivery Confirmation. Oh, and the USPS does NOT, repeat DOES NOT, honor their insurance on packages like they claim. You must prove whatever value you claim the item is worth before they will consider coughing up the $$$. So how do you prove something is worth X amount if there is no receipt and all?
Their insurance is a farce. They should clearly state the terms of their policy BEFORE allowing you to "purchase" their insurance.
If you do buy anything and have it insured through the USPS, make damn sure there is a receipt in that box and rub their faces in it.
I have seen one fellow buy a vintage SW figure, have it mangled in transit and have the USPS refuse to pay the valued amount. All because the sticker had a price point from the 1980s on it. A sticker over 20 years old and all the USPS would do is cough up $2.99.
What a joke.
Sorry, I didn't mean to heist your post. But the USPS is a joke.
Look at BBTS.com and you'll see they feel the same way. They ship via UPS nowadays.

Did the seller use Priority or First Class shipping, if it's first class i've had big boxes take up to 3 weeks to get to me.

Also, just recently, i had a big box USPS go back to the seller after 3 weeks with no explaination, sucks but preferable to the item being lost. 2nd try on the delivery showed up in 7 days......go figure..

It was Parcel Post, so maybe they're just taking their sweet time with it... http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hopefully it was not sent Parcel Post. Never ever send anything Parcel Post, I've had too many horror stories happen to me and really really late package deliveries.

If it was sent parcel post, give it some more time.

I guess it makes sense that because it's a large package, it would take more time to get here. If it doesn't show up a week from now though, I'll have to have a word with the post office...there's no way I'm getting screwed out of this one. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I shipped a printer I sold on ebay to the buyer clear back in March and it has yet to be delivered. I had to refund the buyer the full amount and eat my losses.

I suggest you open up an investigation ASAP with USPS.

Wow, I'm very sorry to hear about that. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I can sort of empathize with your situation quite some time ago, I ordered the Sideshow Jabba's Throne Environment from a seller on eBay. The seller sent the item via FedEx ground...and wouldn't you know, FedEx managed to misplace the package (I had a great deal of difficulty accepting the fact that they could easily lose track of a gargantuan, 30 lbs. + item, but no matter). I then proceeded to engage in a rather wearisome correspondence with FedEx in an attempt to recover the cost of the item; not surprisingly, a number of mishaps ensued, which only exacerbated my feelings of frustration.

To make a long story short, a couple of months after this debacle had initially occurred (and I still hadn't been reimbursed) when I had all but given up hope - a FedEx courier came unannounced to my door and delivered the Throne Environment (to my amazement, it was in immaculate condition).

I know that situations like the one you have described are endlessly vexing, but don't give up hope; there is always the possibility that your item will arrive when you least expect it.

(As a side-note, I too have a laundry list of issues with USPS, but I'll save that for another time; I've rambled on enough as it is).

Well, just thought I'd offer you guys an update on the crappy situation. My seller offered to give me a refund, and then file the insurance claim himself, so I'll probably take him up on that. I'm still holding out hope that Grievous will show up one day. I've heard of packages being sent, then showing up a month or two later.

It just sucks because I paid RETAIL for Grievous, and I know I'll probably never find the exclusive version (which is the only version I'll get) for that cheap again... http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Once again, I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I mean, it's great that you will be able to get a refund, but obviously you'd rather have the Exclusive PF Grievous, so that part is unfortunate.

As I said earlier, don't give up hope. On one occasion, USPS misplaced a package containing a Master Replicas item that I had purchased off of eBay; needless to say, I was upset and requested that USPS begin an investigation into the matter, which they did. Now, I've seen glaciers that move faster than USPS (at least when it comes to investigations and subsequent insurance issues), so you can imagine my amazement when, about a month-and-a-half later, the "missing" item suddenly arrived unannounced at my doorstep (obviously, I was relieved). Go figure.

In any case, I hope your situation works out for the best. Good luck.

To be honest fellas I have never had an issue with USPS. I ALWAYS ship Priority 2 day with delivery confirmation. I never use any of their other services. I always seem to have issues with Fed-X and UPS.

I really hope your stuff arrives for you my friend... I cant imagine a pinnacle piece like this disappearing on me... I would cry like a little girl who just got their icecream stolen. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Tow issues with this:
1. How the heck do you LOSE an item as HUGE as Sideshow Grievous?
2. Why on Earth would this be sent parcel post? Spend a few more bucks for an investment like this...

How about some follow-up. Did it ever show up? Did you get your money back? Discuss...

Packages that are insured and can be tracked is the only way. Till now I have lost 3 small packages (2 SW, 1 non-SW) years ago and since then airmail insured packages is the ONLY way I send/receive packages. Most of insured packages can be traced online on USPS, UPS, EMS DHL etc sites.

I have the similar situation with PF Obi Wan,the only difference is that mine was shipped express mail international-insured and trackable...the box left the US on June20,and since then no new info available..the seller did the inquiry and we're waiting 8 days for the answer from the Croatian post..nothing so far http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif
What happened with your Grievous???

I too almost lost a small package (usually the small ones), but it was resent to the shipper and he resent it to me for free. USPS can blow at times, but I think it's due to their newb workers.

All the delivery companies scare me. USPS used to be cheap, but their rates got insane over the past year. It's CHEAPER to use UPS and FedEx in almost all cases. The only time USPS is cheaper is if it's a very light item and small (e.g. letters)

I was a big fan of UPS up until a few weeks ago. I sold a concert ticket on Ebay since a friend bailed on me. I was going to mail it USPS, but then I figured UPS would do a better job handling it. I even put it in a nice sturdy box so it'd get their safe and sound. Silly me. I got a delivery exception saying the delivery guy crushed it and the merchandise was lost. No biggy, right? I apologize to the buyer for the fiasco, refund him his money, and then file a damage claim with UPS. Well, long story short, UPS claims they're not responsible because it falls under their "articles of unusual value" clause in the tariff/terms of service. Technically, they're not even supposed to accept these items for delivery, but we all know how that goes.

Do a search on that one. You guys will love it. lol. It's basically a catch all. Generally, it's supposed to be for things like gift cards, printed materials, or items over $50k, but there's also wording in there that says it's at UPS's discretion. Apparently, that means concert tickets are included. They said they'll pay for the reprinting fee, but ticketmaster doesn't reprint tickets.

I know it's a little off topic, but it's good info nonetheless. Lesson learned. I really hope your Grevious shows up. That is not a cheap piece, and I'd also be frustrated if I was in your shoes. Unfortunately, like others have said, USPS doesn't have good tracking info. It'll probably be a waiting game. If you paid with Paypal, you can probably file a claim. Just make sure it's under 45 days since the purchase or you're out of luck.
