Well, my call for a weekly "Ask Yoda" feature went over badly, but I thought I'd try again...

After two weeks of Billy Dee's "Night Shift" sound bites, I've become hooked. You guys should make it a weekly feature. With every ForceCast there could be a different proverb or pearl of wisdom from Billy Dee's erstwhile janitor.

Also, for the record, his name is not without importance. You guys have laughed at it a few times, but having studied a little bit of Haitian history, I have to mention that "Toussaint" is named after one of the major leaders of the Haitian revolution, Toussaint L'Ouverture. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toussaint_L%27Ouverture) I thought everyone should know, as it makes it only funnier that this ridiculous character should carry the name of one of the most complex and important figures in anti-colonial revolutionary history. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyways, how about it, a little Toussaint every week followed by an impression?

Agreed, this would make a most hilarious weekly feature. And I believe that there have been other listeners wanting to make this a weekly thing as well. Great idea, Skye.

Cool history lesson. And come to think of it, I thought Toussaint as a name was riduculous even before I read this article. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Maybe. But, on the flip-side, I can't think of a quicker way to run it's novelty into the ground.
Everything is better in moderation. Maybe save em until you have a 'super-pearl' worthy of it's own segment. Otherwise you may end up picking at straws that, er...no pun intended, suck.

I don't think it's funny to make fun of Billy Dee every week. This isn't the Soap Opera cast.

Now I'm not an oracle, but I'm going to make a prediction...

I'm thinking we're going to hear more sound clips. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm not sure that I would really want to clips every week. But I know we all can't get what we want. Afterall I guess there are listeners who suffer through the collecting segments that I like so much.

I'm just happy this thread was referred to as "a spirited debate" by Pete on last week's podcast. Though, I think a few things were "spirited debates" in the last podcast. (Is that the new absolutely?)

I like the compromise of having occasional Toussaintisms. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Speaking of Night Shift, I saw on TV Guide's site that these 13 episodes might be it. The ratings have been really strong, best ever for the channel at 1,000,000 viewers. Apparantly the actors who do both shows are burnt out though. They could solve that problem pretty easily though, by making the entire show about Billy Dee's character.
