Hi! I just purchased a Darth Maul 1/4 figure, and I was wondering if there is a store or two on the net that sells custom display cases for PF figures.

Thanks

i went ahead and checked how much a case for maul would cost. using the dimensions 20x18x22 is was $158.00. a bit more than i want to spend. not too many options with this statue.

I didn't take mine out yet...Are those dimensions with lots of room around him?

The length and position of the saber make the case you would need huge. I think the dimensions listed on the web site are like 18X18x20. I could be wrong, but it is akwardly big. I'm still trying to find a place for it.

sirT i didnt know you were into this line. the PF statues are one of my collection favorites. i really hope we get a qui-gon and/or obi to display along side maul.

with those measurments it gives you about 1-2 inches space. i just checked SS site. they list the maul as 19Hx18WX18D.

Oh, yeah! I love this line! I have all of them! ...all exclusive versions and one extra Han regular edition! I just want to get them into cases because I have plastic bags over some of them now and the dust is ridiculous!

I would pay 100-120 $US, but 150 is too much. I send an email to another e-store today and there price was 229$ http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/shocked.gif...

I'll have to find something else, or find someone on these boards who can make me a case.

OMG I was just looking at my Maul and saying the same thing.

I am with you. $100 maybe... as it may be one of the only ones I ever own... but $150 is pushing it...

Maybe we can swing a deal for more than one ?

I am working on a line of acrylic cases for the PF figures and the Attakus line.....The prices vary depending on size and weight. A lot of the price is for s/h due to the double packing (which you have to do)and insurance. If anyone is interested, please PM me- Thanks

What are the dimensions of the Darth Maul figure? DubbsShop.com shows acrylic covers that fit the Luke premium figure. Are they about the same size? Click here (http://www.dubbsshop.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=33&categoryId=9) for the link.

20x18x22 looks about right considering the span of the saber.

If you guys decide for Caseforcollectibles they do have some coupons in their site with discounts depending on the quantity. The cases do not have to be the same dimensions.
The shipping is the killer though!

I wish I had a basement. Right now, they'll have to take up residence in the storage room.

OK...I just ordered 12 cases....a few of them are HUGE! (one was for a lifesize Yoda)....From Cases for Collectibles....They are such nice people!
I paid a pretty penny, but I think they will be worth it!
I will post pics when I receive them!

Wow...congrats on the purchase. All those cases will make your collection that much better looking, no doubt. I'm assuming they're all acrylic, then?

Yes, they are all acrylic! I will show you guys when I get them! Only half of them are stock pieces, the rest are ebing custom made, so I have to wait a week for them to be finished and then another 2-3 days for them to ship them via a freight company, to me!
I can't wait!
Cases really do boost the apperance of a collection tenfold!

Weasel27
09-19-2007, 01:54 PM
That had to cost you a fortune in shipping charges.

SirTristram
09-19-2007, 02:21 PM
It wasn't that bad, actually. It would hve cost more for four cases than it did to go freight for 12 cases!
$300. Nice.

Mighty_Jabba
09-20-2007, 04:19 PM
I assume we're talking well over $1000 for those cases and shipping? You're right that good cases make all the difference in how a collection looks.

Actually, I lucked out on ebay a few days ago and won eight 8 x 8 x 16 cases that were originally from casesforcollectibles.com for only $125 shipped. (Nobody else bid on them.) They're just about the right size for 12" Sideshow figures. They're quite nice, but the problem is that now I have trouble getting myself to pay regular prices for their stuff. (The cases I got would be like $70+ apiece shipped if I wanted to get more.) Still, I'm looking into the possibility of getting one big case for a Sideshow Jabba display, so I might just have to bite the bullet and get it from them.

SirTristram

I have the plastic cover made at a local shop but I make the bases myself.

The Boba looks Amazing...Great choice for a display base.

What is it made out of? Better yet, how much will you charge to make them? You will not have a problem selling them if you do. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The base is made of a combination of wood, plastic and metal, with a flourescent light and orange gel.

I wish I had the time to make them for sale. But I can barely scavenge enough free time to make one http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Boy, you said it. Those (along witht he Illusive Concepts Han in Carbonite and Stormtrooper Armor) have been my personal collecting Grails for a very long time.
...I recently acquired Trooper armor, so at least I tackled that one.
I am still very sad about the droids though.
There may be a glimmer of hope to get R2, but I don't know...I'll have to wait until they begin to ship.

I do order my acrylic tops for statues from

Sora (http://www.sora.de/)

They are located in Germany. They have a system where you need to assemble it yourself and they are not that expensive and you save on shipping.

Though I have no idea if they send items internationally. You will have to ask them at info@sora.de .

You can order exact measurements

Sora Acrylic with own measurements (http://www.sora.de/p/Massvitrinen.php)

They come with mirrored back and a base optional. They do accept PayPal payment. Hope this was of help for you http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
