View Full Version : '90s Mix-and-Match Monster Action Figures:

Can someone help me identify the line? I just recalled some figures I haven't thought about in easily ten years. I had these in the early '90s. I think I had three, but only remember a Mummy and some Creature From the Black Lagoon knock-off. Their limbs and heads were interchangable with each others' body. Realistic sculpt and proportions. Thanks for any tips.

Of all the various monster toys I've seen and collected over the years, I hate to admit that I've never heard of this line. I checked several sites that deal with archiving monster-based toys, and have yet to find anything on these. Are you sure they're from the '90s?

My childhood's from the '90s. Maybe they're from an '80s line that carried into the '90s, or my parents found them in a yard sale or something. In my memory they were '90s style sculpt and paint. The Mummy came with a staff.

I'll move this to the misc toys section of the forum.

Hmm.. is this the line that the figures tood 4 inches tall, they came in 2-packs? One was like a robot with a fat police officer, another a Swamp Monster and Dracula... and other creatues and people? You can pop out there head, legs and arms... very well painted?

That sounds about right. When I first posted this I also felt my third was Dracula/a Vampire. And I definately had the "Gillman", it may have had a short lizard tail, as opposed to a stub. So you had some also?

I have no idea what your talking about. I never had a Fly Alien Ertl Socket POPpers when I was little. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif They were produced in 1991 and are uncommon.

What about fly poppers? So you have these in hand? Which figures specifically do you have? Could you share some pics?

I do not know where my collection pieces are but here are some duplicates I have.

That's them all right. Thanks Washu for bringing back some personal nostalgia. I had those two, and a Mummy, and I guess a Gillman, Lizardman, or Alien.

You can imagine I remember certain limbs better than others. I remember now Dracula had the bat on his finger, but I wouldn't have been able to recall that without the visual probably. And I remember "Swamp Thing"'s body and legs.

Dan, maybe you could spread these pics around and see what you can find?

I see now you gave the line earlier. They're called Socket Poppers.

Here's the "Lizardman" I had. It's a dinosaur. Only I don't remember the punk, so I either trashed that early, or got these second hand.

So much for realistic proportions and everything, aye?

The last I remember is the Mummy, on the cardback here. (http://www.virtualtoychest.com/socketpoppers/socketpoppers.html)
