I really like this figure. I'll probably be ordering the Takara version though (die-cast metal). I'm getting more and more excited about the movie line....

all the other transformer pictures that i've seen in the package come in vehicle mode. i wish optimus did. i know it's been discussed before, but what are the different classes and are all of the transformers going to come in each class?

Love the moving clips, the remind me of ads of years gone by when toy ads were featured on tv.

Optimus is one of the few movie designs who I don't think is too bad but the toy doesn't look that good to me in robot mode anyway.

Doesn't really bother me though since I am not buying any of the movie toys.

That's the idea! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm going to see if I can build a decent-looking "transforming" animation clip for this toy....I thought it might be neat to show the change. But if I can't make it look good, then forget it. Too much work! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If you do that don't forget to put in that cool "click" sound from the original Transformer commercials! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif I was always disappointed my Transformers didn't click like that.

As for this Prime, why does he look so "fat" in the first link and then much more streamlined in the second? Was that a mis-transformation or does the bot have some other features? He looks great in the second link!

The first few photos were shot with him taken right out of the box. The second batch was shot right after I played with it a bit.

The midsection extends a bit, making him taller, and also the feet have toes, which you can extend by rotating the "grill" of the truck. I tried to show that in the Photo Archive page as best I could. It's really cool.

Thanks! Also, does he have a "holographic" human in his cabin? I don't remember if that was this release or the smaller version coming later.

No human figure....the cabon is where the electronics are housed and the head pops down into.

I really not liking his vehicle mode, but I may still get him, he's Optimus Prime! Is it me or do these new T-formers look less realistic then the Classic ones?

I think that the flames are a little lame

I think this figure looks great and can't wait to get it. I like the smaller one with the holo-driver too. Aside from Classics, this will be the first mainstream Prime I've bought since RID. I skipped Armada/Energon/Cybertron Prime, and all the Primals.
