I've decided to get out of the Hasbro 3 3/4" game . . . . I'm selling my COMPLETE carded figure collection. I have just about every figure released - well over 600. So how do I do this? I know that the HUGE lots don't typically sell, but I don't want to deal with hundreds of buyers either. I was thinking of putting them up by "line" - ROTS, Ep. I, POTJ, EU, etc., etc. What do you think?

Help me, Scummers . . . . you're my only hope . . . .

I think you should sell them all to me for $5 shipped http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would think line would be fine. You gonna sell on here or other places?

Good luck however you decide to sell them.

I would think the whole lot would be too much. The individual line may work better but I don't know if you would get close to retail. For maximum money I would think selling them individually would be the way to go. However, who wants that headache! Again, good luck with however you sell them.

If you do sell them individually then you better charge an arm and a leg for the rare ones and sell the rest dirt cheap. If you don't like that approach then I would suggest selling each line but only asking around 50% of retail. The exception maybe the Clone Wars, EU, and POTF line. I would ask around double on the first two and 25% for the latter. Again, this is just my best honest opinion. I am not interested in buying any but good luck anyway!

The worst mistake I have seen is people trying to sell huge amount of figures for $X.xx per figure. They sell all the HTF ones fast and are suck with the rest that will not sell at almost any price!

Why did you buy them in the first place?

Sell the rarer ones individually. You can ask a decent price for those.

On eBay, small lots of common figures seem to do ok, particularly if they are theme-oriented (e.g. Han, Leia, Luke, Chewie from POTF2, Rebels, Imperials, Ewoks). But you want to avoid eBay.

There are sellers who will buy lots. There is one on eBay named vetting who sells loose figures and will will buy lots of complete figures. Try him or one of the other sellers who seem to deal in Star Wars toys.

Uh . . . . because I love Star Wars? What kind of question is that? Would I rather not have to sell? Absolutely.

I know you said you want to avoid eBay, but that's a really good route to go.. I've seen many figures that go for $2-3 here sell for over $5 on eBay. You just have to time the auctions right. But put too many figures up at once, and buyers are inundated with information and don't buy as much (as least that's how I feel when I see someone selling a bazillion figures at once).

I agree with other posters who advised you to sell HTF figures separately and at a higher price. OR find out how much those HTF figures are worth, and make it worth a buyer's time to buy the whole wave (if you're doing it by movie/etc) to get those HTF figures included.

I'd take the few that are worth a good deal of money and ebay 'em. Take the other 575 and sell them individually here. I don't think it would be wrong of you to ask a little more for them, like 5 or six bucks apiece, but give dicounts on larger lots, like 3 or 4 bucks apiece http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif. but thats just my opinion.
