Hi Folks,
I am a new collector of vintage loose figures and luckily I found this forum (and your warnings) on some dodgy ebay sellers I almonst nearly purchased from!
Is anyone able to advise any trusted ebay dealers
Thanks in advance

A seller by the name Siebold is pretty good. I've never had an issue of something being fake and his descriptions are accurate. Usually has some good stuff. Good luck.

Thanks heaps for the feedback, has anyone dealt with dcsportscards. I have bought a few figures already and there service has been great, however I have not ventured into purchasing any items that are too high risk repro wise.

You know... I'm a long time eBayer and I love it. When I first came here I read all kinds of comments from people saying that they prefered to just deal with fellow RS members through the classifieds over using eBay. Then I saw a few threads about bad seeds here and was a bit leery of moving outside the comforts of eBay's feedback system.

But in the time since then I've had many great transactions with RS members here and have found that in many circumstances the RS classifieds are by far a much better place to do business. The 'bad seeds' on RS are few and far between. That's not to say that there aren't certain items that would sell better on eBay than here. But what I have noticed is that many of the best eBay sellers are also RS members. So don't assume eBay is the best place to find reputable sellers. When an RS member goes out of their way to make certain your transaction with them is a positive one, and they aren't just doing it to get positive feedback, then you have found a good seller who prizes their reputation.

Also I want to add Todd Chamberlain's name to the list of great sellers, both here and on eBay where he uses the name 'poptoys'. Also Jordan of 'Hollywood Heroes' ('hollywoodheroes' on eBay).

Hi Everyone! This is Siebold again. In reference to my earlier post I now add this introduction. If I did or had made any error a few years ago I sincerly apoligize. I can honestly say it would never have been intentional. I understand fully that a reproduction is worthless (At least in my opinion). More so than ever before, I have spent the last few years religiously researching / studying vintage Kenner produced weapons and working specifically on ID'ing specific models and variances as well. I offer much of this info in my loose weapons auctions .... and even if one were not interested in buying from me personally at all, hopefully some of this info may still be at least helpful in your quest to avoid those nasty reproductions! I continue to strive to update these listing to share more specif fine detailed info as often as possible. I can only let my feedback on eBay speak for itself (4000+ Positives , 10,000+ total Pos received) and do the best I can to be honest and open. The original entry that follows below was never intended as a commercial at all (In fact I had never posted on rebel scum before ever) , and was only an attempt by me to polightly respond to an earlier unflatering comment that a fellow eBay friend had mentioned had been left for me. (Otherwise I would have never posted anything at all) Best wishes to everyone! Chuck :-) ***************************Original Posting Follows********************

Hi Everyone! This is Siebold! I pride myself on weapons identification as I have been selling on ebay for 6 years and collecting for 25 years. I also try to openly share info on weapons models and post ID's of specific weapons variations being as specific as possible as to mold variances etc. I aslo try to help with accuracy problems as best I can in the Vintage SW weapons identification world, by posting much of this info onto eBay for open reference. Best wishes to everyone out there and I would like to thank all the traders who have been so nice to me over the years including both Buyers and Sellers!

you can safely buy from me, privately here or on ebay: artnplastic, I usually get stuff sold before they hit ebay. Figure variations are my speciality.

I was going to buy this on the basis of the above recommendation.

But then I noticed you only ship to the US. Any chance you can be talked into shipping to the UK?

Todd is easily the most helpful of all the 'dealers' out there. His prices are fair and he's always willing to do whatever it takes to help someone out. I can't count how many times he's gone out of his way for me...

Yes, I've also bought a few items from Todd ('bluesnagman' on eBay). He's also an RS member. Although, he sells repro items and I'm not a repro kind of guy, he seems to go out of his way to clearly identify what accessories are repro and which are original. He also went the extra mile to make things right when I wasn't happy with a recent purchase. I'm ultra picky about condition and when I felt a figure I had bought was not quite what I was hoping for he sent me out another right away. Best of all... he's got the hugest inventory of loose figs, there's lots to choose from. Plus now he also carries AFA graded stuff.

Another seller I highly recommend is Stephen, 'JediKnightActionFigures' here on RS. His website is http://jediknight.biz/

So far I've found his descriptions & grading of figures to be about the most accurate of anyone I've bought from, and he has a good supply of very nice figures.

Yes Paul's a very good seller to deal with to. One thing I love about them is that package well and ship very fast. I love that 'Airsure' they use shipping to Canada... across the world in a just 2-3 days. Also, Paul always seem to have a great selection of very fine condition stuff. It might not be the cheapest, but he has a lot of high quality stuff.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the advice, and I can now also highly recommend Paul from Leah's Toys, great to deal with and lightening fast shipping.
BTW has anyone noticed this yet? Is this genuine?? ebay item # 200047095889 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200047095889&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010)

James Boryla aka swseller on eBay seems like a pretty trustworthy guy. I've only bought from him once, but the item was well described and well packaged. He also has a website www.swseller.com (http://www.swseller.com) that has reasonable prices.

Bluesnagman (Todd) is awesome in person. I couple of years ago he hooked me up with a guy at a convention that I bought some stuff from. The other dealer (not Todd) lost my address and contacted Todd. Todd sent me an email telling me the guy was looking for me at the next convention. I got my stuff, although a year later, but as promised. Todd will bend over backward to help a fellow collector out.

I thought I'd chime in as well. Yep, Todd rules! I've dealt with him many, many times over the span of a decade and never once had a problem. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would also recommend:
The Toy Cave (http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthetoycaveQQhtZ-1QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0?)

The Toy Heaven (http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfrtsZ0QQsassZjgallo)

They're both top notch sellers. Andy and James are also two of the nicest guys you'll meet in or out of the hobby.

I wanted to add a comment regarding Ron at 'Cloud City Collectibles'. I know some people would prefer to take their chances buying from the 'little guys' (virtually unknown individuals or 'mom & pop' operations), but there really is something to be said for buying from a well established and trusted seller such as CCC. Ron is a great guy to deal with and has always been more than fair and generous in transactions I've had with him.

So, if you're looking for a trusted eBay seller with a great inventory, who is also great to deal with... look for auctions by wwwcloudcitycom

I use a few well established sellers on ebay and cannot praise them high enough!!!!

siebold [cheap prices and usefulparts]
onetofivedayauctions [good prices and selection]
bluesnagman [very cheap international postage]
emmaj3416 [the BEST vintage customiser]

All of these I have bought from many times and hardly ever had any problems, if there has been, it was swiftly sorted. These people give me faith in ebay.

I must add myself aswell as I am as honest as the day is long. I occasionally sell and my ebay name is: russian.hill

On the contrary I once bought from a seller called:'beating-the-bookies'. This guy sold me crap weapons pretending they were real. When I gave him neg feedback, he gave me the same in return! for what? buying the crap off him in the firstplace! It upset me at the time as it spoiled my perfect record and I went right off ebay for a while. The 4 sellers above helped restore my faith, so all credit to them.

With regard to ebay, I think it is becoming more dodgy all the time with people blatantly lying. It makes using this forum all the more important.

If I'm not mistaken onetofivedayauctions is Shaun N. I can't spell the last name and someone correct me if I'm wrong on the dealer.

He has a reputation for dealing in repro weapons and other such goods. Run a search on him and there will be a ton of reading to do.

Yes, I would have to agree that Ron at Cloud City is great to deal with.

The best UK seller I've come across is diezels - knows his stuff, never repro weapons and great sense of humour.

Leahstoys also great.

Worse UK seller is vinnels99 - their C10 grading is somewhat ambitious and I've had repro weapons.

I would like to say that isoldit.ca0124 (http://myworld.ebay.com/isoldit.ca0124) is reputable for selling vintage Star Wars and Indy items. They recently sold a genuine carded Vlix and got great feedback. I think at the moment they only have one Star Wars item up but they tend to be getting a lot within the last few months.

I've been lurking for a while so thanks for all the help on whom to avoid. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I second that, Vinnels99 is not only a very bad seller, but a bad buyer as well, Sellers, without going into to the matter further, I beg you all to take my advice and put her on your blocked bidders list.
