New searches look terrible. Harder to read, too ... or so it seems.

They had to justify the incredible fee hike...

Yeah, I agree. It's harder to see everything quickly. I'm not a fan of the change.

How big was the fee hike anyway?

If I was a new eBayer I'd be a bit perplexed. They've been adding layers of complexity to the site with some consistancy over the years, so most older users are getting accustomed to the frequent changes. Some of the modifications/additions are useful, but the pages are getting harder to look at (I mean design-wise it's difficult to pile so much data and have it stil look good), and they are using up all the "white space" on the page. So your eyes are basically assaulted with all this info and choices and it takes the uninitiated a little while to "get it." But I think it works.

The ebay store listings went from $0.02 to $0.10 every 30 days. I suck at math but isn't that 500%? They also really jacked up the final fees. Not cool, especially since most people don't even search eBay stores. Just my two cents...

Their fees were quite high enough already. I'm not a fan of the new look, but at least there are options at the bottom of the page to choose between 3 image sizes and # of items per page.

Actually Ebay is very cheap if you compare it with the fees at the auction sites in my country,

I know this is Irrelevant to some of you guys, but think about it,
It could be a lot worst http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
