Hi there ! I think nobody will be mad at me for outing such an auction. For those who know me and know I have a trilogo set myself with many variations (see my limelight), NO, I am not selling my collection.

I'm not sure a full set of carded trilogo figures to have ever been available for sale before ??

Here's the link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230017366298)

All I can say is that, if you are a Trilogo collector, then go ahead, you can get it all in one time, and the price is FAIR !

That is impressive AND sad at the same time to see a guy/gal selling his/her collection. Hopefully for the seller's sake that auction will pull his full asking price.

I'm pretty sure Cloud City had a full set on ebay in '99 or '00.

That is correct and I think the set sold for around 35k.
The figures where in perfect shape. Most likely the nicest condition set out there.
This set has some condition issues but is a bargain at that price.

That set is wicked awesome. The condition might not be the best, but for Tri-Logos it is VERY good. Freaking sweet.

It's not auction-outing when it's something people are bound to find themselves by just looking. And 10,000.00 Tri-logo sets rarely slide under the radar. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Damn the seller for not breaking this thing up! I'd love to get current market values on the rarer ones. When's the last time a Madine when up for public sale?

Of course, an industrious buyer could probably buy the whole thing, break it up, and end up with enough profit to keep the Madine for free. I wish I had $30,000 lying around.

I wonder how many figures would bust through those bubbles during shipping...

Well, for such a buying, you do not use shipping, you actually get on site.

Based on my experience and what I've seen in the past, I would say : Madine $3000 (it's as mint as mine http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif), Boba Fett $2500 (it's the french macao release), and Jawa $2100

Not if you have 18K to blow in one shot on plastic! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually it would be worth the flight over there IMO just to carry the half dozen heavyweights back safely.

Admittedly I didn't stare at the pictures for a great length of time, but the big pieces looked to be in pretty good shape (Madine and Fett look AFA worthy to me). The Jawa and CCP have some bubble issues, but the cards look fairly clean. Granted half of the fun of collecting is in the hunt, but someone is going to get really lucky with this buy IMO.

I remember when tri-logos were looked down on by collectors as what you'd get if you couldn't afford the ROTJ versions. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with the tris, but it's hard to shake that mindset.

Buying a complete set of anything? there's a part of me that says, "Oh sweet, you'd have everything all at once and be able to figure out your display immediately." The other part says, "Oh, ok, but what do you collect once that goal's out of the way? hope a POTF set is put on Ebay?"

Very nice. I'm sorely tempted, but my girlfriend would leave me.

The hunt can still continue for some of the tougher variations. I didn't take too good a look at the pictures, but there are still a few to track down (i.e. Yoda orange snake, Luke Jedi blue saber).

That is an amazing set and worth every penny IMHO. If the hunt wasnt the fun I would buy it in a hardbeat. You could eaisly buy the whole set and piece it out to make a mint.

Wow, very nice set of figures. Wish the jawa were offered individually, but oh well. Be interesting if it sales..

Well if anyone's breaking it up to sell separately I'd be interested in the Imperial Gunner. Strangely enough, I love the yellow price decal on that particular piece.

According to the vendor, the set was sold outside of eBay.

Could the mod that moved this thread to this subforum please let us know why? It implies that *every* auction will be moved to the "Watch Out" section even if there seems to be nothing fishy going on. That just doesn't make sense IMO...

I agree it doesn't make the best sense... but this is the way it's been organized according to Shane.

"The Watch Out! Category
-This is where all discussion about fakes, recards, reseals and any other dubious items is to take place. Also, bad eBay dealers and known scammers can be discussed here. All eBay related threads are to be posted in this category as well - this includes funny ha ha auctions and fishy auctions. Members are still not permitted to link to their own eBay auctions."
