Current comics storyline spoilers ahead, you have been warned:

is anyone else loving GI Joe declassified by Larry Hama as much as me??? We finally get to see Shooter from issue # 1. The Americas elite series will now be focusing on the return of cobra, as Cobra commander has been running around as the US president's Chief of staff and also coming out soon: Scarlett Declassified, Dreadnoks Declassified, and Special Missions: Tokyo featuring Jinx, Budo, Rock n Roll, Wild Bill, Gung-ho and Clutch

I can't believe I got censored for putting D I C, the company that made those really bad GI Joe cartoons after GI Joe the movie came out. Anyone know if there are plans to finish the last season and the D I C ones out on DVD?

Lady_Jaye

No plans have been made!! Like I said before, they really need to find a company to either re-release the entire series, or at least finish off the second season!! F'n Rhino was a joke, especially when it came to bad coloring and transfers!! You know who's handling their releases perfectly, the guys releasing the He-Man cartoons, very nice set!!

And to start off the new thread right, I though I should post a pic of another toy that made the GI JOE line the greatest line in the world!! I didn't get it, I could have, I should have just saved up!! But no, money would always burn a hole in myu pocket!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif But she was a thing of beauty!!

I knew a kid who had the U.S.S. Flagg. It was huge.

DarkGreedo

The Flagg was the holy grail of gi joe collecting back in the day, I never got it. I think I'd break down and cry if I walked into a store and saw one on the shelf (as a rerelease, even)

I've still got mine. Although it is in pretty decent shape and I think it is all there, it is suffering from old age. That, and my mom saw fit to burn the box years ago after I had moved out to "save space". I got it for my birthday one year. I remember going and picking it up at WM for the low low price of $125. Looking back I wish I had bought about three of them. Along with three or four of every toy I ever owned for that matter. Oh well, hindsight and all that. Best playset...EVER!!

Oh yeah, gotta love the Flagg. I saved and saved and had enough cash to buy the darn thing when I was a kid, but my mom wouldn't let me buy it because it was too big and I didn't have enough room in my room for it http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Looking back she was right, I didn't have room for it (unless I used it as a bed lol) but it would have looked nice in the living room http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was an avid GI Joe fan when I was kid. I remember I had gone to some other kids b-day party, y'know, one of those ones where they invite the whole class, and your parents send you because of the invitation even though you don't even really know the kid? Anyway, I remember walking into his 'play room' and the Flagg was on a table along with just about everything else made up to that point. I was in shock the rest of the afternoon. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

06-26-2006, 08:23 PM
I used to have a room for my stuff but when my mom got divorced and moved into a trailer, the Flagg either had to stay in the box or become the coffee table.

Also, anyone know why the reprints of the original GI Joe comics stopped? Is it because the license changed hands? If so, why doesn't DD finish them off?

I remember my mom giving me the option for Christmas of either a basketball goal, the Cobra Terror Dome, or the Flagg. Since like most of you, I didn't have the room, I opted for the Terror Dome. I figured it would serve as a make-shift "basketball goal" if used with a foam ball during its down time from playing with GI Joes. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I'd prefer the Terror Drome to the Flagg (don't have a Flagg), I'm a big Cobra fan. I didn't get into G.I. Joe collecting until the mid to late '90s, so I missed out on the heyday bigtime.
However, I did get lucky. My brother "inherited" (so to speak) a fairly sizable collection from a second cousin (I think) who had the money to get a lot in it's prime. Treated his stuff like sh*t though, so my brother didn't get nearly as much as he would have had the dude taken good care with his toys.
My brother was always nice about letting me use/play with those Joes, even gave me some.
I got the Terror Drome about 5 years ago online. $75, incomplete and a little doscolored, but I was damn excited! And it came with a mostly incomplete Firebat, for which I still seek a canopy, for it's was missing.

However much I get into Star Wars, I'll always have a special place for G.I. Joe; the toy line of my childhood as long as I can remember.

I would've loved to have the FLAGG as a kid. I did have the terror drome though and it was awesome. I think I tried to make a FLAGG out of boxes once, it didn't work out so well.

I had the better of the bases for GI JOE, the Mobile Commande Center!! Got it for X-Mas 87!! Good times!! Man was I the envy of the neighborhood gang!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif It was the coolest, a Sandcrawler with wheels, that could open up to have a cool [censored] base!! I loved it!! Sadly though, very soon after I had gotten into my too cool for toys phase!!

The U.S.S. Flagg is my favorite toy that I EVER had ... regardless of what line it came from. I also had the Terror Drome, Mobile Command Center, and the Defiant. Good times back then. Good times.

For bases, I had the original GI joe headquarters, with the cool prison in the middle of it and I later remember trading something to some kid for the space shuttle complex, which I used to use as a base that Cobra had taken over.

Anyone know why the reprints of the Marvel GI Joe run stopped? Was it because the license changed hands? Seems like someone could finish those off. I had planned on getting all the reprints and selling my original set of comics. Also had planned on doing that with my SW Marvel comics but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I did get all the reprints though.

Ok, this is going to drive the GI JOE collectors nuts!! They know how to treat army builders, don't they!! Why the Star Wars guys don't!! Last time they gave us a multi pack of Clonetroopers, they were all pre-posed!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Still, wish they had the original legs!! They just don't look quite right!! Almost, but just a tiny tweek! Hasbro should have never sold or destroyed the molds!!

just put the whole Sigma 6 2.5 collection in layaway. Not bad it was only $115. The Dragonhawk looks amazing. I say whole but there is one $6.88 set that I didn't find. It was the one with Storm Shadow.

Anyone know a good Joe dedicated site? One that would archive all the old figures and vehicles.

I don't collect Sigma 6, but I saw 3 that I really liked so I picked up Zartan, Storm Shadow with the red pants, and battlefield commander cobra commander, who looks awesome when set up. I loved GI Joe growing up and unfortunatly sold most of my collection for beer money as a college student a few years ago. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Looking for Star Wars toys on the second hand market, I've respawned my Joe collecting habit. It's just to hard to pass up when the prices are so much lower that Star Wars. My local comic shop has no idea what Joe stuff could go for, so over the last few months I've gotten some great deals on stuff, highlights include 85 Snake Eyes complete but without timber for $5. and a Mauler MBT with driver and mic for $15. got those last week.
Oh and I just got my viper pit from Entertrainment Earth, and that is the coolest pack ever.

Sadly I did the same thing in high school, but it was to fund my baseball card habit!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Oh and I saw the pics of the Zartan, if I ever see it, I think that'll be my first, and only, Sigma 6 figure!

I thought I got a better deal on the Mauler, Heavy Metal's mic is the rarest accessory in the entire line according to the YOJOE collectors book.

For the longest time, I always treated G.I.Joe as an unacceptable ripoff of Star Wars http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/blush.gif. So, after Star Wars, I went into Transformers, lost interest in them around the time of thier movie, because I heard a kid say Optimus Prime dies in the movie, then I finally moved onto Joes. My God, did I go hog wild with them. I remember going to Thrifty's, and after opening up the centerfolds of Penthouse and Playboy and leaving them sprawled open on a toy shelf, picked up a Dusty, passing on a Duke (only time I ever saw him BTW http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif) and got immediately hooked. This was around the summer of '86. Over time we bought alot of vehicles, and we got the base/ocean rig(?) with the adjustable legs. Passed on a ton of other stuff, including the Flagg at Mervyns back at the end of '87 when they clearanced out thier toy section for good. The Flagg got down to $50 I remember. Sadly, my lack of respect for Joes took flight again when I too entered my too cool for toys phase around '90 and I destroyed most of them out of spite.

The thing that makes me nostalgic the most about Joes, Star Wars and Transformers back in the '80's was how durable they were compared to today and how easily available mediums were around to pitch them, such as cartoons and ads in holiday toy guides giving them prominent space. Makes me sad and pining for the good old days.

Haven't seen them at TRU lately, nor have I seen replenishments of the last two waves before that. I'm getting concerned if TRU at the retail level is going to get these, but I may pass since they raised the price a bit. I just picked up the Sigma Six Zartan last night!! I had to, been wanting to pick up one of these, so I figured why not one of my all time favorite characters!!

He's actually not bad! I can see why kids like these guys! They're nice sized, very poseable, and have a bunch of weapons! And they are very sturdy, they aren't as fragile as say Legends or Star Wars figures, neither are their weapons! While I am put off by the squareness of the body, the sharp angles, it's still a hundred times better than the GI JOE Extreme line that followed RAH. Man those sucked!! I think a worthy continuation and a nice line for today's kids! Now if they ever make Flint or LJ, I might pick up another two! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Oh and about the Zartan figure, he's pretty cool! I like the whole look, a gret nod to the classic figure, but yet different enough to stand alone on its own merit! I do love the cowl, they did a great job on it!! Only thing that could have made this even better, the same color changing skin!!

I like to post when I get new things http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif
First off, my Wal-Mart has a Crap load of Destro's, anyone looking for one should PM me.
So anyway, I went to my comic shop yesterday and picked up the following:
84' Firefly- no weapons- $3.00
84' Baroness- no weapons- $3.00
82' Snake Eyes complete- $5.00
89' Range Viper no weapons( but I already have them) $3.00
82' The Enemy(soldier) no crotch - $5.00

That's it for this week, Friday I'm gonna go pick up a 86' Viper w/o backpack for $4, and the 85' BATS complete for $6.
What gets me really excited is that the owner told me he's got a rubbermaid container full of 80's and 90's guys and vehicles he'll be putting out a week from tomorrow. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have about 40 or 50 issues, and I would like to conmplete my collection but every comic shop around here sells them for about 3 bucks and issue and I can't see myself spending another 250-350 dollars just for comics. That said, I will on occasion pick up an issue for a good read. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Target sells Sigma Six figures for $14.79, but today in Walgreens, I saw them for $11.99.

I am so tempted to start collecting these, especially being burnt from Hasbro's lack of quality turning me off Star Wars. It does not help when I read that you can be picking up geat deals for them as well as comic books for below retail. I wish I never threw them away back in the early '90's when I was going through my "babes don't dig a dude with action figures" phase. Of course, they still don't, but now that I'm married, who cares? Should have hid them like I did with my "adult video selections".

I read at joblo or AICN that the script for the live-action movie is getting close to being finalized, and the makers are worried about Cobra Cmdr. wearing a hood/helmet being cheesey.

Yo Joe indeed. I used to have a ton of these guys back in the day, but sold them all years ago to buy vintage Kenner stuff. Well, anyway, I recently won the Rebelscum 10th Anniversary Grand Prize, and I'm going to get my head scanned by Gentle Giant and put on a 12 inch Star Wars figure! I've been buying up lots of cheap Hasbro 12 inchers to display with my "me" figure, but more to the point I've also been getting a few 12 inch GI Joe figs.

I've been cherry-picking through the last several years' worth of figs (Hall of Fame, Joe Vs. Cobra, Valor Vs. Venom) and only getting figures that resemble the RAH characters I loved as a kid. So far I've got:

Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow 2-pack
Talking FX Duke (not a close resemblance, but a killer toy)
Stalker
Gung Ho Marine Dress Blues
Roadblock
Hooded Cobra Commander
Destro (first one)
Zartan
Viper with flag (what a great troop builder)

I prefer the figs with more-or-less realistic outfits & accessories (I'm jonesing for a Bazooka) and steering clear of the ridiculous ones like Sand Scorpion and Firefly. I'd like to start putting together accessories sets to make other Joes; for example, slap the Arctic Assault Mission Gear set on a fig with a red beard, and you've got a Snow Job. Does anyone else here collect the 12 inchers?

I do, I agree the Cobra 12 Inch Viper was one of the best figs Hasbro made, Everything down to the Pistol with working slide to the AK with removable Mag. I bought four three on clearence for 5.00. I love those troops.

I know that certain figures are worth a substantial amount of money, but the comic store I buy Joes from has no idea how to price them. Certain Joes that aren't worth anything are 18 bucks ( 84 Gung Ho), and others that are worth money get sold dirt cheap, ($15 MBT mauler/with Heavy Metal/w mic). I've just gotten to the point where I don't like to spend more than 6-8 dollars on any fig, cause when I go back next week there might be a better one cheaper. My post about buying Torch for $10 was a continuation of a series of posts I made when I found great deals( see above posts), but on that occasion I really wanted to find someting and they were dry, so I splurged on an "expensive" figure.

And yes, it's a good time to collect Joes again, prices are very good. That is if you can find a place that doesn't specialize in Joes!!

Heck, I put in an order with BBTS right before the new year (the stuff arrived yesterday) for a bunch of stuff including quite a few Joe items, all complete:

Major Bludd
Airtight
Barbecue
Quick Kick (w/file card)
Snow Serpent (w/file card)
Iceberg
Sci-Fi (w/file card)
Dr. Mindbender
Monkeywrench
Law & Order
Charbroil (w/file card)
Downtown
Slipstream (w/file card)
Buzz Boar
Conquest X-30 (to go with Slipstream)
Rattler (w/Wild Weasel)

Probably about $200 for all of that, shipping included.

Got some TFs, Street Fighter wave 4, a couple of vintage SW Leias for their guns, the Wedge 'net exclusive & the Balrog from LOTR as well. Hey, it was Christmas money, what else was I supposed to use it on? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

To be fair, the reason he's got the mic is because at some point a previous owner put a little dab of super glue to it to keep it in place. I'm sure I could safely remove it but then I too would be at risk of losing it, and since he's not going anywhere, I just prefer to keep him that way.

hey wassup guys, just found this AWSOME thread. I'm joe crazy too lol too bad they stopped making the original line, not that these new joes are bad just articulation is a lil off. but still glad they making these...it's better than nothing.

started with a sccop, capt grid-iron and a frag viper and BAM hooked on'em like a peanutbutter crack sandwich.....HMMMM hmmmm!!!!!

prolly a lil old but i got the cobra viper pit for christmas and I WAS SOOOOO HAPPY!!! but i had to tweak the head and and pelvis piece a bit so they could move more freely.

Customizing and fixing joes are a lil easier for me cuz they come apart easier wit the screw and the O-ring

As for sigma 6....i got the storm shadow totally off the hook. lol

IDK man just luv them joes!!! YO JOE!!!!

Being a huge fan of the originals, I couldn't beleive my eyes this afternoon when I got a glimpse of the first figure shown in the 25th anniversary line. If you are a member of Mastercollector, go there now and look at the beautiful Storm Shadow that is coming out this summer in the 25th anniversary line.

What is the 25th anniversary line you say? A line of 25 figures commemerating the 25th anniversary of the 3 3/4" Joes and Cobras. They are super articulated and will pay homage to the classic ARAH figures. Mastercollector will be posting a new image before Hasbro.com each day. So if you are not a member, just watch Hasbro.com.

Rumor has it that if the line is a success, the 3 3/4" figures will be back as a regular line.

Crap, CC w/ hood, I hope there's a variant face shield head, or a 2nd version.

Snake Eyes w/ Timber, sweet.

They just may be clamshelled w/ vint. packaging. With GI Joe being so limited with great figures like this, and a select few characters I'd like, I'd be willing to pay $10 each.
(which has detracted me from buying SW VOTC which I may have otherwise bought)

These may get as many accessorie as new SW, w/ alternate heads and the like.

Maybe the figure of Lady Jaye could have a removable hat, but I agree that I'd far prefer hatless cartoon Jaye.

haha... good stuff.

Now that I've had a little bit of time to drool over the picture at TNI and at that list of the first wave of this 25th Anniversary line and day dream about all that could be with this toy line I am reminded about how the G.I. Joe line has constantly disappointed me over the past few years. I hate to be a pessimist but Hasbro constantly showed impressive G.I. Joe product at toy conventions and in press releases but when it came time to holding the toy in my hand in the toy aisle I was disappointed.

Iíll probably tread lightly with these and only buy a few of them to test them out at first. If these are in the quality range as the Star Wars Vintage toy line but at $5-7 a figure I donít see how I can possibly pass on any of them.

I know my list of preferred figures has been done time and time again, but here would be my top 25 Joe figures, in no specific order.

All figures done with modern quality sculpting with loads of articulation:
Wave1:
- Original Duke
- Scarlett
- Cobra Commander (Chrome faced helmet)
- Snake Eyes w/ Timber
- Storm Shadow

Wave 2:
- Destro
- Firefly
- Serpentor
- Baroness
- Cobra Infantry

Wave 3:
- Major Bludd
- Lady Jaye
- Flint
- Tomax
- Xamot

Wave 4:
- Zartan (color change skin)
- Roadblock
- Barbeque
- Shipwreck
- B.A.T.

Wave 5:
- Spirit
- Storm Shadow V2
- Snake Eyes V2
- Wetsuit
- Alley Viper V1

Assuming that list is correct, in no particular numbering order:
1. STORM SHADOW
2. SNAKE EYES w/ TIMBER
3. COBRA OFFICER
4. CORBRA COMMANDER w/ HOOD
5. FLINT
6. BEACHHEAD
7. SERPENTOR
8. BUZZER
9. LADY JAYE
10. COBRA TROOPER

Plus my prefered choices:
11. COBRA COMMANDER w/ FACE PLATE
12. DUKE
13. SCARLETT
14. ROADBLOCK
15. SHIPWRECK w/ POLLY
16. SPIRIT w/ FREEDOM
17. ALPINE
18. BAZOOKA
19. GUNG-HO
20. QUICK KICK
21. DESTRO
22. BARONESS
23. ZARTAN
24. DR. MINDBENDER
25. ?...

Psyche on Spirit & Freedom.
Of course they'll have to make Joe leader Gen. Hawk, though I don't know if I'd buy him.

If there was a snowball's chance in Hell that characters introduced in the movie would ever be considered for this line, you'd better believe for starters Pythona and Lt. Falcon would be replacing some lower-downs from the show.

I only look in this thread once in a while, and I'm glad I did. These 25th Anv. figures have amazing potential!

I haven't been interested in any "new" Joes since I was 12 or so (been grabbing some loose vintage ones here and there though). But just like the VOTC wrangled me back into SW, I think this line might have the same effect.

I don't care if they come in clamshells or not, but I really hope they come on vintage styled cards (does anybody know? did I miss some info?). To me the vintage Joe cards are second only to the vintage Kenner SW ones in greatness. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hmmmm.... It's very, very good, but the giant weapons just throws it off somehow. Looks like there's ankle articulation, a nice touch, and I really like the sculpting of the hands. I'm not that crazy about the face sculpt, but maybe it'll look better when the helmet is off.

pretty cool BUT..... the choice of weapon does not agree with me...it should be either snow job's(he needs a resculpt) laser rifle like in the cartoon or the machine gun that came with the figure orginally...also where are his binoculars? and his backpack http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well at least it's the original V1 Duke. Does look off a lil though, maybe it's just the poor posing of the weapon? Hips look funky to me too though, like he's wearing his pants Urkel style or something, way too high.

I like that his Bandolier is a separate piece now.

I never liked the 1991 Duke, because he had weightlifter arms. His Triceps were undeveloped, so he couldn't put his arms all the way down, made them stick out to the sides like an orangutan.

I kind of like this Duke. His Gun needs downsizing, but I love the details on the fig. His head may be a touch too small though.

After the sweetness that was Storm Shadow, I'm a bit let down by Duke. The accessories are really important in these figures, especially if they're going for heavy detail like VOTC Star Wars. Storm Shadow looked wonderful. Even his bowstring sat behind his arm nicely. This massive weapon of Duke's, however, doesn't fit as well. I like the low holster with the pistol and the removable bandolier, though, and the sculpt is great. Personally, I say cut down that gun, and throw in a backpack of some kind, and it'll be great.

I'm loving these 25th anniversary figures. I donated all but Cobra Commander from the recent GI Joe figures because I wasn't doing anything with them. I like Sigma Six well enough, but it's just not good enough for me to buy. But these so far have been absolutely display worthy. I'm being sucked back in!

I prefer the original M-14 (I think it was) rifle issued for this one. The M-16 is probably more fitting for the revamped Duke figure we got a couple years back. But I still like Duke in THIS style uniform.

Well, she's not so bad. Her face seems a little to anime-esque rather than the realism in Duke and Storm Shadow. But I like that they're giving the girls a different body type and trying something new. It's true that the contemporary figures have been really too wide in the shoulders, and that ruined a few good figures.

All in all, another thumbs up for Scarlett.

not only does the knee and ankle articulation draw too much attention, it looks similar to that of ROTS Aayla which is a very difficult figure to keep standing. On Aayla, the knees and ankles are too loose and so the legs buckle down over the weight of the figure.

I agree, Scarlett's a straight-up animated sculpt.
Could have been really good w/ modern sculpting (if only Hasbro took the time to actually plan things).

And the legs joints are really bad. The hip joints should have fit in sockets made made from the outline of her leotard.

My sister, who's favorite character is Scarlett, won't be very pleased.
But then she's not a hardcore figure collector, so she may not mind or notice as much.

Hasbro dropped the ball by not making realistic sculpts and paint jobs.

If Hasbro's unwilling to roll out new vehicles for Star Wars, a line that's doing well, do you really think that they'd be willing to sink money into 3 3/4 G.I. Joes, a line that to my count has been canceled 3-4 times already due to poor sales?

I think re-releasing some of the older popular vehicles with new, more realistic, paint schemes would make them look sharp, and people would want to buy them.

Maybe not you Lady Jaye, but I doubt that you're the majority voice. I bet the majority voice would like to see some vehicles, than the none you demand if there's no new ones.

Sure, I'd like to see an update on some of these vehicles, but I'd rather have some than none. Your attitude of New or nothing leads to a large supply of nothing.

Anyone know if they'll be continuing the comic packs? I loved those.

Like Hasbro is sentimental at all.

#1"Those poor G.I. Joes, if only they had new Vehicles. Let's sink money into development."

Ha ha ha, you can be so simple sometimes!

You know Hasbro could have just re-released the same figure molds for the 25th Anniversary too! But no, they did things right!

Like someone mentioned at another site, this could be just a test. I bet if the line does well, that we could see new figures as well as vehicles, despite your assured stance that we won't!

Anyhow, obviously we don't agree. So we'll leave it at that! So you be happy if you get your re-paints, I'll skip them. If we get new vehicles, then crow you shall eat! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Those figures are pretty sweeeeeeeet. I can't believe I'm actually willing to get a Gung Ho figure. Between his cheesy 'stache and that horrid tattoo, I've never liked him, but I'll be picking up one in this line.

And I hate to disagree with you, LJ, but I don't see any vehicles happening for this line, either. Maaaaaybe some smaller ones in some kind of deluxe-style packaging, but I wouldn't expect any big ones. (Though I always liked the smaller ones anyway. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

Ha ha ha, you can be so simple sometimes!

At least it gave you an opportunity to be insulting, condescending and superior.

Because as they've demonstrated with the VOTC/VTSC/VTAC line that they run this particular test and create new molds of vehicles. Oh, wait, I forgot. That never happened.

Oh, well at least it's supported by facts and figures instead of speculation by an anonymous contributor of another forum, instead of past behaviors of a large company whose main concern is making money.

See, I probably would have left it at that if you didn't start out your comment with an insult. However, you had to throw out loose speculation without a basis in fact, and yet felt it necessary to have a superior attitude because of that. But, I guess now I will leave it alone.

Et tu brute?? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Like I said, I'm hoping! There's always a chance! I mean Hasbro said we'd never see a AT TE, but from what's been read and heard, we might see this beauty this year!!

Because as they've demonstrated with the VOTC/VTSC/VTAC line that they run this particular test and create new molds of vehicles. Oh, wait, I forgot. That never happened.

Two completely different properties! This is their home grown product, they don't have to pay a dime in royalties or a share of the profits. Once the mold is created, all profits are retained by Hasbro. Plus, this could be the start of a huge new line, not just a dedicated Anniversary line!! But a GI JOE line without vehicles, would be like a Jedi without a Lightsaber! Maybe we won't get the Flagg again, but we could see updates on classic smaller vehicles??

Oh and these facts and figures you have, please share them with us. I know us simple folk who don't have raw data to back up all our claims are no match for you in the industry, but please show us what you know! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Loving the new 25th Anniv. figures. My question is - when is wave 4 supposed to be out? Munitia, Airtight etc. According to Hasbro's website q&a they are on the way, but no mention as to when. Also, are the new 25th figures exclusive to hasbrotoyshop.com and at Toys R Us? Or will they be mass retail?

No way!!! That's not possible. Here is why.

Chuck Norris once invited all of the other ******es from TV to duke it out in order to see who was the supreme [censored]. Only two showed up-- Jack Bauer and MacGyver.

MacGyver immediately tried to make a bomb out of some Q-Tips and Gatorade, but Chuck Norris roundhouse-kicked him in the solar plexus. MacGyver promptly threw up his own heart.

Jack Bauer tried to use his detailed knowledge of torture techniques, but to no avail: Chuck Norris thrives on pain. Chuck Norris then ripped off Jack Bauer's arm and beat him to death with it. Game, set, match.

in the cartoon his uniform was the same color as with helmet...but his hood was a dk navy blue which would contrast nicely with the lt blue.

but who knows IF they were to make him they might make him dk blue all over with a gold cobra symbol like the original...but if that was the casr then why did they not make gung ho in his traditional colors.

also if they do make a lady jaye(and i hope they do) give her the cartoon colors dk green pants green shirt brown boots....NO baseball cap...but keep the javlen back pack video camera from the orginal figure and give her a MP-5 or a AR-15.

The mail-in idea would be cool. I really would love to see a hooded Cobra commander, Snakes Eyes V2 w/ Timber (if it isn't a just a rumour) and (don't everyone throw things at me at once!!) a V2 of Storm Shadow in his hooded camo-type outfit.

I must say about the above pics, I am very impressed. I'm glad they did the original commando type Snake Eyes. I really dug the statue that Palisades did a few years back that had him in the ribbed sweater type shirt and black pants. Bravo Hasbro!!

Instead of having a mail away hooded Cobra Commander Hasbro should save us some time and money and include the hooded head and let it be swappable. While Cobra Commander was the first mail away figure(?) its obvious to me that he's too important to this line to be a mail away figure. The mail away figure should be something that's a fan choice sort of deal sort of like the Lucas Stormtrooper, although who would have picked that version of Lucas over him in just plaid? *cough*no one*cough*... How about Sargent Slaughter as a mail away figure?

If anyone deserves a new figure, it's Flash. After all he is the only original Joe that hasn't had a re-release since 1983. (I'm sorry I don't count Astronaut Flash, since he's so lame.) As far as mail aways, can't we just let Sarge stay buried out in the garden where he belongs? I'd Say Major Bludd would be a good choice, or an updated Starduster.

With CC, if they make him similar to the last VvV Commander, then he'll be pretty cool. The only bad thing about the VvV CC was his paint job.

I have the list that LJ posted about a couple page ago, I think the first 25 are the 3 5-packs(a cobra one, a Joe one and a "driver" one) and then there's the 10 single packs..

1023 HAS61876 GIJ 3.75'' ANNIV KY DRVR ASST 6-53569-22815-8 3
1024 GIJ 3.75 ANNIVERSARY JOE TEAM 6-53569-22816-5

1079 GIJ 25TH ANNIV COBRA TROOPER 6-53569-25980-0

We saw the cobra trooper already, so I'm wondering(hoping) if we'll get a Viper... I can see them using the trooper mold for the driver 5-pack for the stinger driver, and I can see Clutch(or double clutch http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif ).. I wonder who the rest will be... and for the sigma six fans... I thought this was interesting...

No Zartan mentioned on any of these lists. He's an essential character in the RAH saga. And Firefly would make for a great re-release. One of my favorite, if not my all time favorite Cobra.

I would almost expect to see Ace before Steeler. Steeler didn't play a very big role in the comics or cartoons, whereas Ace was very prominent in the cartoons.

craggy

There neeeds to be a Zartan, especially if they're doing Buzzer. Seriously? Dude hung out with Cobra Commander all the time, CC even used to have Z show off all his mad skills to punk Destro. Was there an ep of the cartoon where Zartan didn't appear out from behind someone else's face revealing he'd been disguised as them all along? Plus he had a cool voice and a hood without any top connected to it!

Also, I've said it before, but now that Hasbro has the Marvel license we need some Marvel Joes. Captain America is the obvious one, or maybe Nick Fury, or even Wolverine/Logan. Heck a Frank Castle from 'Nam would go nicely with the comic pack Lonzo, Tommy and Classified.

I just ebay'd a 100% complete 84' rattler for 32 bucks. 10 dollars to ship and no Wild Weasel, but thats okay, if I keep my eyes peeled I know I can get one for like 4 bucks later. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

So, I totally think I got scammed on this. I went back to check on the seller when she didn't leave me feedback after about a week, even though I paid immediatly with paypal. She's no longer a registered user and her last few transactions were given highly negative feedback. I haven't filed yet with paypal, because I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now, but i'm pretty pissed cause 1. I already bought a Wild Weasel, and 2. I was one of the people who got hosed here on rebelscum by the ******-bag who took a bunch of money from us and ran in the Too cold for a garage sale thread. AHHHH, now I'm all worked up again......F&^%k http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

This message is pretty much for Lady_Jaye who I know is on right now and has kinda been following me on this(or at least listening to me rant about it), anyways, I spent about a week haggleing with these people over the rattler, and they kept proclaiming themselves as honest ebayers and that they'd get the package out ASAP. Finally I was just fed up and escalated my claim on paypal. I was never worried about getting my money back, since My paypal goes through my credit card, which will cover me. I was just pissed that in essence, I loaned 2 people margarita money while they were on a cruise. To make a lang event short, I went directly back to ebay where I found another newly listed rattler for 29.00, but this one is missing a wheel and it's damage panels. Oh well, I'm gonna hang it from the celing anyway. All's well that ends well, I guess http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

No, actually I have to wait for paypal to tell me they won't get me my mony back, then I'll call my credit card(again). Paypal, will only get you money back if the seller has a bank account attached to the paypal account or has unclaimed paypal money. Unfortunatly, scammers don't verify their acounts, and don't keep money in paypal. It's really just a crappy system where paypal is covering it's own butt so they don't have to take any responsibility for their service.

Paypal should be treated as an escrow account, where the seller isn't able to access the money until the buyer is happy with an item. Not only would that end scamming, but it might motivate some of the crappy sellers to actually use the faster shipping they make you pay for anyway,

Lady_Jaye
01-30-2007, 05:26 PM
Escrow sounds like a sound idea!! Of course we then get the scammers on the other end who say they never received the item or what not! Then the money that is owed to them could get returned, so they win on both counts!

It could mean 2 possible things
1. He's from the bluegrass state
2. He's lubricated

I had a similar situation not once, but twice. I was able to prove I shipped the items using customs and global priority tracking numbers and ebay STILL gave them their money. So they got the item and their money back. I will never again sell overseas. BAck on topic, when are more pics supposed to be up at Hasbro?

Nope, he's coming as a complete kitbash!! Using parts from other figures!! Those free figures are never new figures from what I've seen.

Edit: D'oh Thor found the kit bash, so need to head over to tni!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
