Anyone here know of any good display cases or shelves for displaying figures? I am not a carded collector ( I just don't have the room for it, and I like to display my stuff out of the package ), and have everything on one small shelf. But this shelf is running out of room quick and I need something good to keep all of these new figures displayed on. So does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

it all depends on the room you have. You want one small little display? Want something that goes against the wall, shelves you can screw intot he wall... something for vehicles, beasts.. or just figures.. how many figures we talking, Vintage to present.. 1995 to present.. AotC to present.. RotS to present..
See what I'm getting at? That's like asking.. "I'm thinking about getting a car, any suggestions?"

Yeah you have a point. I just need something that goes on the wall to display my loose figures. They're all from the first saga - present. No vintage or 1995 POTF2 or anything like that. I have a few beasts as well.. only vehicles I have are gunships and I hang those so I don't need a display case/shelf for those.

I has a couple of these wall displays from Ikea. I like them alot! Look great on a wall beside each other, doors easily accesible, but max viewing area. Fully adjustable shelves and hold a ton of loose figures.
I know I've seen these in a few peoples collections in the Collector's Collections Gallery.
Here's a link ... Ikea display (http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15561&catalogId=10103&storeId=12&productId=60979&langId=-1&parentCats=15561*15639*15645)

Here is what I use: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/knuckles173/DSCN1501.jpg

The nicer one is from Ikea, they have the best display shelves. The small wooden one is from WalMart I believe, but the both work very well. Dusting is a pain though.

I got a couple of DETOLF stands from Ikea for my large unleashed figures and the DETOLF work great.

Hey Nute, I did not see any of the "nicer one from Ikea", do you remember the name or when you purchased it?

This was purchased back in November. Sorry, I do not remember the name but it was on sale so I got it for $60. It came with sliding doors as well, but I didn't put those on.

A few years back I went to HomeDepot and bought a ton of wall mount brackets and shelves and tossed my stuff on them. Works great, and oddly enough they don't seem to collect or attract much dust....

Episode 1 (Sort of) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v24/jay12501/Other/IMG_0288.jpg)

Episode 2 (with a little bit of Episode 1 and my prized Star Wars DVD display I got thanks to my girlfriend!) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v24/jay12501/Other/IMG_0287.jpg)

Episodes 3 and 4 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v24/jay12501/Other/IMG_0286.jpg)

Episode 5 (with a bit of 4 and 6) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v24/jay12501/Other/IMG_0285.jpg)

Episode 6 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v24/jay12501/Other/IMG_0284.jpg)

My rooms a bit disorganized as of late, but the shelves help keep everything off the floor and out of the way. Pretty soon though all that is getting boxed up and tossed into storage - I'm moving up north to go to school and live with my girlfriend for the foreseeable future http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh, and here's a hint about the setup: Read the shelves from left to right http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wouldn't exactly recommend doing what I did though if you're looking to take a cheaper route on displaying your stuff. It cost a few hundred for the shelves and the wall mount brackets I have, but like I said I like it because it keeps everything off the floor and out of the way.

Did not see any at Ikea in Dallas and it is not on their website. It looks great and for $60 that was a steal. I wonder if it was discontinued?

down the line , whenever i settle into my own home or even town house before the home, i'm going to build a bar, and incompass figures, some loose and some carded and have a star wars themed bar, so if there isn't anything thing to do , i can drink beer and have a great display all around me

All of my bookcases are encrusted (I mean that literally -- I never dust!) with action figures. Makes getting to the books kinda awkward, but ... oh, well!

Nice setup you got there, 12501. I think I may do the same you did, but I am limited with wallspace. I may build some kind of display inside my closet. It's a walk-in and i ripped the doors out so it's wide open. Plus I don't keep much in there.

Thanks Mike http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the best way to describe my stuff is "a few diorama's gone horribly wrong" http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I was originally going to use a few shelves and just display each line (POTF2, POTJ, Episode 1, etc) since I used to collect just one of each figure. But then I got the idea to sort of "re-create" the movies using figures, sort of in diorama form.....and, well, whats in the pics is what I've accumulated over the last 5 years (I've been collecting for about ten now, but the last 5 years involved me buying figures in order to complete as much of whats there as possible).

I'd prefer a smaller room, sort of a walk-in-closet type setup but maybe a bit bigger, but unfortunately I'm about to bow out of collecting since I'll be moving and concentrating on my schoolwork, studies, etc.

Do you have an ikea near you? They have glass displays for like $60 - I have five for my loose figs.

Definitely looking forward to them -finally- opening an Ikea near me. Don't care if it'll take 45min to drive there, it's better than shipping cost. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyhow, what I thought looked really unique was the setup of a collection highlighted as a new entry off of the main page at here (http://www.rebelscum.com/c-eiberger.asp). Creative use of space and nothing like what I've seen in other collections.

Here's the link to the Detolf cabinets. I love these things - just wish they had a few more shelves...
