I was watching this brianstoys auction for a Luke dt sabre. I have no problems with the auction and must admit the sabre looks real. However I can't believe that AFA won't decide either way. All the revalve sabres are good but they certainly aren't 29 years old, and surely can be identified by experts. What do you think the problem was with this sabre? Is it just that it didn't have any lettering on the hilt?

I believe this auction was already discussed in another thread and Tom Derby of CIB (who provides the expert authenitcation services to the AFA for pieces like this) searched through his records and did find it was indeed one that he was not able to authenticate. I'll see if I can find the other thread to link to.

EDIT: Sorry, ran out of time and couldn't find it, but I know it was a recent thread soemwhere in the vintage area of AFA. If someone else remembers maybe they could link it. Thanks.
