$1,500 for a Maul SE? And he says how it's a really rare low number -- 135 is NOT a low number. It's low relative to, say, 1,200, but a low number is #23 or something.

I'm not sure what to think of this.

This sellers version of what Vader's elite guard should've looked like (http://cgi.ebay.com/ELITE-STORMTROOPER-DELUXE-ARMOR-COSTUME-STAR-WARS_W0QQitemZ7598927264QQcategoryZ790QQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem)

Yeah that is weird. What's up with the "land of the rising sun" motif on the chest plate? The red highlights and cape just don't make any sense. Although there are minor differences between the different storm troopers based on rank and specialty, these difference were often simplistic in design (not with a ton of color highlights and logos). If there were to be a Vader "honor guard" like the emporers guards (but what does Vader need body guards for?) then the uniforms would most likely be a single color, with a helmet different from other troopers and perhaps slightly different body armor. Not having watched the original trilogy in some time, I believe that regular storm troopers filled this role in ROTJ (someone can correct me if I'm wrong).

Q: Did you hear me? I want this item for $10 dollars! Now reply to me!!! I am a buyer and I am entitled to an answer!!!
A: This is a simple answer $10 dollars is nothing near the asking price and don't bother replying back. I do not answer questions that are not near my reserve .

Q: is this poster a real poster or one of those fake posters I keep hearing about.
A: This is a real poster I my self got it out of my album(vinyl records). The album has not been protected by the force but the poater was.My mother put it in a frame formme.

Wow, the coolest thing about that hummer is that it's right here in Oregon! I drive by PGE Park every weekend going to the bars, or when I'm going downtown for whatever other reason. The license plate is just like mine, too, same Oregon plate with the tree. That thing is so cool, I want it badly... maybe not $150,000 badly though http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have to admit if I was going to spend that level of money for a car, I'd be looking for something more like my dad's Ferrari, something where I can actually pick up chicks and feel cool, not feel like the king of all dorks, haha http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif Anyway I have enough nerdy stuff in my room not to have to drive it around too, lol.

Not really -- a Ferrari is a way better car to me. My dad has an Aston Martin Vantage DB-7, too, and it's nowhere near a Ferrari. There is nothing that beats the aesthetic appeal and built-for-racing appeal of a Ferrari to me. There are plenty of other nice cars, but when you drive around, absolutely nobody knows what an Aston Marin is basically, they just think it's a weird looking Jaguar. But when he drives the Ferrari around, everyone knows what it is, haha, and it's 100 times better looking, plus it's well faster because it's more than 1,000 pounds lighter and has about the same horsepower but a higher max speed and 0 to 60 time. I guess it's all personal preference, though. My friend Karl would rather have the Aston Martin; my two friends Sean O and Sean C would rather have the Ferrari, and I'm with them, hehe.

Eh, I get it now, but I still find it just as ridiculous. I wouldn't pay a dime for a broken piece of trash without a display case, plaque, or anything. It's utterly worthless. I can't believe someone would pay even $150 for that, yet one went for $422 a few weeks ago just like that. You can get a real prop for that price, i.e. one that isn't a broken pile of crap. Sorry, nothing against AJ Collecting at all, they're just doing their job, and there are naturally going to be broken items, but why people would bid so much on them? I have no clue.

The Aston is not a "show" off car tho, its alot more of a classy car ,a car with sole, i personally like Ferrari but i would never own one especially in red.

But anyway back to the thread....

JonathanLB
03-17-2006, 05:27 AM
haha, yeah that's true, the Aston is classy but a Ferrari is still more expensive (usually). And if you get a Ferrari, it has to be red http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif I love a red Ferrari, my favorite general type of car, and specifically the Enzo Ferrari, followed by my dad's 360 Modena.

Yes, back to the thread, only I haven't seen much more ridiculous lately. So someone post! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif I wanted to see more questions for the $200,300 poster dude.

Oh yeah.
I really like his stuff. He had another AT-AT with everything(including the plaque which was #3), but there were only two small pieces that broke off. It looked like though from the picture that the two pieces could easily be put back on.
The final bid I think was around $400.

Yeah I suppose if you can do your own fix-it-at-home with the AT-AT that's cool. I mean $800-$1,100 is very expensive, no doubt about that, I just wouldn't really want to trust something I knew was broken. Then again, I have no talent at fixing things *whatsoever*, some of you guys are amazing at creating your own stuff, and probably could fix something like that pretty easily.

When I first saw AJ Collecting stuff, I didn't know his deal with MR, so I just assumed someone broke all that themselves and was selling it, haha, so I was like, "What the heck? How could someone have lost the case, broken three legs, and lost the plaque and COA?" But now it all makes sense. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah, I have a couple of SE AP's; Dooku, Luke ESB, and Windu.

Personally I think 3k for a Vader ESB SE AP is way over the top. I could see $1500, but really thats about it. Saber prices have dropped a lot lately on ebay, even for AP's. I don't think it will sell, but I could be mistaken. If he listed it for $1500 it probably would be gone within a day or two.

The ONLY reason I can see, if someone was overseas, and could save a serious bundle on shipping, vs. MR's rather expensive international shipping.

I actually wouldn't mind getting this, but the guy has to fix his shipping calculator. Says he wants $18 to ship USPS Priority (uninsured) from IL to TX. For a single .45 box, it shouldn't be more than $6. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

But nevertheless, that's kind of a neat error.

Strangely I have an Obi AOTC (without a plaque or anything) with very similar damage to that described and shown in the pics including the dent in the pommel cube. In addition mine has a nasty dent and distortion of the emitter as well. The funny thing is when up on display on a shelf more than a couple of feet away you can't spot anything wrong with it at all.

As soon as you pick it up and have a good look though you see all the flaws. So for anyone after a display piece that would not be seen up close this might be an option (if it goes cheap that is).

Fortunately I also have one without blemishes as well http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe one day - I haven't quite decided what to do with it yet. I also have a quite badly damaged Luke ESB LE (I also have a perfect one of those as well), that's why I have two on the registry (as the second ESB has a plaque - I didn't register the second Obi as it has no plaque and therefore no number).

I'm certainly interested in what the Obi auction goes for....

Not the two that I've seen in person. Lower build quality, don't look as good, and not as accurate.

They were the first officially licensed versions though, and for some collectors they will always have a special place for them.

Those auctions featuring saber lots make me wonder if some of these sabers were stolen. They don't seem to know too much about them and some how they lost their COAs, while moving of course. Why not have the COAs with the sabers at all times? Maybe cause they couldn't find them or knew they existed while they were stealing them.
