View Full Version : What's your Premium Format Vader #?

02-04-2006, 06:26 PM
I just got my SS Exclusive Vader today and he is quite awesome. The lights just do it for me and it has an even light on the saber too. I was surprised to receive a relatively low number 58 of 2000 compared with others who have been receiving up to #350 already in the past week. I thought these were sent out in sequence by Sideshow.
Anyway, troops, post your numbers! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

#297 for me. The lowest Sideshow number I have is a #9 Luke Skywalker from Comic-Con.

Some people love their low numbers, and more power to them. LOL

Vader #9 here......... had #5 SDCC Luke.

Jesse- How did you get such a low number? Just luck, or do you have some mysterious connections?

02-10-2006, 12:48 AM
Just got him today, #500. Not bad considering I was on the wait list.

I feel lucky I got him at all.

There are a lot of people (like me too, haha) who like low numbers. It's kind of silly, in a way, but there's just something cool about it. I guess maybe you either feel that way or you don't, and if you don't, I'm not sure it's explainable really.

My only experience with this is a #1 Clone Trooper helmet from MR (I post on the props forum mainly), and getting that was just really special, totally random and lucky, but oh so cool.

#366 here.

Mine was in the 240 range, but I had to send it back because it has a defective base. I'll probably end up with a REALLY high number once I get the replacement :-(

I just received mine today. #1061/2000. I am very pleased with this overall. I also didn't realize how huge this statue is. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

02-10-2006, 10:21 PM
Yes, size is a problem! I was struggling to find or clear some desktop space for my Vader too! These guys are huge, but beautifully detailed. I have a PF exclusive Han Solo too and a PF Leia on order. Congrats everybody on your new Vaders!

#378 here. This statue is just too cool! The cape and tunic are awesome and the light up is just incredible. It is so huge!!

Received #795 today.

"Oh my God!". That's what I said as I removed it from the box. Having been a Star Wars collector since the first movie came out back in 1977, I can assure you, I haven't said that too many times when it comes to items in my collection. This thing is just amazing in every way. Having seen some of the early prototype photos, like just about everyone else, I had a couple of concerns. Well, now actually having this piece in my hands, having set it up on it's base, attaching the cape, and lighting up the electronics, all I can say is, that this is easily, one of the centerpieces of my entire collection and THE centerpiece of my Vader collection.
The coolness factor is just off the charts when you can actually see and touch this collectable in person. No pictures I have seen, whether from Sideshow or rebelscum members, have done this thing justice. And there have been a lot of cool photos posted on this board. It blows away any other statue, bust, 12" figure, etc, that has been produced to date.
If you're still on the fence, I highly recommend getting it. I just couldn't conceive anyone buying this, having it in hand, and not being happy with their purchase.
For Vader collectors, the only thing that would be cooler, imho, would be an actual screen-worn or at least, screen-accurate Vader costume on a life-size mannequin.

About the only negative I can mention is the exclusive Mouse Droid. I just think it's kind of a silly extra to include with Vader. I think most collectors would agree that the Interrogation Droid used on Leia in Episode IV, would've made more sense and would've been a much cooler extra. The Mouse Droid actually should've been saved as an exclusive for when/if Sideshow releases a Chewbacca PF statue. At least they actually interacted on screen.
But that's a minor quibble and has nothing to do with the Vader figure itself. For those who argued that because it was a statue wearing an actual costume, this was the equivalent of a big doll, all I can say is, I'd love to see your doll collection because if this is comparable to them, then that must be a most impressive doll collection.

I picked up the Luke Skywalker PF statue for a great price last year on Ebay, and am glad I now have both of these. I will definitely be trying to get Han, Leia, etc. in the future. Sideshow has made a loyal customer out of me.

It is awesome and I totally agree especially with your point that it is the center of your Vader collection. I feel the same way and could care less about my GG Vader busts and any other Vader statue or 12" in my collection. It is that good!
Also agree on the whole "experience" of it. I don't think I have been this excited before, after or during the set up process for any collectible I have in my collection except for maybe the Han Solo ANH blaster by Master Replicas.
It was like Christmas right out of the blue! Okay, I've said enough about this already, but it really is that much of a must have and if your on the fence, pretend it's an electric one and jump to the dark side! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well I finally got my Sideshow Exlusive 1/4 Scale Darth Vader Premium Format Figure in the mail today. I got #444 of 2000. I haven't opened it yet since I don't have my glass display case yet, but man this thing is big and really heavy. I can't wait to put it up!

02-14-2006, 06:22 PM
I received #726! (http://community-2.webtv.net/Mini-Rock/MyNewDirection/) http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Don't hesitate getting it out of the box. I don't have a glass case for mine either, but I just cover it with the clear plastic bag that came with it. Believe it or not, it looks pretty cool when the bag is lit up, sort of reminds me of the dark, misty cave on dagaboh-even Darth looks like he's in the mist. I pull off the plastic bag on occasion - this will work for now till I have time to figure out how to display him.
