I am new to the vintage collecting, and would like some feedback on my first purchase on ebay. Take a look and tell me what you think...

I'm a vintage collector for about a year now, Card looks good, bubble is clear, nice pick up, just to let you know you're on a path you can't come back from. LOL Vintage Kills the Wallet.

That is a great piece.

Vintage definately hurts the wallet.
And yes there is no stopping once you start till you have them all!!!! HA HA HA HAAAAA HAAHAHA HA HA!

Thats why chose to restore as an alternative. Scroll to the bottom of the last page. (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB7&Number=1096543&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=2)

Pretty cool! I can see how it's addictive ... I recieved my first vintage figure for a secret santa present this year ... a vintage Snowtrooper...peg punch still in and all!

But I just can't bring myself to pay that sort of cash. To me it makes more sense to be patient and wait for a complete (or partial)collection to come up for auction/sale ... either on EBay or at a convention/auction house. I've seen it happen several times and to me it just makes more sense (if you're a completist) to do that other than get each figure separately over time.

Thanks MaddysDaddy!

I think you may be correct! I love looking for the current stuff, but being someone that had this stuff as a kid, I really want to collect it again! I was a bit timid acquiring this piece, but thought, what the heck!

Yeah I remember saying to my girlfriend, "I'm only collecting POTF2 and up " My vintage collection stands at 35 figures carded total, 30 AFA graded and 5 in Starcases, Now she just looks at me and shakes her head.

Yeah, I can see how this will get expensive. I want to get a few pieces that I can keep and pass to my kids. It is cool to have a figure that I played with when I was a lot younger. I will probably by a few more, but thatís about it. I would LOVE to get a Boba Fett, but WOW is he $$$$$$!

I would love to collect vintage figs but I can't afford them. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Since i decided to start my project, i have acquired all the vintiage figures i didnt have (loose) except for yak face.
When i have him, the circle will be complete! That alone was addictive just trying to get all the ones i wanted.
Wile not as pricey as graded/carded figs...it can still be

Hey Joe, have you checked out Vintage Classifieds at all?
You may be able to come across a good buy once in a while, and you wont have to bid against a bunch of other people like on e-bay.
I pick up stuff here on Rebelscum all the time (Modern though, not vintage) and have gotten some pretty fair deals.

BTW, Glassman, your project is looking great, I was looking at the pictures last night in Customs. The figures look like brand new.
Did you do the backs of the cards too?....
Nevermind, I know the answer. The question should be, are those 12-backs??? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Glassman - I stand in stunned awe at your work. That is some incredible stuff you did on your vintage cards/figures! Absolutely awesome work!!!
