Best pics of Han I have seen. I know others have posted some threads but their pics were REALLY bad. This is caps' Han from statueforum. Much better pics than the current ones on Sideshow's site.

Worth the money for sure!

I also appreciate the post. This makes me feel a lot better about my 1/4 Leia pre-order.

No offense to anyone else who posted pics of their Han, but some of the pics were so bad it really made the piece look hideous.

FinallY! I've seen a few pix of Han from prople who have gotten him or on e-bay, and except for the prototype(which looks awesome) yours is the first one that looks LIKE the prototype! I'd still love to get one of those.

These are the first pictures to do this piece any justice.

I was worried about what I was going to get from looking at the updated pics on the SS site a while back, but now that I have it in hand I don't have any complaints.

And, that is how this piece has been received by those who got it. It really has to be seen in order to truly appreciate what an amazing piece it is. Everyone who has seen mine loves it.

Yes Sir! I sure do. I have both the exclusive and regular on order as well as every other SS SW PF Statue and 1:1 bust. Personally, I'm equally excited to get all the 1/4 pieces and 1:1 busts announced since they will now be my main focus for my collection. I can't wait until Vader ships! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Been looking over your pics. Did you have to adjust the collar and/Or reposition the hands? Also, is the gun removeable from the holster?

Jesseawilson
01-23-2006, 11:01 AM
The answer to all your questions is yes. The collar comes in the normal position and you have to fold it back. The hands come facing outwards for shipping and you have to bend them down. And the gun is most definitely removable.

I just got a Han on Ebay for a good price. I've never spent that much on an auction before, so Im a little nervous. But the seller had about 1000 feed vack and 99.5% postive.

It's kind of a mix of both. It's a polystone statue like the GG pieces but bigger and they have real clothes on or mixed media like the 12" figures.

Jesseawilson

I have not, MiniRock has tons of thier cases and he loves them. There are some other sights that allow you some more options like glass back and no base and even one where you can choose the thickness of the acrylic.

Me personally I am trying to decide what I want to do. If I am going to have 10 figures in cases at $100-$150/case I might as well spend $1500 on a nice enclosed glass case to put them in. In actuality it will be less as it will be home made but you get the idea.

Jesse is right! I do love'em! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

These are definitely high quality cases. A number of collector's on multiple forums get their cases from CFC, and swear by them. I first heard of CFC back when I joined RS from fellow scummer Adam (BigDumbWookie) and have been hooked since. I highly recommend them.

As for price, the Luke and Han cases ran about $100 each with shipping, but they are completely worth it IMO. CFC is located in Ohio, so shipping would be a little less the closer you live. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Check your yellow pages for plexiglass dealers. There's one in my town that all you have to do is call and tell them dimensions, and they'll have one made in a few days. How big is his base? I was thinking of a piece of black plexiglass centered over another piece of black plexi glass. perhaps 10"X10" 1/8' thick 101/4 X 10 1/4, Then a plexiglass cover 1/8 thick sheet measuring 19"X10"X10"

Just have to learn the size of the base. Don't want too much dead space around him.

Thanks man. I at first thought they were like GG statues, but then I noticed the cloth clothing, and I thought they were 12 inchers. The new line of Jedi they are making are very cool, and the price is reasonable. I could not pay $250 or whatever Han Solo goes for when it comes to a tricked out 12 incher.

I think I will stick with GG and Attakus.

It's an even stronger statue in person. Definately worth it. I'm not sure what they are going for right now, but when I got mine late last year, they were going for pretty cheap on eBay.
In general though it looks like the Sideshow Star Wars PF market is slowly rising back up in price, but still less than MSRP.

i've always wondered a few things about the PFs:

how heavy are they?

i've always wondered a few things about the PFs:

It depends on the figure. Generally you should assume they are *not* poseable. Some have limited articulation to help them achieve the intended pose while accounting for manufacturing variabilities (for example, Han has wire in the arm so you can bend it a bit and get the perfect "thumb in the belt" pose). Once in a while, there's some more traditional articulation (Boba's head is on a ball joint), but for the most part, these are statues.

how heavy are they?

Again, it depends on the specific statue and it varies wildly. They are mixed-material pieces, so it depends on how much metal, polystone and plastic ended up in the specific piece as well as the size of the character.

deathstar1000
07-27-2007, 01:30 PM
No possability at all. Maybe SLIGHT arm movement to fit some accessories, but for the most part it is not possable.

In regards to weight, it depends on the figure. Fett is light compared to the Grevious.

Yep, Mister Gosh said it all...

I am not a big fan of the limited articulation on the PF's. I always get worried that I am going to snap it while adjusting the statue.

thanks for the answers, but they do bring up another question, a lot of people call these statues and some call them figures. Statue to me implies that it's made of stone or some other hard material that was carved. For the most part are the base figures made of plastic or polystone or another material?

Again, you can't really say what the #1 material is in these because so much different stuff goes into them. For the most part, the basic body of the figure is polystone (with the exception of Boba Fett). The costume and accessories are different materials, depending on the nature of the outfit.

I would definitely consider them more as statues than "figures". They aren't meant to be posed in a variety of ways- those pieces that do have limited articulation are such that you can achieve the exact pose you like and leave it that way.

I have to say that Sideshow has done a bang-up job with these "premium Format" figure line. I was a little worried that I would look cheesy like the “KISS” figures that were put out through “Spencer’s” shops. You really appreciate the detail and quality of these figures, and realize these are art pieces when you come face to face with one.

I remember I saw her too. Never would have thunk it looking at her. Weird.

And to think she could have just posted here and had Sideshow ship one right to her door. But she'd have to be lucky as hell...

Yeah I'm still dazed. Luck makes no sense, and it hits like a train. I wish I'd been lucky like this before so I could have seen it coming. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for the congratulations deathstar1000 and Neal. Rebelscum and Sideshow are the best there's ever been!!!!!!!!!! (insert rockin Charlie Daniels fiddle solo here) I think I'm going to start sending them both Christmas cards.

Now I have to figure out what the hell to do with a 20" Han Solo. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

That easy. Get the PF Luke and Leia to go with it. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No kidding. The first thing that crossed my mind was how cool it would be to have a MR Millenium Falcon. Or a MR Solo blaster. Or both. Then I slapped myself.

Now that's a hot peach pie drizzled with honey and served with french vanilla ice cream if I ever read it.

Thanks lady. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I think I'm going to do it a lot more often. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

FedEx delivered Han today, and at the risk of overstaying my welcome here after doing such horrible damage to the other thread (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=2592282&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#2592282), I'll keep it short.

It's an amazing statue. The paint is clean, the accessories are well detailed and the tailoring is perfect. My only concern is that he doesn't seem to be in scale with Leia at all. He's significantly larger. Even when the different heights of the stands are accounted for, the top of her head barely makes to his shoulder.

So I guess I'll just have to wait for them to make Chewbacca for him to have company. I wonder if GG's R2 will look good with the Princess. (Or maybe Sideshow will make separate statues for the droids!)

Thanks again to Dave and Sideshow. You've given me a spectacular piece of art, and added levels of complexity and confusion to my collection that I had never believed possible. Talk about a sword that's got an edge whichever way you turn it...

I'll have to compare mine again...Han didn't seem too out of scale compared to Leia the last I looked at it.

So it's just my imagination? No one else sees a discrepancy? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't have either of the two PFs, but Leia is supposed to be small. She's barely taller than 5'0". Is the discrepancy worse than it is with two correctly-scaled Hasbro figures?

I just looked at my statues, and they're right on. Leia doesn't come much taller than Han's shoulders:

I'll be damned. That's exactly what the statues look like. I wonder why they looked so off. Now I'm even more confused.
