Very cool propaganda poster. May I make a suggestion? Make a second one that has non-English words. Go here for some Star Wars languages, it might be kind of cool to see some with a language we don't understand -

STAR WARS FONTS (http://www.erikstormtrooper.com/fonts.htm)

Just an idea since on Coruscant we do see some billboards with text on them, just not in English.

My very own "NEW AUREBESH" fonts is still out there !!!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Man, how old is this. Around 8 years, I think.

BTW, agree with Chewie, to include some outerworld fonts. Other than that, nice idea and great image.

Those fonts are always a fun time. Thanks for the tips.

These are a blend of WW2 Propaganda with a Republic theme.

As you will see with some of the upcoming posters English is the right choice to get the message across, would hate for something to be ďlost in translationĒ. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yeah! I think that looks very cool - already nice before, but I think the new lettering really gives it that Star Wars feel - sometimes not knowing exactly what it says makes it even more cool. Opens the imagination up to many possibilities.

I already saw the "Someone Talked", which is excellent and obviously directly inspired by a very real WWII poster.

However, the best is definitely the "Your Credits Fuel Our Rockets". Wow! Love it! Great, great!!

I don't really get the point of the "Less Independent" one....How does proudly touting the genetic deficiencies of clones rally support for the Republic cause?

Maybe I'm being nitpicky about that last one. But great work nevertheless!!

During world war 2 many print and commercial advertisements stressed conserving recourses so that it can be used for the war effort. One of the ways they went about getting the massage across was to use Guilt. They would literally print posters that would state ďWhen you ride alone you side with Hitler.ď Basically share a car ride to work in order to conserve gas.

As for Mr. Smiths hair. Itís a still from the movie were its blowing in the wind. Since Iím not a hair stylist I left it that way. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Flacksguy LOL thatís signature is just my sloppy handwriting. I most likely spelled emperor wrong too.

dirtnapper and massoh2 I never thought that anyone would want to print these out so I made them to fit on a 8x10. These might be up on a Cafť press site soon as Post Cards, Fridge magnets or something else fun. Iíll mail you when its up.

McCusto I didnít have time yesterday to comment on your poster but I liked the first one that was up better. If your using Photoshop I can give you some steps in creating text. Check back later.

By all means I would like to see what other can come up with. Just donít be disappointed If I post something similar since I have a lot more in the works.

Yes, the reason why I took the first one down was because I spelled galactic wrong, and when I tried to cover it up via paint, it just ruined it, so I started over >.<

And yes, I am using Photoshop for it.

Yep LOL! Most of these posters I made about 2 years ago. Another friend of mind pointed out that MR used something along the same lines for C3. Doesn't surprise me my war propaganda is not that original in the first place. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Here is the translation:

Up and Down: SERVE

Bottom 1st row: Join the Galactic Republic Today!

Bottom 2nd row: Be a pilot, a trooper, a garrison commander, an AT-TE Gunner, a fleet commander, and much, much more!

and for the backround I used a screenshot I took from AOTC, than I used an artist filter to make it look like that.

Nice job McCusto. Looks like you have a good grasp of the cut out filter in photoshop.

Here is a quick way (there are other ways) to make your text bend and reshape.

1. Type your text.
2. Right click on the text layer in the layers window.
3. Select "rastersize". What that does is make your text a shape.
4. select the shape than go to transform tool under the image menu. Then do what ever you want to it.

Thatís a cool poster you found. I see were you're going with what you did, only the pictures you used did not convey any sort of message.

Something more like a photo of the super laser in motion hitting the planet would be along the same lines as the ships on fire sinking in the harbor.

Look at the message the artist put into the war poster. If you take the words off you would still get the idea that Uncle Sam is pretty displeased with what heís looking at.

You should strive to say what needs to be said with out words first, assuming that the person looking at it has no idea about EP4.

I was recently looking through a WW2 magazine and saw some German propaganda pics that would be interesting to see done up for the Republic.

One had a young boy in the fore ground and then a soldier in the background. Can't recall the actual title but I can get it if interested, anyways just an idea...
