Was just wondering in our area , MD/DC/Virginia, How many Vintage figures MOC or AFA does everybody have. Myself I have 30 AFA Figures and about 15 MOC not AFA. I told myself 10 years ago that I'm only collecting modern stuff, then i bought my first vintage figure and i was hooked.

I don't have any vintage. Where did you buy yours?

My parents gave away all my vintage stuff when I was in High School.
That's right, every last figure, vehicle, everything. And I had a good amount of stuff.
Don't worry, I forgave them.

I pick up a vintage item on E-bay here and there, if it's an item I really liked as a kid, and it's not too expensive.
I have a vintage AT-AT, AT-ST, 12-Back Sand Person, and a few loose figures that my kids play with.

I always said I would never collect them (prices were out of my league) but a few weeks back one of the attorneys at my office came in w/ a box of 12 vintage MOMC figures. His dad bought 2 of each when he was a kid and had just given them to him.

Anyway, he knew I was a huge fan/collector so he brought them in to me so I could maybe tell him what they were worth. It was beyond describable holding all those MINT CARDED vintage figures...4 were from the very initial wave...so i had easily over $4k in figures in my office.

Well it turned out he got me for the office secret santa! We did our swap last week and he gave me a MOMC Snowtrooper! I mean it doesnt even have the peg hole punched out!!! I had told him that was my sentimental favorite since its the first figure I clearly remember getting (was from the Easter Bunny actually).

So anyway, yes, I'm hooked too. The only thing keeping me back is my lack of $$$ while in school.

Wow, that's a good story.

Hey, ask that guy if he can be MY secret santa too!

Are there any local places like card or comic shops that sell any vintage star wars figs.

Storewise the vintage figures are tough to come by at least in the Baltimore Metro area, they pop up at flea markets like the one at North Point once and awhile but the cards are usually c-5 or lower.

I have about 20 vintage figures.
They were all my original toys, played with and mangled.
I plan on using my custom techniques to re-furbish them to a somewhat new look.
Since i've gottnen into doing vintage customs, i want to revive my vintage collection.

Here is an example... My vintage Clone trooper evolutions

Here is my original post in the Customizing Section. (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB7&Number=1096543&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=2)
It explains it all.

The card backs are printed on an inkjet printer and glued to a thin piece of carboard.
