View Full Version : Diamond Exclusive Bounty Hunter set

Hey another rehashed set of figures!

This will save me some money seeing that none of the figures are new.

That Vader (TRU Imperial set, OTC hoth attack, dvd 3 pack, Emperor's wrath) is sure getting some mileage, and that Boba Fett is achieving Cantina Han status (300th figure, TRU Bounty Hunter set, Target Slave 1).

As far as I can tell these are all rehashed (POTF: Zuckus, 4LOM. OTC: Dengar, Bossk. Vader and Boba Fett (mentioned above), IG 88 (POTJ/OTC).

Darth_Broem

Yeah, they are rehashes. Get used to it. We are probably going to be seeing plenty of this next year. At least it is an exclusive. It is a cool idea. It's just to bad most everyone has these allready. A new sculpt of 4-LOM and Zuckuss would have helped my interest.

Do you agree with my Darth_Broem, those two figures look the the POTF ones?

I would have bought it is the sculpts on 4Lom and Zuckass (yes it's a pun) were updated from the POTF2 days. It's summer time, the boys at Hasbro are just showing their lazy summer attitude with this set. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

How much will this cost?

nagauthier

Since it's Diamond, they'll probably cost more than they're worth. And some comic shops will likely jack the prices up even more.

Great for MOC/MIB collectors, seems to be great for display. Not interresting for openers that are here since POTF2.

My original post in the same thread in the OTC section:

It's a nice-looking set, but I'm not sure if I see the need to get it. I'm an opener, so this set really offers nothing new to me. I may buy one to keep boxed, because I think it looks great ... but that will only happen if I find myself not buying much during that time period.

If it's a Diamond Exclusive you can bet that it will be fairly high priced, as someone said earlier some comic shops will even mark them up even more, that is if they don't take all of them for themselves and throw them on EBay. I hate comic shop exclusives cause for one thing there are hardly any good comic shops in my area and I never saw the 12 inch Sandtrooper exclusive they had a few years ago, never saw it at one comic shop, and I checked alot.

jwmc1971
07-11-2005, 03:19 PM
yeah , the price for this is anywhere from 50 to 60 $ or more plus shipping ..does DC only ship from overseas or do they have a dist. center here in US , that will add more to cost..

Grrrr.

I've been planning to make a diorama for months now with Imperial Forces Vader, 300th Fett, etc., etc. I was ecstatic when they released a new Dengar and Bossk last year. And, I was thrilled when, during last year's Hurricane evacuations, I found a 4-LOM at a reasonable price at some hobby shop.

Now I have a choice: sell the existing 6 figures I have on eBay and buy the new pack, or go on an endless quest for a reasonably-priced Zuckuss on eBay...

Grrr.

Jedieb
07-11-2005, 07:13 PM
I'm an opener so there's nothing new here for me. I really think all these reissues are a mistake. We know what happens without movies. The line gets carried by collectors. Most collectors already have these. Every once in awhile is fine, but it seems most of what's been leaked in the last couple of days is reissue boredom. Ughh.

stylie_steve
07-11-2005, 07:29 PM
A lot of people missed out on getting Zuckuss when he first come out so he will be the selling point of these set.

However he was a bit of a pegwarmer over here back in the day and I have all the figures in the set and it doesn't look like any of them are changed at all so I will pass on it.

jedisrus
07-11-2005, 07:32 PM
I think ROTS brough a lot of new collectors into the fold. I, for one, never bought much more than the main characters. Now I'm buying much more and looking for some older figures that I missed out on. As long as Hasbro finds a good balance between new figures, new sculpts on previous figures, and re-hashes, I think we can all find a happy place.

morpheus
07-11-2005, 07:42 PM
I like this exclusive. It looks like it should be pretty nice for the MOC/MIB collectors, and it gives newer collectors a convenient way to get all of the bounty hunters at once. Best of all, since I'm an opener who's been in it since 1995, I don't feel any need to buy it. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm a collector who's just got into Star Wars toys this year and must admit that all these reissues and the like are really good for those of us who've not been carrying the line for years already. I don't know if I'll get this pack in particular, but I'm all over the Jedi/Sith battle pack, and the Hoth and Imperial ones look good (hope we get the throne there though).

Just got mine today from my local comic shop. Same price and no shipping. Works out to be about $5/fig. not too shabby for an exclusive.

The set is great, simple Saga style packaging, but something about it, it's just nice seeing all the bounty hunters + Vader all stading there with the bridge as a background. the only subtle difference is that my fett bubble doesn't quite hold him perfectly, they sort of had to cram the rocket in to get it to fit in the bubble.

Still a GREAT little exclusive! I love it!

Yeah, I kind of liked that, with me the issue is always space. and here we have a great set with lots of figs packed into a fairly small box w/display window that displays very well without taking up tons of room on a shelf.

I'll take this 7 pack any day vs. the larger (at least twice the size) square 4 packs and battle packs Hasbro pumped out in recent years.

OK, I picked up two of these yesterday (one to open, one to keep boxed, because they look sweet all together like that!)

Now, unless I'm wrong, its:

Darth Vader - Same ol' same ol
Dengar - Straight repack from Saga 1
IG-88 - Straight POTJ repack
Bossk - is this a kitbash with the Saga torso and POTF2 head, legs and arms
Boba Fett - is this straight 300th figure, or are those the Carkoon arms?
4-LOM - new paint job. Greener eyes, and his naught bits branding is clearer
Zuckuss - slightly new paint job.

Sound right to everyone?

The Sandcrawler kills this exclusive.

Heh-heh. Glad to see someone who agrees. So many people hated the Sandcrawler, but it remains one of the all time favorites of my collection. (I always, always wanted it as a kid.) I thought the OTC version was absolutely amazing. The paint job was just killer, and the original 1978 mold was so richly detailed, I was thrilled that Hasbro didn't mess with it. Diamond truly answered my prayers by picking it up. The packaging looked great, too.

This Bounty Hunter exclusive is nice though. I won't buy it as I have all the figures, but it does display nice. And wouldn't this be an awesome gift for some kid who loves Star Wars?

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point we see a cantina version of this. There are lots of figs like the four armed gasmasked alien or the duro that could be revisited or even improved with new paintjobs that would make plenty of collectors happy as they haven't been available for years and years at retail.

what exactly are the different paint aps on the 2 figures you mentioned? someone on another forum stated that 5 of the figs in this set had slightly different paint aps. anybody else notice any differences on the bounty hunt set paint aps compared to the older release versions? just trying to get some feedback so i can decide whether to pick this up or not at suncoast.

I picked up one of these at a Suncoast that was going out of business a couple weeks ago for 40% off. I think the set is worth it at that price but not for the full $35.

4-LOM's head is a darker silver (almost gunmetal), eyes are greener and his body is a lighter grey than the POTF 2 version.

Zuckuss' robe is a reddish brown with a yellowish wash now, whereas the POTF2 was a darker brown with a yellowish wash.

The other figures are the same as their other releases.

Vader is identical to the SAGA Imperial Forces 4-pack and the ROTS Cup with Figure.

Dengar is identical to the SAGA release.

IG-88 is identical to the POTJ, the SAGA Ultimate Bounty 4-pack, and the OTC releases.

Boba Fett is identical to the POTJ 300th figure, the SAGA Ultimate Bounty 4-pack, and the OTC Slave I releases.

Bossk is identical to the POTF2 release. The Bossk from the SAGA Ultimate Bounty 4-pack was the same figure, but was missing the emblems on his upper arms.

Bossk and Boba Fett are both missing their smaller blasters.

The Hunt for the Millennium Falcon: Bounty Hunter Pack has been added to the Photo Archives.

I was going to pass on this set, but when I was able to pick it up for only 20 bucks, I couldn't resist.

As decribed elsewhere in this thread, all figures are repacks. However, most of the figures have slight paint changes to them. Pretty cool if you haven't gotten these before, but there are some figures (I'm looking at you, Zuckuss!) that are in serious need of an update.

Nice pictures Curto as per usual! Zuckuss and 4-Lom could both use an upgrade in the new Saga line. It's been awhile since both have been released carded.

Yes, though i don't know why Vader should punch Dengar in the face http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

anyone have one? i dont have most of these figures, so i will defiently be picking up this set. its an exclusive, so it seems like it will be hard to get. but my local comic shop owner told me he would be getting one in (its a comic shop exclusive or something like that) and said he would hold one for me! said he would have it by wednsay, he will charge 35 bucks for it, not bad. i never had any of the other bounty hunters (cept for fett of course), so to get all the bounty hunters from that scene in one set is soo perfect for me!

So far I've seen this "exclusive" at suncoast, hastings and a few other places.

I have one, and if you don't have all the hunters, it's a good deal. They also didn't attach anything to the backdrop in it so you;ll get that with it too.

i got one but my boba's holster blaster wasn't there.

man i cant WAIT to get this set! my comic shop is getting it in on wensday and he said he'd hold it for me, and he'll charge about 35 bucks. not bad, and since i dont have ANY of these bounty hunters excpet for fett, i want them all! i dont think ive ever had a bossk or dengar or any of them, so this set for me is a must-have, especially since im an opener. cant wait!

my question is, do they already have better figs of bossk, dengar or most of the other characters in the set (besides vader and boba, i know they have definitive versions)?

In my opinion, the Saga Bossk is better than the POTF2 Bossk (which is the one in the set), but other than that, they're all the best versions.
