Hey Gang headin to San Diego on my Honeymoon next week. Good Timing for ComicCon http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sunday the 17th we are heading from San Diego to Anahiem. We want to stay away from Disneyland (50th Birthday). We are thinking of stopping at Mission San Juan Capistrano. But I know that is only a few hours of the day at best.

Any other suggestions? Thanks

Hm... yeah with July 17th being the official 50th anniversary you may want to stay completely away from Disneyland.

If you do brave it though I'd recommend just going to California Adventure. I bet it won't be that crowded with the focus being on the original park. You could also just spend time in downtown disney instead of going into the park (maybe that night after you spend half the day in san juan?).

The Mission at San Juan is nice to visit if you like gardens and history. It is a little on the small side so yeah you are looking at a couple hours max before you are done. Great places for lunch around there. In fact I recommend Cedar Creek Inn which is right across the street (http://www.cedarcreekinn.com/sjc.htm). Lots of antique shops and boutiques all along the streets there too.

There are a few collectible stores that have good stuff by Knotts. Their prices are in the middle lowish.
