View Full Version : Why doesn't lego use window boxes anymore?

I miss the window boxes from years ago. Why doesn't lego do that anymore, all the other toy companies have moved towards display boxes to sell their product, yet lego has done the opposite. Why?

Anybody wish they would return to that practice, or are you happy with the way things are?

In some ways I miss it, some ways I dont. Most sets have some nice pieces to display, put it's just pieces so there isnt really much to see. Imagine a window in the Star Destroyer. Wow, alot of bricks, but nothing of visual interest.

I hadn't even thought about that, but you're right, they don't have window boxes anymore. Probably due to costs, making a window box meant also making a plastic inner tray to hold/display all the parts. Since the only sets to have window boxes were bigger (>$50) sets, adding the window would add more cost unnecessarily.
