FBTB has the info up on the new sets we'll be seeing in January. Man there's some awesome stuff coming. images/icons/smile.gif Cloud Car, Ewoks, UCS Yoda! images/icons/shocked.gif

09-20-2001, 12:46 AM
They sound cool, I can't wait to see pictures of the Destroyer images/icons/smile.gif

11-01-2001, 08:54 PM
These sets look great, the technic Vader looks awesome and the cloud car looks promising. The ewoks look ok, but I'm really impressed by the $7 mini-scene sets -- Jedi Defense looks pretty cool, nice little door and the Destroyer Droids look creative (though if I had a few more of the right pieces - or I disassembled a few sets - I could make one of these right now) and Final Duel has great pieces and great mini-figs. The new design on the speederbike looks cute enough, but I have so many old ones that it won't look right in my collection.

However, I am actually looking forward more to the new Alpha Team underwater sets, there doesn't seem to be a loser in the bunch!

Check 'em all out: www.fbtb.net (http://www.fbtb.net)

My sons and I found them at a TRU over the weekend. They assmebled them and I just took the pics. images/icons/cool.gif

Very nice images/icons/smile.gif

Pretty cool, I like how they've changed the hood of the 'Bike and the Droidika is cool as well.

12-11-2001, 10:46 PM
Does anyone know where I can go to get plans to build the lego destroyers?

12-12-2001, 08:53 PM
Thanks for sharing, those are great pics, good job. I take it they didn't have any Cloud Cars. Can't wait to see more EP2 sets.

12-18-2001, 07:07 AM
I found the new legos today. I must get these for christmas like every year. I only found the 4 small sets. Did they release any big sets this year? Where is the AT-AT?

The sets this year are Cloud Car, Ewok Attack, Final Duel I & II and Jedi Defense I & II. The only "big" set is the Rebel Blockade Runner, which is more along the lines of the UCS X wing and TIE Interceptor and not really supposed to go with Lego mini figs.

The are also releasing Technic R2 and Darth Vader, but they don't really don't interest me.

Go to www.fbtb.net (http://www.fbtb.net) to see them all images/icons/smile.gif

Only in my dreams.

So far I've found the four smaller sets and the Ewok Attack at Target, Wally World, and TRU. No sign of the Cloud Car Set (though without Lando I don't want it as much).

12-25-2001, 01:15 AM
Found 'em all except Final Duel I. My Final Duel II set is getting mighty lonely images/icons/frown.gif

12-30-2001, 06:58 AM
I stumbled into Toys R Us one day and saw a few of them. Nice surprise, I didn't even know there were new ones coming out. About a week later I started seeing news about Lego releasing new sets. I picked up the Obi-Wan with Destroyer Droids, and would have picked up the other Jedi Defense but they didn't have it. I'm so glad to have it though. Obi-Wan actually has hair this time! Though I am a little dissappointed that he doesn't have the little ponytail like the little Qui-Gon fig has correct hair. Ah well, the fact that the saber hilt was different made up for it images/icons/smile.gif

01-03-2002, 06:22 AM
Cloud car added.

01-03-2002, 08:52 AM
I love the Lobot figure. Now all we need is a Lando!

01-04-2002, 10:02 PM
We've found all of those sets at our local Toys R Us, Wal Mart, Kmart and Target.. if you haven't gotten them yet, keep looking, they're out there! images/icons/smile.gif

Just received it yesterday and it's packed with six pages about SW Lego sets. Includes the exclusives UCS Yoda, Darth Maul and Rebel Blockade Runner plus the new 2002 sets. There are special two-pack offers for C3-PO and R2-D2 ($49), Stormtrooper and Darth Vader ($67).

Conspicously missing are the classic sets for the Millennium Falcon, UCS TIE Interceptor and X-Wing, Snowspeeder, Darth Vader's TIE and X-Wing plus the smaller Episode I sets. images/icons/shocked.gif

01-07-2002, 11:18 AM
Yeah, I also got that catalog recently. I was a little disappointed. Nothing new that I haven't seen before. I was kinda hoping for EP2 Legos but no luck.

Did you happen to notice the back cover? It advertises a Lego shop-at-home exclusive that is the first "fan made" set ever. I believe it was some sort of Medievel Inn. I'm not sure if this is a wise idea for LEGO because they will probably get swamped with ideas from other builders. Could there be a fan-made SW Lego set in the future?

01-08-2002, 01:50 AM
Thanks for sharing the eye candy. Glad to see the stormie in a cheaper set. Now we just need Lego Direct to see them by the bucket!

Im just more and more impressed with they lego figures every time. They ewoks rocked but as soon as I saw Yoda I new he was my favorite lego figure to date! The dooku and Tuskins are very cool too! Im impressed...

01-14-2002, 12:04 AM
Ooh, I like those. Impressive, most impressive.

BTW folks, I (and Jeremy) are your new moderators for this section. I don't know about him, but I am a completely honest individual & will take no bribes. Really, I won't. Not even a UCS Blockade Runner. images/icons/tongue.gif Seriously though, it's an honor to just have the chance to try to keep things in check around here. images/icons/smile.gif

01-14-2002, 01:19 AM
Welcome JediCrippler,

So you need a UCS Blockade Runner well I have a spare one right here for free say I'll trade you it for say becoming the moderator of this and films section images/icons/tongue.gif

Congrats on becoming a mod. This is one of the quietest forums here on the board. I'm guessing you'll have very few things to "keep in check."

Just make sure you clean the place every 2 weeks. It can get a little dusty in here.

01-17-2002, 10:22 AM
These are cool sets. I too found them before Christmas at Wal-Mart. The droidekas BD's and Obi-Wan Qui-Gon could be used to make a Naboo Hangar battle scene. Has LEGO made a Naboo Starfighter?

01-17-2002, 08:22 PM
Yeah there's a Naboo Fighter. It doesn't seem to have been discontinued yet, so you should still find them just about anywhere (Wal-Mart, KMart, TRU, Target). It comes with a little cart type thingy & a couple of Battle Droids.

01-18-2002, 02:33 AM
That cloud Car is pretty sweet if I can say so images/icons/smile.gifDoes it come with any pilots or just Lobot?

01-18-2002, 08:03 AM
TRU had a repack sale which included the Naboo fighter awhile back. You may want to check them out if they still have them.

Unfortunately the Cloud Car only comes with Lobot. See what I did about this problem.

02-02-2002, 03:11 PM
images/icons/smile.gif It's really nice to see so many people getting a kick out of these scans. I felt the same way when I took a look at them before building the set they came in (the Jedi Starfighter)

02-02-2002, 05:32 PM
Update- I removed them, FBTB are now hosting them images/icons/smile.gif

02-02-2002, 07:41 PM
You got the Starfighter, how is it?

02-02-2002, 08:14 PM
Quite a good set. The new curved slopes give it a sleek look. It has fold up landing gear. The astromech is just a head, no body is included. Obi-Wan's hair colour is very close to how it is in the movie. He has the headset which he is seen wearing in the trailers marked on his face.

You going to post pics soon?

02-03-2002, 03:34 AM
When is the Jedi Star fighter meant to be released ? At the same time the Hasbro sneak preview figures are is my guess ?

Those new pics look great, love the Tuskan and Yoda Mini Figures, out of all the sets the Gunship to me looks the worst but it does have Clone Trooper mini figures !!!!

02-03-2002, 08:08 AM
There was also a very tiny pic on the box of a TECHNIC Super Battle Droid

02-04-2002, 09:07 PM
these look great i cant wait to get these they look terrific.

02-05-2002, 01:30 AM
I saw them now, pretty cool if you ask me images/icons/smile.gif

12-09-2002, 10:33 AM
Well, as of last night I completed the 2002 line (which includes the AOTC and classic and whatever, but not technique or UBC).

So i was looking at all of them and was trying to decide which sets were really the best. I think LEGO did a good job of designing most of them, as they were sturdy and looked really well.

As far as the set that I felt had something wrong with it (and this is not major) is the Jango Fetts Slave 1. I like lego because they sets are usually really sturdy, and if you pick a piece up to look at it, it wont just fall apart in your hand. This new version of Slave 1 is the only set to fall short on this aspect. It looks really good, but a lot of places are really fragile and fall apart easily if i pick it up or look at it. I had to put the (i dont know the real name for them) wing mount things on a couple times while i was building the rest of the ship. Other than that though it's pretty cool.

I suppose the best set that i put together this year was the Imperial Shuttle. It is very sturdy (even with the large wings) and it looks great. Also, The Bounty Hunter chase is also great. Anikan and zams speeders look great, were designed well, fun to put together, and sturdy (even with zams break away feature!).

Probably the least interesting sets to put together were final duel 1 and 2, but that is obvious, since they are so small images/icons/frown.gif

I really wish that lego would release more mid-range vehicles this coming year (for example: Cloud car and at-st). I have a bunch of small sets, and then a bunch of large sets, but not a lot of middle ground sets. I would like more of the middle sets.

Anyways, everyone post their comments below about what y'all think of this past years set!

12-10-2002, 12:04 AM
Republic Gunship

12-13-2002, 04:49 AM
I have to agree with the Republic Gunship. It is a really great set, and probably my favorite system scale set that has been made.

12-13-2002, 07:16 AM
wel, I don"t have it, bt I would say republic gunship, and the Slave 1 , but the JSF is also cool, so is the bounty hunter persuit, and we ginaly have tuskens, yoda, ewoks, droidekas, some troop builder sets (sotrytellers), so I can't choose images/icons/grin.gif

but they had neede to ad a royal guard to the Final Duel1, so everybody whould have bought more images/icons/smile.gif

12-30-2002, 09:25 AM
Much appreciated to whoever managed to get the pics of the new sets, but... any chance of finding out / telling us what the others are gonna be?

There's a posting over at FBTB saying that there'll be six sets released in total this summer, so speculation is open on the other four... a couple of them will probably be MINIs I guess......

12-30-2002, 12:45 PM
so, that is all images/icons/smile.gif

4483 AT-AT:
4481 Hailfire droid:
4488 Millenium Falcon
4489 AT-AT
4490 RGS
4491 MTT

12-30-2002, 04:12 PM
Has that been confirmed? I thought LEGO usually released more than just two System sets at a time. Im still hoping for four more sets beyond the minis. I guess because of the price, perhaps it is a better possibility that it will only be those two.

I don't believe it's Technic Scale images/icons/smile.gif

otherwise it would be too small images/icons/smile.gif

12-31-2002, 12:10 PM
I think the Hailfire Droid will be a Technic set too. Just looking at the closer up pic we got, you can clearly see its constructed with pretty much all technic pieces. Plus it makes sense for them to release at least 1 technic set otherwise we would have no 2003 technic offerings from the Star Wars line.

12-31-2002, 04:21 PM
I also agree that it does look like a Technic set. Has anything official come out about this yet

12-31-2002, 11:07 PM
Heaps of sets out this year but which one was the best or your favourite in your opinion?

The current standing is as follows:

Lego Set

Republic Gunship – 2
USD Star Destroyer. – 1
Jabba´s Palace -1
Bounty Hunter Pursuit -1
Blockade Runner -1

UCS ISD images/icons/grin.gif

(250° post BTW images/icons/tongue.gif )

12-31-2002, 11:51 PM
Another for the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer. images/icons/grin.gif

01-01-2003, 01:41 AM
they better release more system sets than 2... images/icons/frown.gif

01-01-2003, 05:13 PM
The destroyer is the best i mean come on that is the biggest set EVER made images/icons/shocked.gif

01-01-2003, 06:11 PM
Yup, I'm going with the ISD as well followed by the RBR or maybe the Yoda statue.

01-02-2003, 11:59 AM
I'll be different from everyone else and go with the SE Naboo Starfighter. I love this set as the chrome really adds to it and makes it an real eye catching piece to the collection. It's also much more sleeker looking than the system set. The adjustable stand isn't a bad little feature either.

01-02-2003, 12:01 PM
The ISD is definitely THE set of 2002...I believe the RBR was released in 2001 so that shouldn't count, should it? As far as other good sets, the Gunship, AT-TE, TIE Bomber and SE Naboo Starfighter are all great as well.

01-02-2003, 02:07 PM
Hey what about mini-figs? Sure the ISD is great but some cool minifigs came out in 2002 and, for me at least, the mini-figs are another reason for me to go spend the cash on a certain set.

That being said, my favorite mini-fig of 2002 is...The Tusken Raider images/icons/grin.gif the destoyer droid was cool too but I'm not sure if it qualifies as a mini-fig.

01-02-2003, 07:54 PM
Star Destroyer is the best is cool. It is the biggest set ever.

01-02-2003, 08:47 PM
I'd say the Star Destroyer, if I could actually afford it.
