View Full Version : What are you Napstering now?

I'm currently trying to get all of Milla Jovovich's songs from an album she did that was only released on the internet, and is long out of print. It was a limited release in the first place, you could only order it off of Peopletree.com (I know, what's that?) and most people don't even know that Milla is just as much a musician than an actress/model...Truly some hard stuff to find.

I think maybe, just for the principle of it, I might spend a few days downloading as much Barbara Streisand as I can, just so I can save it all onto a disc and throw it away. http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

Walls Of Jericho, Sense Field, and Goat*****. I get to see Goat***** play in two weeks. Yay for metal and indie and hardcore!

Hey 3rd alien:
You're not talking about the "Divine Comedy" are you? I have that CD and it's great!!

I know you may not like me because I have said that Napster is stealing(but I have nothing against you http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif), but if you find anything from Milla that isn't on the CD I have, would you let me know? http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

OK, feel free to make fun of me now. http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

To all you fellow scumbags, er, Napster users out there, is there anything you're currently trying to get off Napster? I decided a few weeks ago to get all the songs of certain favorite artists. I'm all through with The Eagles (still need to get a few by Joe Walsh & the James Gang), Billy Joel and the Beatles, and am now going after The Band, Harry Connick, Jr., The Who, Rolling Stones and Van Halen.

Bone- No, Devine Comedy was her mass-released album (even though it can still be hard to track down a new copy). It's probably one of my favorite all-time albums, glad to hear I'm not the only one who appreciates it.

The one I'm trying to find is called "the Peopletree Sessions" and was released by the Peopletree website about three years ago (or more). So far I've managed to find one crappy quality song from it off Napster. The only thing else I have of Milla is her cover of Lou Reed's "Satellite of Love" from the Million Dollar Hotel Soundtrack (good song!) and a couple very low quality live tracks of her (up until 3 months ago) band Plastic Has Memory.

I'll definately let you know if I ever get that whole Peopletree album. http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

I think the question for me is, "What AREN'T you Napstering right now?" I signed up with Napster last Thursday and I'm up to 274 files shared. I am officially addicted.

3rdAlien: LOL, no s--t huh? I wear the scumbag badge like so many others now. I doubt I'll ever buy another CD at this rate. Looks like I'm off Metallica's XMAS card list http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/wink.gif

Just finished getting some Pixies tunes and a couple songs from Samiam.

Well if any of you guys are in college, as am i, your university more than likely put a bandwidth ban on Napster. So now instead of me downloading songs at 200k/s, i get them at a lousy 1 or 2. So, i went on the search for a new "napster". I actually found something that works. Its called audiosatellite. Just go to audiosatellite.com, dl the program, and you're all set. It is a little different from napster, but it gets you the songs. Thought this might help for some of you that have been cut off of Napster. Good luck

Let's change the title to "What are you Kazaaing Now?", shall we? A couple days ago I downloaded a bunch of Afghan Whigs songs to make a good comp for a friend of mine. I also got some Snoop Dogg songs and a couple DMX. I like to have tunes available on my computer to listen to, instead of actually having to get up, find a cd I want to listen to, put it in the cd player and press play. THAT'S just too much to ask of one person, don't you think?

Anything that sounds good and I don't have in my MP3 directory. I usually goes to www.yes.net (http://www.yes.net) to get ideas. Plus, I've picked up some sweet, rare live Genesis tracks from the 70's. images/icons/grin.gif

The last things that i Kazaa'ed was Alice coopers Zipper Catches Skin Album, well at least what I could find of it.Some Old Genesis from the Peter Gabriel days and then some Misfits .KKK took my baby away, and some others that are eluding me at the moment.

I've been off of Napster for at least 2 years now.

I found out an awesome site

WinMX (http://www.winmx.com)

This site is awesome and quick too.. images/icons/grin.gif

Yeah, kinda surprised me to see a Napster thread. Thought that service died long ago once the RIAA got through with them.
Even went so far as to uninstall it (figured I'd never use the tool again).

I pretty much stick to WinMX and Grokster now. Between the two can find just about everything I need.

Latest pulls have been Thalia music vids, the occasional movie, and random songs that I hear on TV or the radio and say "Hey, I should d/l that", like "Cherry Lips" by Garbage and "Intuition" by Jewel.
Eventually you wind up with so much you need to go buy a new HD just to store it...

Carnor or anyone else who knows, please PM me a place to download St. Anger. I still intend to boycott the new Metallica with my wallet until Lars quits acting like a sellout.

Metallica still has fans?
