View Full Version : Easy and pointless customs

What's the best mixed use for two figures that you've been able to come up with? That is, actually mixing the two figs.
This one took about 30 seconds of idle time on a winter evening, and is even easier than taking a magic marker to a R2-D2 to finally get that E1 blue R2...
Ingredients: 1 POTF2 Removable limb C-3P0 and 1 POTJ Dagobah spirit Darth Vader... oh yeah, and two human hands
Directions: Remove heads from both figures. Apply Threepio head to neck stump on Vader. The tab fits very easily into the hole.

Here's today's easy and pointless custom. Thanks to Deep Blue Jedi for the inspiration.

Now this one's a bit more complicated. It requires three figures; one each of Hangar Duel Anakin, Final Duel Jango and Bespin Duel Luke (Magnet hand varient); however we'll be working on neither a dual or a duet.
Steps
1) Remove Jango's head
2) Remove Anakin's right arm
3) Remove Luke's right hand
4) Attach Anakin's arm to Jango's neck stump
5) Attach Luke's hand by wrist to magnet on Anakin's hand

You can also create a variant of this custom and gain two easy and pointless figures by instead attaching either the Luke hand or the Jango head to Anakin's above-elbow stump.

I've got one for you:
Take a STAP Battle Droid with it's head lowered and put Labria's cape on its back and the Complete Galaxy Vader's cape on the front of it and you get something that looks kind of like those bird things from The Dark Crystal.

I guess this counts:

In a moment of complete randomness, I put the poncho from the Episode I Tatooine Acessory Pack onto IG-88, and it actually fits him pretty well--he's still wearing it as we speak.

Now the Findshusband thinks I should find an action-figure-sized sombrero and make "Fistfull of Dollars" IG-88. Don't know where the Sam Hill I would find such a thing, but if I can I certainly will! images/icons/grin.gif

Watto's AOTC hat, if it's removable on the fall release, might work as a sombrero.

I gave a Bossk figure an old worn coat from Indiana Jones figure line, a vintage SW belt (to hold it shut), and a "Sawed off" rifle I carved up once... He also has a lil bottle of coke.

Why do I like Trandoshans? Cuz they gets ALLLLLLL da ladies. images/icons/wink.gif

Oh yeah, he's talking to the nazi ghestapo officer (Toht) from IJ line, who's seig hailing him/saying hi.

ALl this in the cantina, not far from a curious george figure getting a drink from George Lucas... The bar's a bit of a clusterf right now.

What could be more worthless than Darth Hammerhead
Sith accessory set, plus vintage hammerhead if you play around with it he can hold the double saber well, (he has been fighting jedi for a couple years now just looks too cool to change it back.)

And then of course there's Zuckuss (Romantic Daydream). If no one else gets this, Beedo will:

1. Take off his plastic robe thing.
2. Lay him down somewhere soft.
3. Give him a length of green ribbon or cord to cuddle (see here (http://www.geocities.com/nigelwillis/Telfien.html))
4. Done.

OK, this one isn't as much pointless as it is easy. Get a POTJ Ketwol and a POTF Ponda Baba. Take Ponda's orange vest off, and replace it with Ketwol's robe. Paint the robes and Ponda's arms the same color and there you go, an Aqualish senator for TPM or AOTC dioramas!

I guess my recent custom action figure of my husband in X-wing pilot gear would fall into this category:

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shuttle/6886/SchmuckussXWing.html

It's just the head from Godzilla Philippe (Jean-Paul? some French name...) on a POTF2 X-Wing Luke body. That's all. No paint, no Sculpey, no nothin'.

Easy, and pointless, indeed. But in a good way, I hope. images/icons/grin.gif

Chewbacca, did you ever figure something out, image hosting-wise? I know there are all sorts of image hosting sites out there, but not all of them let you link from outside the site, and I'm not sure which ones do & don't. My husband and I have .mac, which I've been able to use for this purpose, but that one is definitely not free... tho' if you wanted something up there just temporarily, I'd be gald to help. It's just my husband doesn't like having lots of stuff up there and cleans up occasionally... images/icons/frown.gif

Just a test to see if my site on Geocities lets one link to images...

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shuttle/6886/XWingSchmuckuss.jpg

UPDATE: Yes, it does! And that one's free too! So just sign up with Yahoo/Geocities, upload a few picture filels to your account, and you've got it made. images/icons/grin.gif

Anywho, good luck, and let us know what you come across! images/icons/smile.gif

Freewebs.com is simple and free too.
It can store up to 49 pictures.
(7 pages 7 pictures)
Click on my site link below and at the bottom of the first page is the link to start your site.
It will not stand a lot of bandwidth. But if you are just storing pictures with no traffic, its perfect.
Even if it is shut down do to high traffic, it starts right back up again a couple hours later after the bandwidth resets (What that means. I have no idea.)

However, this custom (whose picture I can no longer see for some reason?!) is not quite that exciting, I'm afraid. It's just supposed to be my husband dressed up as an X-Wing pilot. But he does have that Harry Potter look to him IRL too -- it's the glasses. images/icons/grin.gif
