Hey everyone,

I'm so psyched, so I have to tell someone. I went to TRU today and bought the Queen's Royal Starship for a whopping $12.45. YEEEHAAAA (shooting pistols in the air)!

The box had been opened, and yes, both the red R2 and the Droid Fighter parts were stolen. That's unfortunate, but I'm so happy to have an open ship. I don't open my stuff, and bought another Royal Starship a couple months ago at $24.95. My girlfriend and I really wanted to open it because it looks so darn cool. Well, now I have one to play with.

It was such a great feeling to actually open a Star Wars toy. And what a toy for my first opening experience to be with! (Don't worry, I keep my toys packaged because I LIKE them packaged. Not for any resale value!)

So, thanks for reading. And enjoy our awesome hobby! You never know when something really great will come your way...

Do you still have the little laser-tag gun for making the panels blow off??? I bought one of these a while back, and opened it the second I got it home!! I think it's one of the best pieces in my collection (I open all of the vehicles).
Too bad you don't have the R2 unit that comes with it....also a nice piece. Congrats on the find though.

I would love to get my paws on my Royal Starship, it sits in the corner of my Star
wars room in its perfect box saying open me. But I keep all the expensive toys in the box, I am just that way. Don't think I'm tempted though. Unfortunatly for me I paid $100 dollars for mine before Christmas and then a couple weeks later it was marked down to $50 DOHHHH! Hate it when that happens.

Cork...just open it!!! I bought mine shortly after they first came out and opened it immediately...never a single regret either! This is arguably one of the best vehicles made...great playability and the figures fit into it!!!! The whole laser-tag idea with the driod fighter is awesome too!

I paid $100 the first day these hit the floor at my local TRU and I have never felt bad about paying $50 more and opening it. Not only is it a wonderful toy (that takes a LONG time to put all the stickers on), but I've heard horror stories about the quality on the $50 ones that I never heard about the $100 ones, which makes me think that perhaps Hasbro dropped quality levels on things like the nose cone when they dropped the price.

jabba, your story reminds me of my friend, he was strolling into walmart for his weekly check (he'd already bought a starship for $150 cdn I think it was then) when he saw on the returns cart another starship. He asked why it was returned, they said that the owner returned it because the hatch the droids pop through was broken open (or something small was broken). He bought it for $20 (!!!!! http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/shocked.gif ) Cdn, popped the hatch back into place, and has never been a happier camper.. I always check that cart now.. http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/wink.gif

In my opinion, the Starship is one of the best toys made since POTF2 started back in 95. I originally received mine for Christmas and immediately opened it and began putting it together (generally I'm a MOC/MIB collector). This toy just is great to play with or display. Tons of neat features (panels blow off, the red R2 unit, elevator between floors, great sounds, Ric Olie looks cool in the driver's seat with Anakin looking over his shoulder, Maul and Qui Gon battling with lightsabers outside it, etc). I highly recommend opening it. But, then again, I picked up a second one just to keep in the box.

I've got the starship too. It is a sweet vechile. My friend won two off ebay for about $49.00 US each and sold me one! http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif That was a bargin considering that the small amount of them that hit retail in australia was about $350.00 AUST = $$175.00 US http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/shocked.gif

I still haven't put any of the stickers on it due to the fact that I am just too dam lazy and can never be bothered. Mabey one rainy day I'll get around to it! http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

I have my starship setup with the maul/qui gon/ani tatooine showdown cinema scene in front of it. I also have both the ep1 playsets with corresponding figures behind it so it looks like that it's parked in the theed hanger! http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif

This is a great vechile to chase after the cat with IMO. My cat is scared sh*tless of it! HeeHee! http://www.collectstarwars.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

The Royal Starship is truely one of the best Star Wars toys ever created and must be opened. I'm hoping to buy another if the prices go down from the $50.00 I bought mine for so I can have one sealed in a box.
