Just thought I would throw this question out there. Sideshow can't give these things away right now. I think they are way too high priced and it has killed the market. What do you guys think?

I hope it's not dead. I think these are great collectibles. There are so many more really good ones they could do!

Why do you think it's dead? Didn't they just put up 1:1 Vader, Fett, HIC, and Yoda for preorder? Sounds like the line is very much alive.
Now I've got to question the timing of releasing all of these at once. I think these could sell better if spread out a bit more. Coming up with $28k all at once is steep even for wealthy collectors.

Oh, I thought he was talking about the 1:1 busts. Anyways, that's what I was talking about. :\
As there's no way I can afford the 1:1 statues. Well I could, but there goes my marital bliss! You know...happy wife, happy life.

I could not be more excited for the HIC and then could not have been more deflated by the price... So to me, it is dead!!

Well Sideshow couldn't even be bothered to provide me with some decent hi-res photos of their new busts and lifesizes, so I could display them on StarWarsHelmets.com.

So they're dead to me

Cheers

I don't think the line is dead at all, as Ben explained. What I do believe is that the line is geared towards a smaller group of collectors that are able to afford the high price these life- size figures demand. Unlike the less costly figures and statues that reach a wider crowd and sell faster, not everyone out there has the disposable income to spend on life-size figures. Eventually they will sell, but it will take time.

No way should the HIC cost more than $5k!!!... Be a little more realistic with the pricing and they would sell more for return on investment... They just completely missed the window on this one.

I have the money saved up to buy the Vader but I just cant do it. High cost has killed my spirits.I will stick to the 1/6th figures.

Maybe it is a sign this line is dead just by the shear lack of posts!!

I know that there are more popular sites for SSC 1:1, but the fact there is almost nothing here says something to me.

Well I've had it with Sideshow and will no longer include or review their 1:1 or busts on my site. All I asked for was some help from them in getting some decent shots of their stuff - just hi-res photos would have done. However their 'Marketing and PR' department weren't prepared to help in any way.

ive never before met a company in this field that cared so little about their fans. So to me they're dead!

Cheers

If you like PT you still have about 30 minutes left on ebay to add these to your collection.

A lot of Sideshow's Star Wars lines are dead or at least appear to be. Mythos, dioramas, 1:1 busts, Legendary Scale Busts...

I was bidding on the Shockie 1:1 but once it hit 1500 I was out, I believe it sold for 3500+.
Blue_rogue, I'm hoping they're not all dead. Although I don't care for the LSB's and diorama's I'm definitely wanting more 1:1 busts and please give us more Mythos. I'm guessing they have far too much on the go to keep up with demand on some of the listed items. So many licenses really thins the collectibles for releases in SW.

Haha ouch!!!
After seeing the Shockie I'm def considering snagging a 501st 1:1 bust and giving it the treatment.

You might as well. Hard to justify spending that money on 3 repaints. Maybe if it were a Chewbacca prototype... Oh, well. It's for charity.

Yes, charity, minus the cost of the item :)
