So I got this Tie Fighter/Interceptor Frankenstein from Craigslist and need some help truly identifying it.

Here she is..

It seems she has the wings from 1983 Tie Interceptor
One wing has date of 1983

The other wing has number 11841

The Body of a POTF2 Tie Fighter (hence the 1995 copyright)

and the seat of VOTC Tie Fighter

What did that Rebel Scum sell me? :hmm: lol

PS: And anyone got the missing piece to the hatch?

The "solar panels" on the wings of the 1983 TIE Interceptor were just paper stickers. There were no sculpted details for the large black areas. Since your toy clearly seems to have sculpted detailing on the black panels then it could only be a modern version. Also, those little clear tabs on the backs of the wings are a dead giveaway that this is a modern version. That "safety feature" didn't exist on the vintage toy.

Also, Hasbro has never really been consistent with the shades of grey or blue used for any of the TIE vehicle releases. So, as long as all of your parts seem to be about the same color, then it's likely that they are all a part of the same release. Why Hasbro didn't bother to fix the datestamps? Who knows?

It appears that you have the 2001, TRU-exclusive, POTJ release of the TIE Interceptor:

This would have been the first release of this toy in the modern line.

Wow I didn't know that about the timestamps. So my next question would be, when looking for a replacement for the one hatch door, do you think any other vehicle's hatch door would fit or only potj?

Hasbro has updated that hatch design a couple of times, so you're going to have to look for an earlier release of the toy. I would guess maybe 2005 or earlier. However, because of the inconsistent plastic color that Hasbro has used for each TIE release, your only real hope of finding a replacement hatch door that is the same shade of blue is to get it from another 2001 POTJ TIE Interceptor.

Depending on how much you paid for this, my recommendation would be to just chalk it up as a learning experience and look for another, complete TIE Interceptor toy. I'd recommend the 2009 Legacy version, since it has the updated cockpit design.
