So could the reveal, below, on May 1 finally be the Boba Fett 1:1 statue?

Makes sense to go along with their HIC.

It looks pretty cool. I'm not excited to see the price though. :(

Yup, it is the 1:1 statue, $7499.

Keen to see how many people show interest in this with that sort of price tag

I just can't wrap my mind around these price points. We all know it won't look like this and it will be made cheaply.

Another easy pass.

Oh my god. These prices boggle the mind. You could build your own Fett (even more easily than building a Han in carbonite) for a fraction of that price. Again, this seems aimed at people with more money than time or willingness to put in the effort to make their own, and for that person the price point is probably ok. I have to think that for most of the audience for a life-sized statue, however, they're going to pass on this and either build or purchase a homemade job from someone at Dented Helmet or the RPF.

Apropos of nothing, I have a 1:1 ROTJ Fett backpack, Wookiee scalps, ROTJ-style green cape and ROTJ red gauntlets all for sale in the props thread. Just sayin'. :whistling:

Looks awesome, but I don't see the value at 7.5k.

Yeah, he is quite expensive. While he looks impressive in the photos, there is one thing that really seems off to me...his pose. Why are his hips so far out like he has the posture of a banana. Just my opinion, of course. By the way, if I was one of those people that had that kind of disposable income that I was determined to spend on either this or the HIC, I would get the HIC. For some reason it is more iconic to me.

It should have been released on April 1st with that price. I haven't been able to stop laughing since I've seen the price.

I think this one should easily be less than the Han in carbonite statue, it's mostly going to be fabric after all..., I recon I'll stick to smaller more reasonably priced items. :)

Probably a better question for the folks at Dented Helmet, but seriously how much would it cost to put one of these together piece by piece?

"We can almost buy our own ship for that!"

The price point does not surprise me in the least. If I had the money I would buy this before the HIC at these prices; in comparison Boba to me looks more impressive for the price being asked than HIC.

Yep like most no way I'm getting this at that price. Probabaly won't be getting the life size Yoda either. I'm still hoping we get a new PF or mythos announcement but the hope is slim.

If you think these are expensive, just wait until you see the price of their life size Vader with these as an indication of where they are going.

Totally agree. If I had the space for this I'd seriously consider getting one. No way I'd want to be bothered with finding bits of this and that to put one together myself. I think this should sell quite well. I just don't see the price being all that out of line as it looks amazing to me.

Yeah, I think your right & now I wouldn't be surprised if Vader's price tag was more in the $10,000.00..., they are certainly creeping up to double figures when it comes to the 1:1 scale statues & if any character could command it, I think Vader would be the one. :(

If I remember correctly, when talking to a 501st Fett, he said he put about $5k into his. His was extremely accurate. So, the question is...is an extra $2500 worth not having to to spend A LOT of time building/making your own Fett? And that's assuming you have the skills to make it.

Looks cool, but not impressed by the price.
Any idea what's the armor, body and blasters are made of?

I crack up looking over the listing. "At a special introductory price of $7499", like this is a bargain deal. Reminds me of an informmercial. If I order now, do I get a second Boba Fett ABSOLUTELY FREE?!

I went over to Dented Helmet and one of the first posts I read was someone LOLing and saying they could make a quality Fett for half the Sideshow price. Of course, the problem is tracking it down piece by piece. I would love to do it, but don't have the patience.

. . . and that is the $2500 question! :awesome:

If I had the money to spend right now, I think it would be worth it to me to buy it complete. I don't have the time or expertise to track down everything needed, so I would probably end up wasting more money trying to do it myself to only end up with something looking less. Having one ready made by a craftsmen is worth something beyond the stated $5k in materials it would cost.

I've seen quite a few people saying when you factor in how much they've spent on their own builds the SS price is actually not too bad.

YES, just like on TV the second one is included for free. You just need to pay the additional $7499 for special handling and shipping for the second to be included with your order!

Well I purchased the Han Solo and I made claim that I want to also buy the Fett and Vader. At this point F that. I still may do it but the freaking price point sucks. I can pull it off no problem but I cant justify $18,000 to one company unless I am driving it to work. Ohhh btw the head moves. So does an actor in costume for $100 an hour.

I'm no Fett expert, but I guess those TDH guys will search for original pieces, when it is the case, just like the screen used ones. SS will simply mass produce them out of resin or in the best case out of metal (zinc alloy or aluminum). I'm also curious about its accuracy since we know SS is not well known for accuracy, and the Han in Carbonite is far less accurate than Illusive Concept or fan made ones...

I thought the same thing. I could see $9999, because Sideshow. Especially if the lightsaber lights up.

Also that would be the introductory price of course.

Good news for anyone wanting a new Fett but the budget doesn't stretch to the 1:1 scale monument. There will be a new premium format Boba Fett previewed on the 4th. :)

That price is rediculous. Good Fett, but id rather have Bobamaker build me one, and it looks a lot better. You can build an accurate Fett for around $5k easily, i built a half decent one for 1000-long gone though...

My wife is thinking 1:1 Terminator, but I'm seriously considering the 1:1 Fett. He won't be released until Feb 2015 so I have time to think. Anyone see anything glaring wrong or inaccurate with the SSC version?

Updated my bust with some wookiee braids. Didn't like the sculpted ones...
