I'm curious as to how many of you have complete sets? And if so, do you consider packaging variations or just the figure itself? I personally have just caught up with a complete set including all card variations.

I display my figures loose... so NO packaging variations (tri-logo, etc.) or fantasy figures (First shot Fett or X-mas Yoda) for me. I just purchased a second Ikea Billy bookcase for the recent bounty hunter releases and next years line up.

I will be opening Bossk, IG-88, Rocket Fett, brown Yoda, orange Yoda, Gamy Guard & Yak Face this weekend after I have assembled the new bookcase. Now I just need to wait for future releases... which buys me time to built a new set of custom backdrops! :O)

Nice! I'm missing Obi-Wan and Jawa (both versions) but I'm only collecting from ANH and TESB. I don't have Gamorrean Guard or Yak Face but won't be collecting them. I will be saving for the Wampa as that's kick-*****! I hope the box is exactly the same as the 3.3/4 version. I love this line and agree they do consume serious space.

I have all except the Gammy Guard on the ROTJ card which I've been meaning to snag. I got the POTF variant with my PGM.

Same here. I hope to one day get them all on display (carded) - Need a bigger house first!

I'm going to display mine loose - on a shelf, with the card positioned behind the figure (no bubble).

I have everything except the original Stormtrooper on ESB card. I sold it off when they released the Stormtrooper on an ANH card because the ESB version was still going for a nice profitable price on Ebay at the time.

If these were a little smaller, like say 6" or so, I might have more room but I can't display them all as it is, and I'm 3 shy from completing the first 21. In fact if anyone is looking to unload Red Snags, HH or Greedo I might be interested.

They should make a mini version of these. Maybe around 3" or 4" tall. That would be perfect! :grin:

Agreed. Nice setup there. Why 2 BS Yodas? Is there a variation I missed?

I was just wondering the same thing, perhaps the cane color?

The thing I really do like about the way these are displayed is that the top row is in the same character order that they appear on the Early Bird Gift Certificate package and stage. Never did quite understand why the put the Death Squad Commander where they did, but I love it nonetheless.

Yeah, the resculpted Bossk was my last straw.

Seeing that they missed the "i" on the IG-88 card right after that didn't give me any more confidence in the line and it's incompetent management.

Anyone want to start taking bets on how many typos, paint errors, sculpting errors, or other F-ups will be in the 2014 figures? :)

I say there will be a minimum of 3 this year. Anyone think it will be higher?

I'm all in... and going for a complete set of loose figures. I'm thankful I don't have to worry about packaging variations as a loose collector. Here is a photo of my run after adding the second display case... I'm just waiting for my replacement Dengar to arrive and look forward to adding Zuckuss and Han Hoth in the next couple weeks. :O)

http://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/medium/GG-Display---Jan-2014.jpg

My daughter Alyssa added the 6ft cut-out Boba Fett over the holidays to tide me over until the GG life-size vintage Stormtrooper is released. I am also building a custom Tantive IV background for the top half of my jumbo display... I just approved the CNC cut 18" column prototype with the wood miller this morning... everything should start coming together in the next couple weeks and I hope to complete the finished installation next month.

http://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/medium/Tantive-IV_rough-fitting-1.jpg

I don't really have any issues with this line as its one of quite a few in-flight interests I'm chasing... not to discount the fair share if production issues noted in this forum... just happy more passionate collectors are keeping track of all the running changes, issues, etc.

End of day... I like how they display and can't wait until that area of my game room is closer to completion... really looking forward to adding future releases from Hoth, Bespin and POTF!!!

Only changes from the photo above is getting rid of the sealed Holiday Yoda and the Brown Snake Yoda on top of the display and reserving that space for future sealed POTF figures as they have always been my favorite card backs. :O)

I hope every here has a fantastic collecting year!!!

Kaneda,

Thanks for sharing the amazing pictures of your display. Can't wait to see your Tantive backgrounds. My Billy cases don't look nearly as cool as yours. I'm still doing one of each figure, but not all variations. Also, passed on the Cantina, and will pass on the Wampa and life-size figures (unless they do a farmboy Luke or Boba Fett). Right now, at 6 per shelf, I've got room for 11 more full-size figures and 5 more short ones before I have to do serious re-arranging. The Rancor is just filling space in the bottom row right now.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the compliments... Billy bookcases are really the way to go to display these... adding the glass shelving option really opens them up. I would really like to add a Cantina to display boxed on top of my bookcases... however not willing to pay more than $40 shipped... with that said will keep waiting for the right opportunity.

Your GG Jumbo collection is coming together nicely... but, is overshadowed by that AMAZING Mego Black Hole set in the bottom righ corner... not everyday you get an opportunity to catch a glimpse of a Humanoid!!! :O)

I pre-order the Wampa when GG was offering the Luke Hoth and free shipping... as for the life-size... I'm pretty much good for the Stormtrooper and Fett... one on each side of my jumbo display.

I really struggled with how many to display per shelf... and came up with this final design of four billy bookcases... to accomodate 96 figures. So end of day... assuming GG releases the entire run...

-- Bookcase I & II
:: AHN = 24 (four shelves @ 6 figures ea.)
:: ESB = 24 (four shelves @ 6 figures ea.) + 6 figures

-- Book case III & IV
:: ROTJ = 24 (four shelves @ 6 figures ea.) + 5 figures
:: POTF = 17 (3 shelves @ 6 figures ea.)
:: Max Rebo band (1 shelf + a figure or two)

That leaves 6 ESB figures and 5 ROTJ figures unaccounted for... so my solution is to add a half-width Billy book case with a Morebo door between bookcase II & III with backgrounds that match the left and right units, etc. So that totals 100 figures + Rebo Band + Wampa... I would have to adjust to a full billy bookcase between II and III if they release a Jabba the Hutt playset... and refactor the figure orientation accordingly. One of the nice things about using modular Ikea bookcases with modular custom backdrops you can adjust with new information. :O)

Here is a mock-up of the final display arrangement that I put together in Photoshop... since my display cases are ANH themed... going with Tantive IV --> Mos Eisley Exteriors (docking bay 94, cantina entrance, droids locked door, etc.) --> Millenium Falcon Interior walls --> Deathstar corridor... to follow the story progression of ANH. :O)

http://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/GGJumboCollectionEnvironments-longterm.jpg

I am also kicking around the idea of having each set of background scenes on one row... so all of AHH will be on th first row, ESB second row, etc... that would make it easier to scale-out with additional shelving in the future. Especially if they start to release Droids and Ewok figures, etc.. I will need to play that one by ear... :O)

Ha ha, I have a storage locker, like a mini man cave for these and various other stuff. It's easier to take photo in hall way.
