I could be totally wrong but I always assume it's an old 3 and 3/4 figure rather than a 12 inch.

History has proven that all of their promotional photos like this are oversized photoshopped pics of the original 3.75" figure and not the actual product they intend to release. Very misleading and increasingly frustrating, given the subpar versions of Yoda and some of the recent cantina aliens.

After seeing how crappy Yoda turned out, I seriously dread what 4-LOM's pleather coat is going to look like, or any future ROTJ figures with softgoods. :(

Most likely one from a 3.75" figure.

The first figure of Han that I really like. I love the bulky build of it. I also hope that gg makes a jumbo taun taun.

Yep. I ordered 3 in stock SW products during their May 4th deal and received an extra 1200 reward points on top of the points I was already getting. Saved about $70. Essentially, I did a "Buy 3 Jumbos, get one Free".

Agreed, but that would be one big *** taun-taun, it would have to be twice the height of Han, it would be bigger than a medium sized dog lol :)

Perfect timing. Hoth Han Solo arrived just in time for the east coast storm.

Anyone know what changed in the Flickr code? Doesn't allow me to copy and paste images anymore. I see that the .jpg doesn't appear anymore in the code.

Ordered! Late this week, you shall be mine. I remember, clearly, trading my Luke Hoth for this Han Hoth from my next door neighbor (unsupervised 9 year-olds in the front yards of our suburban neighborhood, *gasp*) in what must have been early 1981 :whistling:

Have any of you guys opened yours? I'm curious about the holster feature. Seems like it'd be prone to chipping the paint since they don't mold these in color, if it even fits.

It's not supposed to.

There wasn't a working holster on the vintage figure, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if GG changed that as well.

Yep. It's a hoop that lets the blaster clip onto his belt and works fine and dandy with the vintage figure.

Agreed. It was never meant to hold anything on the vintage figure, but guessing many of us jammed it in there anyway. Back when toys were toys, and not collectibles.

Pretty sure was intended as a "holster." Why else would it be there?

That's a shame. It makes the loop entirely pointless.

The gun fits on the new jumbo figure's holster loop too. There's even a pic of it right here in the rebelscum photo archives: Rebelscum Star Wars Photo Archive (http://www.rebelscum.com/Gentle-Giant-Ltd/Han-Solo-Hoth-Outfit-Gentle-Giant-Ltd-Jumbo-Kenner/IMAGE11.asp)

Are most of you liking this figure? The eyes seem off to me. Not wide enough and not dark enough. He's not bad overall though. I can't wait to pose him with some other Hoth figures. I hope they do the Survival Kit as the next exclusive.

Because the empty holster has a strap. The clip of the gun fits is that loop, so It really just fits against the holster.

I think it was more of a happy accident than anything, but it's better than nothing.

Nah, I gotta disagree - that was an intentional holster. The cost of sculpting, molding, and creating a useless loop would have been crazy. That had to have been engineered to hold the gun.

Not at all. With the type of two part mold and PVC ejection molding they used, it's a breeze, but…whatever. I still think it was a neat little unintentional happy accident. If not, you would have seen it on just about every holstered figure from then on. The way the gun awkwardly fits in front of the holster just doesn't look it was designed to be attached that way.

Whatever the case, it's cool that people found a way to make it actually store the gun.

I ended up with this molded-legs Han through dumb luck...About a year ago, I wanted to upgrade my Tauntaun, and found a steal on a buy-it-now; the pics only showed this Han sitting inside the Tauntaun's back, so it wasn't until I received it and pulled him out that I discovered his paint-less legs. I'm no variant hound, but I can definitely appreciate a nice one when it falls into my lap.

Han Hoth looks great on my shelf! I was worried about the eyes too (thinking the painted lines would be too thin) but it looks better in person. I guess the only thing I'd change is I thought the coat would be a bit shinier plastic rather than matte.

Disagree, i think it was meant to hold the gun for sure, it fits the front butt perfectly, doubt thats a fluke.

I think it's pretty silly looking having the blaster hanging off the holster like that, it's just not practical in the real world sense. Maybe playing with the toy as a kid perhaps it'd be ok. :p

In case anyone was interested in seeing what Hoth Han looked like with a decapitated head I can show you by means of his head just popping off as I was turning it. Apparently, they didn’t use much glue on the peg that is supposed to hold the head in place. I had to use a hair dryer on low heat and pliers to fish that white plastic peg out of the inside of the hollow head. I was really worried I might warp the plastic but fortunately it turned out fine. Now I just have to re-glue the peg and pop the head back on.

For some reason there is red paint on the bottom of the head. This makes no sense as there is no red painted anywhere else on the figure. Finding random red paint on the bottom of a decapitated head was quite a funny coincidence.

Has this happened to anyone else with this or other figures? Hopefully, you guys can assure me that this is not a common problem. This is only my second official Gentle Giant Jumbo figure and it did slightly dissuade me from buying any more. At the very least, my list of planned purchases just shrunk to the very bare minimum of absolute must haves.

I wasn't too happy about it. But it should be an easy fix. I already glued the peg to the torso. I'm just going to wait another week before I pop the head back on.

WELL,,, i got him finally,, and well, i am HAPPY :D

looks great in Jumbo, i have really no complaints, reminds me and is a good copy of the original, looks good next to my original childhood figure that I played with constantly and the price was great!

Not sure why he didnt sell well, everyone loves Hoth Han right? lol... maybe the size of these is what turns off most collectors.. i dunno

again a big thank you to the forum and for the members who been posting about the deals on these!
