I love Mad Men. Got all 4 previous season on DVD.

Question, is Don Draper supposed to be a character we root for or someone we want to rot in hell?

Wow, i'm surprised there wants a 'Mad Men" thread before. Last nights episodes were both great. Don is easily one of the more complicated guys on TV. I really liked also the subplot of Pete competing for office-space. Great touch! Pete is oddly on some level the most normal and humane of the people on the show, and thats hard to imagine considering where he started.

I was also very surprised there wasn't a thread here before, so that's why I started it. Zou Bisou Bisou! B)

My wife and I just started watching this. We've been looking for a new show for some time now and the hype surrounding season 5 has brought the show back to the forefront of our attention. We're really liking it!

This season has been really strong. I think the energy of the 60's is really starting to shine through the show. And wow, using a Beatles song (for a reportedly $250,000) in the show was mouth-opening when I heard it...

the directing and editing have just been so different and crisp. That entire music montage had a sort of sopranos/End of Boogey nights feel to it. Just so clever. I loved him just turning it off at the end, and walking out of the room. Tell the story with the picture, not just the dialogue. Great great show.

I love love love LOVE this show. It's the best thing on TV that isn't "The Daily Show".

And the usage of "Tomorrow Never Knows" in last week's episode was brilliant.

How has this season held up? I've missed the entire season so far.

It was a pretty good season, a lot of Don's new wife but also a good Pete story line and a good Lane story lines.

With his new wife, does Don meddle back into his philandering ways?

No not yet anyway. There's a question mark at the end of the season though.

Great deal. Thanks for the head's up. Seasons 1-4 of Breaking Bad is dirty cheap too.

My wife and I are working our way through Mad Men. We're about 6 to 7 episodes into season four. Great, great show.

Did you get to the "the power of the poontang" line yet? Funniest thing I've ever heard on cable TV.

I don't think they need story arcs concerning Betty anymore. She's but a footnote to the series now, esp. in season five.

She was preggers during those months of shooting that season. Hence, "Fat (Suit) Betty" & not a lot of screentime. She gets lots more to do in Season 6.

Final seventh season split into two parts starts on Sunday.

edit: I don't get the attraction everyone has with Peggy.

Yeah I don't get the Peggy thing either. Looking forward to the new season though.

I think the show pretty much tells you how the series will finally end from the

opening montage scene in every episode. My guess is federal agents from the Department of Defense eventually catch up to Don (aka ****) for desertion and taking the identity of another soldier from his war days. They chase him up the agency building through the stairwells. As they give chase, they all eventually get to the top and Don finally realizes there's no place left to run or hide. The agency partners follow the feds up the building and eye Don in complete disbelief. Don makes one final glance to everyone and he takes a leap off the building.

This is just my speculation of course.

First episode, nothing too much out of the ordinary. About what I would have expected.

Awesome first-half of the final season...with Games and Mad Men on hiatus, the quality of tv out there definitely takes a nose dive.
