She's fully loaded with 2 guns and a Lightsaber, what one would she reach for first in combat? :p

Lightsaber with right hand to quick draw and block laser fire while left hand reaches behind for blaster on back of belt.

Guess she can use the other blaster if she's going into a situation where she is sneaking around and doesn't want the lightsaber to be giving away her position from the glow. :)

Oh, and if anyone needs one, I do have an extra Mara Jade now. The face paint on her is really nice. She's missing her holster and blaster though.

But then one comic comes and shows her in this black leather outfit and the rest of her appearances from then on were based on it, and so were the toys. If you actually go by how she's described It's not like she'd wear that on her wedding day or anything.

If she is a good wife she'll wear it on the honeymoon at least

still think this one would made for a more exciting figure, as far as figures go, instead of the same ole outfit thats been done before and more exciting then Mrs. Skywalker.

Looks too much like that reactive armor Scarlett ROC GI JOE. You could probably use the Mara Jade and slip in Scarlett arms.

Well that face and hair are sure a lot better than what we got

Honestly, there were a couple looks they could have gone with. Instead of one 90% of us already had in a different color!

They atleast got the body sculpt done right and better colors. The head sculpt was so-so but superior to the purple one. I would've liked a Mara Jade from Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith and seen in Masters of Teras Kasi. Aside from that, I always more liked Mara as an Imperial agent rather than Skywalker's squeeze.

I just saw this figure in person for the first time today, lonely on the pegs at a local Target. Oddly enough after seeing it I prefer the comic pack version - I find that figure's flaws easier to overlook. It didn't help that the TBS figure I saw had the hugely thick eyebrows characteristic of the early releases of this figure. Maybe it was a return.

Has anyone tried using Desert Ambush Scarlett's head from the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra line of figures? She has a nice face and hair sculpt but I'm curious if it would be a simple head swap or if it would require any additional molding or drimmeling.

Well the holes in the gi joe heads are smaller than star wars figures. So a g.I. joe figure's head wouldn't fit on a star wars figure body because the ball on the star wars figure necks are bigger

Nothing a dremel drill couldn't solve, but it depends how badly you want to try the headswap I guess.

lol a Dremel seems to be your answer to everything. ;)

Have Dremel, will travel!

Just saw Mara Jade in the wild for the first time...at a Target no less. They actually seemed to have re-stocked their Black Series figs. A new Walmart just opened nearby me and their Star Wars section is only about 18 inches wide!

Yeah, Hasbro figured out how to keep the ball joint the same size for every Joe figure, yet can't seem to do it for Star Wars! Why not make them all the same so head swaps can be done with ease?

I remember when the 25th Joes debuted, the team said they intentionally made the figures universally the same for customizers. Same thing goes for the MotU Classics line as well.

Not sure why Star Wars never has done it.

I remember that, it was a very big step in knowing your customer and what they're after. Somehow though they decided that the 25th style body was better, leaving many customizers a tad upset about the change. Since it is now twice as difficult to crack open a Joe figure!

As for SW, it simply wouldn't work. You of all people should know that. Too many unique costumes for that. Sure figures like Stormies etc. could utilize it. But that's about it.

Finally found the TBS Mara @ Target today; this is the only time I've ever seen the figure in person (or, in plastic). Superb toy; I had never really appreciated the sculpt before finally getting this. Great articulation; nice outfit; the hair looks great, etc.

It's a shame these figures are so HTF, since most of them are so well done.

That being said, the packaging was (as we all know) terrible; the figure was coming off the card. It's good I'm not a carded collector. Thankfully, the accessories are all here...

I decided to give the Desert Ambush Scarlett head swap a try and I am very pleased with the results. The socket is a little snug and the face is slightly more pale than the arms, but, over all, I think that she looks much better.

Did you have to do any custom work to make the head fit? Or is it a direct swap? That one looks pretty good. Might have to try it.

The hair is perfect, the face not so much. Doesn't quite have that sternness of Mara.

I have an extra of that hairpiece. Maybe I'll try putting that hair piece onto a Mara head.

If Hasbro decides to re-edit the figure, I think TimArt's solution is the perfect medium. All that said, I'm not holding my breath for another release.

My father found the figure a few months ago, and I've told him and kept an eye out myself for another one to little luck. All that said, either I'm getting one for Christmas or buying one myself afterward. Probably eventually all three Jades. Then I'll look for the Marvel Universe Black Widow head :P

I finally decided to customize mine - I too liked the stern look on the face but that hairdo! So I cut some "hair" with a sharp blade and resculpted the whole upper portion of it. And repainted the eyes, eyebrows and lips - Hasbro failed here, too.

I just got one of these at Disney store. THey were 30% off, so I figured, why not?

While thinking about doing a different custom, I decided to separate Mara's headsculpt from her hairsculpt. Then I swapped in a different head:

https://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/DSC_04133.jpg

The head is the 25th Anniversary GI Joe Scarlett head (with a little paint added to her lips) glued onto Mara's original hairsculpt.

Only took me about 4 years to finally figure this out.

Lol, I would have replaced the hair not the head.

I actually tried Mara's headsculpt for a different custom I'm working on, and it ALMOST works from certain angles.

But it's a really rough sculpt, especially when you look at the face directly head on.

Some of its features are a little too harsh or prominent for my preferences.

Yeah, the hair just reminds me of 70/80s Farrah Fawcett. I've seen some customs using the head from Shae Vizla, but I thought her sculpt was too mean looking.
