This is the only one I am considering. Since Chewie was my first original fig, I think he is the only one that will be added into my collection. I just hope he is easy to acquire and at a reasonable price.

Still undecided on this one. Boba was an easy choice to get. The Han looks fugly, so that's a big pass. The non-human looking figures seem to work the best in this scale - Vader, Sand People, Chewie. Having to wait till Feb factors into it, too.

To me, "Digitally scanned from mint 3 " Kenner originals and reproduced" means they are exact replicas. Pretty obvious to anyone they are not. Very disappointed. There should be no artistic liberties taken. the seam lines do seem exaggerated too. im still getting them, but slightly less enthusiastic.

I would contact BBTS about it.

One thing I like about BBTS, aside from the lightning fast delivery and awesome packing, is the "collector's grade" thing they have. It sounds like a total racket, but, in the end, an extra $2 is nothing. They replace anything not in perfect condition.

Big time peace of mind.

That REALLY sucks. As much as I like the way BBTS packs, at least GG replaces bad product. That last awesome customer service experience more than sold me on GG from here on out. It also really got me back into this line in a big way.

For the dents, try a hair dryer. it may take a while longer than a heat gun, but you have more control. it will also take out those white stress marks you get when clear plastic bends. For the scratches and scuffs, get this stuff called Novus Fine Scratch Remover.

http://www.webstaurantstore.com/novus-plastic-polish-2-fine-scratch-remover-2-oz-bottle/novus-plastic-polish-2-fine-scratch-remover-2-oz-bottle.jpg

It's formulated just for plastics and took a few of the scuffs that were on my big head Han bubble off BEAUTIFULLY. It's now totally perfect.

Got it. Mine had a few areas of scuffing, but I had it looking 100% mint in about 45 seconds. To be honest, I think this is an issue with the way GG has them shipped from their factories - which sucks. The need to add some sort of scratch protection between them when they pack them face to face. The backs of the cases are totally scuff free.

Sorry to hear, TW.

I agree and for $100 shipped collectables they SHOULD NOT BE SOLD TO US LIKE THIS!

Something as easy as Tissue paper or poly bags can take care of the scuffs. I don't know what they can do about the bent or creased corners. Individually box maybe and then put in a master case?

I have the same problem with a big head Han I ordered from BBTS. The protective case has a noticeable dent along with numerous scuff marks.

I asked if I could exchange the item for another one in better condition. Was told I could send it back for a full refund but they didn't offer an exchange. Said they'd give me $5 BBTS credit on my next purchase?

Totally agree. This line is geared toward collectors (as all GG products) and most of us will display them in the case. What's the point if cases arrive damaged and scratched and we can't get replacements? This would discourage me from buying new releases.

I am curious to try the hair dryer trick. Thanks for sharing.

I'd be careful with a hair dryer! They need to give/sell replacement cases, simple as that!

Ah. I'd still hit them up regardless. Worse thing they can say is no.

.

Here's what BBTS told me. " Unfortunately due to the type and size of the packaging, that sounds typical for what we received. I am fairly certain, based upon your description, that we won't have one in better condition to exchange. If you would prefer to return it for a full refund, please let me know. Also, let us know if you can accept a prepaid return label sent via email from UPS.

Thanks!

I'm SOL. I'm not going to pay close to $100 for screwed up product..............

I'm having the worst time with BBTS and Gentle Giant.

As stated earlier I purchased a big head Han from BBTS and it arrived with a dent in the protective case as well as some scuffing.

This was my first experience with BBTS.

I emailed them immediately and said I would like to exchange for one that was not damaged.

Customer service rep Rita said she could not do that since I purchased standard grade which was my only option but I could return it for a full refund.

Fair enough.

I emailed and talked to Greg by phone at Gentle Giant and he said he would handle my situation personally. This was a week ago and I have yet to hear from him.

Today I decided to ship Han back to BBTS for a refund and I asked Rita if she would provide a prepaid return label. She would not do it since I ordered Han in standard condition.

I sent Rita the response BBTS customer service manager gave Turbowars about sending his 12" Chewbacca back and she still wouldn't give me a prepaid return label.

This is unacceptable. It's going to cost me $10 - $15 to ship back a damaged item?

And I have yet to hear from Greg at Gentle Giant.

All i want is a replacement protective case. And I would be happy to pay for one within reason. Talk about terrible customer service.

Initially I was going to purchase several of the Gentle Giant 12" Vintage figures...not now.

Any suggestions other than using a hair dryer to fix my dented protective case?

Give Greg a bit more time, or call him back to find if there's been any progress made. A week isn't that much time to give, IMO. He's always done great by me.

Greg is helping you about something you bought from BBTS?

Greg asked if I was getting the runaround from one of their distributors and I said yes. He said he would handle it personally and gave me his email address at Gentle Giant.

I'll give him a few more days. I'm sure he's busy with Vader and Leia shipping.

Hey Glitch, is Novus Fine Scratch Remover available at retail or do you have to order it?

It should be available at any retailer around you that sells plastics. I bought it at a store out here on the West Coast called Tap Plastics.

Greg came through! He's sending a replacement case and tray for Big head Han even though I purchased him through BBTS.

Talk about great customer service on Gentle Giant's behalf. Still not sure how I feel about BBTS but they did give me a $5 store credit.

Because of Greg I will continue to purchase more GG 12" vintage figures.

Awesome news!

Gentle Giant customer service has really stepped it up of late. I've been dealing with Jewell and she has been GREAT. She sent me a replacement 12" Fett free of charge when my Han/Chewy order failed to process.

This is why I will NEVER order these from anyone else but GG. They ROCK!

Right, but mine was a replacement Fett for one that was damaged by UPS - not just a bonus. Jewell just happened to notice that it had not been taken care of yet and took it upon herself to make it right - which was AWESOME of her.

Sorry about that. I just didn't know it was coming. Jewell just took it upon herself to replace it and didn't let me know it was on the way with my Han(s) and Chewbacca. It was a TOTAL surprise. I didn't even know they had a file of such things.

100% total class act!

BBTS didn't offer to help.

After reading the posts here about Greg at Gentle Giant I decided to contact him. The worst he could say was no. Surprisingly he offered to send a replacement after hearing of my troubles with one of their distributors (BBTS).

It's all about good customer service. Because of him I'll purchase another Gentle Giant 12" Vintage...just not through BBTS.

I know this belongs in the Han thread but just wanted to say Greg from Gentle Giant came through for me today.

He was going to send a replacement protective case for my Big Head Han (which I ordered from BBTS) that came damaged.

To my surprise he sent a new packaged Small Head Han in perfect condition! Talk about great customer service!

So these figures were laserscanned yet are out of scale to each other compared to the originals? Now that's funny, at least if you haven't ordered these... http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Was the laser scanner calibrated differently between figure scanning sessions? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif
