Ok - new guy post.. I tried to find a thread but no luck. Apologies if it is out there already.

Listening to all the talk about the EU - the thought hit me - what happens after GL is gone? I mean he won't commune G level canon as a force ghost. Who carries the torch going forward?

As a longtime comic fan, I don't want the Star Wars Universe to suffer all of the pains of multiple creators and ret-cons that comics suffer from.

On a similar note - could the EU use an "ultimate" treatment? Like Marvel did to the core superheros, updated with (initially) a few creative voices to re-create the post movie universe?

I would hope Dave is the heir apparent, but with so much money chasing the franchise, I am worried that accountants will lead and not story tellers.

Tell me I am wrong, wrong wrong http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I pray that the day doesn't come soon, but when it does, I want Dave Filoni at the helm of this franchise.

I agree 100% - Filoni really gets it- to a level of detail and passion that is amazing (and puts my fandom to shame).

I've always kind of felt like this is what GL was doing when he was teaching Filoni and crew "how to make Star Wars."

I would hope that with the Live Action series underway, GL is doing something similar with the show runners over there as well, and that everything will stay in good hands.. unlike other Star franchises and there problems once the creator was gone.

Welcome to the forums, btw http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yes, I agree with this. It's like the old master, tutoring his pupil who one day, will become the master. Perhaps this is what GL has in mind for the future of Star Wars.

If that's the case, then Filoni has my support, 100%

Dave Filoni and the crew are very capable of running the show after GL is gone. I wonder who he'll get to captain the live action series though? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'd say that it's very very likely that Katie Lucas and/or Jett Lucas will helm Star Wars after GL.

Of course I'm always open to assist them. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

How old is GL and I wonder what his parents died of?
If there's any heart disease In his family that would
be a consideration given his girth.

Ha! I was just worried that we would start taking bets on when the Grim Reaper would drop by. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Well, first of all I would probably cry for six months after GL's death

And then, I'll pray for the "All EU is Canon" announcement.
