I could really use some shipping help from someone out there. I have a PF Exc. Grevious for sale but am having hard time trying to find someone to ship it at a fair rate. UPS will double box it and insure it for 200.00! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif That is crazy!! I also tried FedEx but the people there were clueless. I am asking 400.00 + shipping for this statue but the problem is trying to give a ballpark figure for the total on shipping. Please help! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks, Rock

$40 to me sounds like a reasonable amount to ship. I believe I paid around that when I got mine off Ebay. I don't know why UPS would want to double box it...

I take it you don't have the original shipping box, but you do have the inner color box? It sounds like UPS is wanting to do their whole "pack and ship" thing with him, but even if that's the case it's way more than necessary. Maybe there was some miscommunication. If you just put the color box in an appropriately sized brown cardboard box, you can probably send it for $40-$50 insured.

Yeah, you definitely want to try and avoid having UPS package things for you, especially a large item like this. That will shoot the price up quite a bit.

I just shipped a 1:1 Palpatine bust for $30 fully insured from IN to SC, with a dimensional weight of 39 lbs, actual weight 17.85 lbs through UPS. Hope that gives you a rough idea.

DO NOT let UPS pack it for you. I picked up a Legacy Falcon for someone and UPS charged me close to $50 to box it and ship it themselves. Dirty SOBs. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also, do not just wrap it in brown paper. Whoever ships it will toss it around and damage the box and statue.

Sadly, you'd think this goes without saying. But I got a POTF 12" Dewback off Ebay once that came wrapped in paper. The results were atrocious. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I just recently sold my PF Grievous here on the boards. I shipped it using FedEx. Insured for $400 and having direct signature confirmation, it was $36.09. Mine was loose, so the box I used to ship it was very big(compared to the factory inner box which it sounds like you have) to accomodate all of the pieces without them touching and having a chance at banging into each other during shipping. So, you should be able to ship it for maybe even less than that. And by the way, FedEx is typically cheaper than UPS. Hope this helps.
