The live taping of this show was fun. The endless Gonk parodies was something. And according to Jason and Jimmy, mine was the best. "Gonkzilla" Although, I think they just said that to end it.

Oh no! Yoda in carbonite!

Wish I could listen to the live show, but the time difference makes it impossible.

I love listening to you guys talk about Star Wars, and(Although, I'm not a fan of TCW tbh) I'll be happy when the Clone Wars round-tables start again, because the constant Quoting and soundbites about the Canon/continuity row is starting to really annoy me... I'm a massive EU fan, and I'm basically listening to people trying to find a way to pull my Church down lol, I dont want to know if an EU writer or Dave Filoni thinks that the EU is Canon, or if George knows that Luke has a Son Named Ben... I enjoy the Books and comics Greatly and the more I hear about the Real world complications of their existence, the less I'm immersed in their goodness http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif so Great Show, but lets forget about continuity for a couple of shows hey? I'm a Fan of The Star Wars Universe and its many thousands of Characters and worlds, not Star Wars as an IP or a franchise, I'm a fan Luke Skywalker not mark Hamill http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I know there was lots of Other Cool stuff in the show hehe, But as an EU fan, said subject tends to stand out for me http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Finished the show and it was great.

Couple of things. Didn't Rick McCallum confirm Boba Fett for the live-action show in one of last year's Insiders? The one with Boba Fett on the cover and it says Bounty Hunters! There's an inteview with Rick and he says it's goint to be Boba. So, why are we still questioning it? It seems confirmed to me.

Also, the lightsaber sounds in Trek deal. I've actually heard that sound in other movies when electrical explosions happen where huge sparks are shooting out. So, that may be an actual sound that Ben recreated for his purposes.
But the main question is has anyone looked for the original version of the episode to see if it's in there? That would be case closed, I think.

I thought the lightsaber sounds were made from the sound of a CRT. From when Ben Burrt was moving house and his microphone fell behind his TV. And the other lightsaber sounds were made him wrapping a wire around an antennae, there's some old footage somewhere of Ben doing the lightsaber sounds for ROTJ with his wire rapped antenna looking like a kid playing Star Wars in front of his TV.

The dry ice I think was used for Artoo's squeals.

My favourite story of Ben Burtt has to be when he was doing Vader's sounds, like putting the microphone inside a scuba tank and having Vader's voice booming through empty coridoors to get the right resonnance.

Another great show guys. You better break out the Redbull for Jimmy Mack, looks like he has a few all nighters ahead.

Can`t stop off to play Gonkey Kong!!!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That Star Trek saber sound is extreemly easy to solve. Just find the episode non-remastered & see if the sound is there or not.

Fantastic show as always, folks!

I was surprised there was no discussion of Star Tours II in the news portion of this episode. Disney and Lucasfilm confirmed it at the D23 convention a few weeks ago. The current attraction will close in late 2010 and reopen in 2011. From the look of it, the new ride will be a podrace.

Look on YouTube under "d23 star tours." Lucasfilm did a great presentation; it's definitely worth seeing (and talking about)!

Also, Jimmy, re: Star Trek - the episodes are also available on DVD in their non-restored versions. That would be your best way to go back and see if the sound effect was in the original or not.
