Sweet! Captain Rex!

Hmm, I might want to get a CW poster to get them all to sign...

sucho23
09-12-2009, 11:48 AM
If you bought a Fast Pass or VIP ticket you already get one.

Cperry06
09-12-2009, 12:41 PM
I have one and will be getting the free poster too. I may get two going for one to trade.

ChancellorStrife
09-12-2009, 04:25 PM
I shall be tweeting links to the 40 stories in 40 days countdown when I get home. Everyone do the same with #fandays3 at the end, let's see if we can get it into the top trending topics!

Cperry06

Will there be announcement 39 today (Sunday)?

Eric_Geller
09-13-2009, 11:25 AM
I wish Ben had an RSS feed for the FD3 announcements. Then I could subscribe to updates instead of checking the website intermittently.

Did I see something about a fandays twitter?

Ashley Eckstein added for announcement #39.

How do we get these folk to go out to a bar for a party afterwards?

Vader71
09-13-2009, 06:51 PM
I was not on the guest list but I believe last year an invitation only party followed the first night of the show.

Cperry06
09-13-2009, 09:33 PM
Ben dais in the next week he will have "a couple" OT signers announced. Looks like just 2-3 OT signers and possibly Anthony Daniels just on Saturday.

Hopefully that means he still has quiet a few prequel names to announce, or even better, would love to see a few more behind the scenes people (Ben Burrt perhaps!?)

benstevens
09-13-2009, 09:41 PM
We actually had Burt and lost him before he could confirm. He took a sound gig that conflicted with the date. We have asked if one day might be possible, but likely not. He is signing a bunch of stuff for OPX though that we will likely offer first at Fan Days.... Some very cool BTS stuff from EP4 and 5.

DarthPotts1975
09-13-2009, 10:11 PM
Oh Man, Ben Burrt!! Now that would have been a great guest.

cprav
09-14-2009, 05:19 AM
I know we had decided on a twitter hastage #fandays3 but as far as I know that's it.

Thanks for the info re: Ben Burt http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

ChancellorStrife
09-14-2009, 08:25 AM
In case anyone didn't know, James Arnold Taylor was also the voice of Plo Kloon, and Dee also did the voice of Rodian Onaconda Farr (Bombad Jedi).

Here's hoping Ben gets some villains from CW! Can't have Matt Wood and Jaime King outnumbered! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Corey Burton would be a hell of a score, since he does Dooku, Bane, and Ziro!

Chris Wyman
09-15-2009, 02:02 PM
#37: Everyone’s favorite Clone Wars baddie joins Fan Days III. Nika Futterman voice of Asajj Ventress in coming!

Eric_Geller
09-15-2009, 03:34 PM
Question: Since the TCW Autograph Combo Ticket mentions that you get seven signatures for one low price, does that mean we aren't getting an eighth or ninth TCW guest?

benstevens
09-15-2009, 04:52 PM
That just means, that's all the folks included in the ticket... We have Jaime King, and a couple others not yet mentioned coming that will be doing business as usual transactions at the show.

-Ben

Okay, good to know. My main worry was that new guests would be added and the ticket would be revised (and repriced), so early birds might lose out. But I can see that's not the case.

#36: We are happy to announce Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) from all six STAR WARS films, and voice of C-3PO on TV’s Clone Wars, will be appearing at Fan Days on Saturday.

Due to Anthony’s limited signing schedule at Fan Day on Saturday, we anticipate only VIP & SpeedPass customers will have access to his autograph table.

With Daniels there, my wallet just ran out of the house. I have so many things that I want him to sign. No eating in October for me. I need to use that money at Fan Days. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for all the nice comments. Right now just one more guest confirmed and one pending invite. The balance of the news stories will concentrate on artist, programming, OPX offerings, etc. I wanted to get the actors up first instead of spreading them out so you guys can have a chance to prepare the photos you want, get the pre-sale ready, etc.

I am looking forward to more artists!
Hopefully there will be some detail on the sketch cards before the show and what will be in the VIP set. Would love to see artist specific cards like FD1 and enough cards to get one quickie from all of the artists that are participating. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have my VIP purchase, SW Concert tickets, Breakfast tickets and the Clone Wars group buy....this thing is getting expensive but its all so cool that I can not pass on anything either.

Is the last guest a major one? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Update #34

Season Two of Star Wars: The Clone Wars features the rise of the Bounty Hunters…and so much more. Lucasfilm’s Steve Sansweet lifts the curtain a bit more on the continuing hit animated series on Cartoon Network and the imminent release of the Season One boxed DVD and Blu-ray sets. Plus, the countdown continues towards the launch of the mighty new MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic as well as other games from LucasArts. What’s ahead for Star Wars over the next several years? Plenty! Come and hear about it from an insider’s perspective.

Update #33:

You would be hard pressed to find another actor who has worn more masks in the STAR WARS series then british actor Jerome Blake whose credits include Rune Haako, Oppo Rancisis, Mas Ameeda, Orn Free Taa, Mik Regrap, Horox Ryyder, and Graxol Kelvyyn! Make sure you stop by and give Jerome a nice big Fan Days welcome!

Gonna be interesting to hear what Sansweet has to say about TCW S2, given that we will be 4 episodes into the season before his panel is held.

I was hoping for a good OT guest to be announced. Blake is a great guy, but he does a lot of shows. I think he was the last guest besides maybe one more addition. Hopefully that other addition will be Hamill. Otherwise I won't be adding too much to my posters on this trip.

sucho23
09-19-2009, 04:23 PM
I don't claim to be an expert on guests but last year would you say that

Al Lampert
Robert Watts
Leeanna Walsman
Jack McKenzie

Were all rarer guests (don't sign at tons of shows)? Looking at this years guests, who would you say is on the rare side?

Holla300

Don Bies doesnt sign TTM anymore
Hugh Quarshie and Phil Eason dont pop up too many times but they do do TTM.

Id say those are 3 atleast in my eyes.

Are we just limited to getting the five sketch cards, or can we also commision extra sketch cards on the official cards directly from the artists? If so, will you be sending them out ahead of time to the artists, so we can make arrangements with them? Or, do we have to wait until the show.

Thanks.

That's a cool deal on the concert and buses. I'm seeing it next week or I'd sign up for sure. I'm almost tempted to do it just to see the concert a second time. But alas... I'm not going to get to Dallas until late Friday evening and would be hard to change my plans.

But a very cool deal... people should definitely sign up for this!!!

PURCHASED!!! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Also from the post sale page:

Thank you for purchasing a photo-op with Froggy's Photos.

Please read below as it could answer any questions you may have about your purchase http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif Thank you!

1. You will NOT recieve tickets in the mail, bring your paypal reciept and/or photo id to the Photo Booth. Tickets pickup, photos and photo pick up will all be here!!

2. The schedule is available usually a week before shows and will be posted at the bottom of the pre-sales page

3. If you would like to see a panel that is in your photo-op time, please contact one of the email addresses and make sure the ticket is transferable to another time or day.

4. Up to 2 adults is a size reference. So an adult and a couple small children is fine, or 2 adults and a baby is fine also. A 3rd adult is $10.00, 4th is $10.00 any more than that will have to speak to Froggy on prices. You can pay for the added people at our sales desk. This applies to MOST photo-ops.

5. A photo-op comes with 1-8x10 gloss print, if you wish to have another copy or wish to have the digital copy emailed to you, then you must purchase them at the sales desk BEFORE your photo time.

6. This is for photo-ops ONLY, ALL autographs are done at the at the guests table and are the sole descretion of the guests. You can NOT have things signed during the photo or give gifts to the guests during the photo-op.

7. We are doing all single and group shots together, so if you see your actors name in a line w other actors that IS your time to be at the photo room!! Do NOT come late, we will NOT hold up the guest if it is beyond 5 minutes after the shoot time and there are no other customers. We will NOT refund tickets because you were late. We can exchange them for another actor, if you cannot show up to next shoot.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU GUYS!!

Austin Fan Force is currently working on the question sets for the trivia contest to be held Saturday 4:00p at the con. Not everyone will be able to be in the show, as we are limited on time, and would ask that anyone wishing to participate stop by our table to sign up. You must answer three questions correctly (insert Monty Python reference here) to be entered into the drawing pool. We will pull 5 names from a hat (or helmet, whichever) and those five will be brought on stage to play. Sort of like Jeopardy (without phrasing it as a question), the top three scores after the first round move on to the next round, where scores are reset and anything can happen! (yes there will be a Final Jeopardy question to wager points, so it ain't over til its over!)

Adult trivia (15 and up) will be based on the movies, with some 'special' questions peppered in, so anything from 1977 to the present is fair game!

For the kids' trivia (aged 14 and under) questions will be Clone Wars-centric, and everyone will be eligible for prizes.

We'd like a big audience turnout (room seats 200) and in between rounds we'll be giving the audience opportunities to answer for some swag!

And when you stop by the Austin Fan Force table, why not get a raffle ticket? We'll be raffling off some items over the weekend, who knows, you might go home with a copy of Comic Book: the Movie, signed by Mark Hamill!

Kevin also got approval to give away a very limited number of prints of this image. Stop by Kevin’s table for details at the show. Click here (http://www.scifiexpo.com/DCC/fandaysIII-exclusives.html) for a bigger image.

Ben, how soon will we know if someone is able to replace Hayden?

I'm posting in our Expo forums mostly on that subject. So far no one has been available that we have made offers to. I'm getting the feeling it's too late to get one of these names we are trying for. I haven't given up, but don't feel to optimistic at this point. If I don't have someone Monday noon, Im stopping efforts. Got too many other things to take care of to get the show rolling.

Fair enough Ben. A big "Thank You" for trying. Any chance of another voice actor if your attempts fail? Or did you want to stay with the one non SW guest?

Trust me, Im crossing my fingers and saying my prayers Bell will come through. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Why is Wednesday the last update? Shouldn't it be Friday?

Vader71
10-17-2009, 09:32 AM
I would bet there are too many things to do those last two days and those driving in may be on the road so having all the updates two days before the show seems reasonable.

I love the update deal, brings me back daily to check the update and is a great way to get all the details about the show out and keep it fresh on the minds of everyone. I hope this becomes a regular thing.

I agree. the daily update is AWESOME http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif totally gets me psyched every day http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm glad they're not going right up until friday, I'll be on the road that day and Thursday will probably be way too busy for me to deal with whatever the update might be (if it required 'dealing' with)

FD III Dilemma: Should I go to the Don Bies or the Gus Lopez and Duncan Jenkins Collecting Panel? Both are at 12 on Saturday.

I'm a huge R2 fan & a fan of vintage collecting as well. Decisions, decisions. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Have you heard either of them before? Don will probably give the same talk he had at CIV (which was very good). On the other hand Gus & Duncan's seems to be new (I've attended several of their presentations over the years; they're always great)

Exactly. The schedule of events throughout the day seems woefully out of date compared to the rest of the site. Can this page be updated: http://www.scifiexpo.com/DCC/fandaysIII-schedule.html.

Woot!

Edit: Just kidding! The page has been updated. Thanks!

Nope. Haven't heard either of them. But if Don Bies did this at CIV maybe I can catch him at C5. I'll just have to see how I feel when I get there.

Just looking at the schedule, I think time will be tight getting to Steves line at getting all of the CW autographs as well even with the SpeedPass. CW guest are at 2 without the discount ticket and Steve starts at three.
