The Weekly ForceCast welcomes Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matt Senreich to the show to talk about their Skate Party Tour and Jimmy and I go deep into what was announced (and not announced) at last week's San Diego Comic Con.

Awesome! I can't wait to hear this one.

G4? The ForceCast will knock them down a notch. They'll be G3 after this. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Jason and Jimmy would make fantastic panel hosts. Can you imagine the ForceCast providing exclusive live video coverage of a Star Wars event? Multi-camera live shots, commentators brought in via Skype, floor interviews with special guests and attendees, maybe even an exclusive sit-down with Sansweet! That would be the pinnacle of Star Wars reporting, as far as I'm concerned.

I was reading some pretty nasty comments on the official site blog, I think they might go even lower than G3...G1 maybe?

Bad joke, obscure reference.. it's what I'm here for http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm surprised that Jason took down the G4 clowns as strongly as he did. Bravo. (But maybe they still need a friend.)

We've been so accustomed to hearing and seeing true fans provide Star Wars content (not only on the ForceCast, but also in the novels, comics, games, and that little cartoon series) that we're stunned when two non-fans come into the mix and try to "fit it" and host a fan-oriented forum. Jason hit the nail on the head when he said that they didn't get Dave's comments because they didn't know the significance of the visuals. Get out of the way, people! Introduce Dave, then let him do his gig. Learn to listen to the "guest" rather than try to one-up him with quips and one-liners. Do some research before getting up on stage. Maybe some writers were at fault and these two were just "faces", but someone dropped the ball!

Ahhh. Hrmph. Urgh.

And though we didn't get the full CV announcement, we would have easily recovered from that had the hosts had a clue about what fandom is all about. Fratboy and Sorority sister need to stay home. Let Sansweet run the show. Call Jimmy or Jason and give them the stand. Dustin was there -- why not have him do the gig?

Like Jason, I've never watched "Attack of the Show" before -- I just got G4 about a month ago -- but I'm not likely to ever watch it again after this fiasco. And frankly, I don't think the people outside the forum knew what was going on either. I was underwhelmed.

I loved the live chat the night before. With or without the announcements, it's fun to just chat about what's current in the Star Wars universe(s). And I enjoyed the news about TFU and Clone Wars Season 2. Loved the table recording session as well. But the G4 goofs kept getting in the way.

Way to call it like you see it, Jason and Jimmy.

Oh, and I loved the rest of the ForceCast this week as well.

I blame the writers more than the clowns. They were faces, but they didn't do much to help either. It's weird because on Attack of the Show, they are not nearly that annoying, they can actually seem to be watchable.

G4 really should've had Blair Butler up there instead of Kevin, Blair is a real fan and if you watch the full G4 show, she shows her SW fandom quite a bit.

Well said Stuart. Very well said.

And yes, Paul, Blair Butler is a big SW fan. She could have done better alone on that stage than Kevin and Olivia did combined.

Men.... http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Olivia was much worse than Kevin. She should have been replaced by Blair. (Actually, both Blairs should have replaced Kevin and Olivia.) You just wanted two pretty things to look at. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've never been able to attend Comic-Con, so I was super pumped to be able to see the Star Wars spectacular. Wow was I disapointed. Those AOTS host just were not good and had no knowledge of the Star Wars Universe. This G4 show was like a Bad EU novel. The only reason that I watched the whole show was because it was Star Wars.

I actually didn't watch it. And after hearing the reports of it, I'm glad I didn't. Missing the Boba Fett reference is unforgivable in my book. Clearly, Dave was expecting true fans to be covering this, so he was trying to give a facetious hint. But Olivia, with her "Oh. He looks sad. He looks sad. I'm so funny. Laugh at me." just ruined it. Obviously, she's just pretending to be a Star Wars fan. (Side note: at least it's a good sign for Star Wars if there are people pretending to be fans.") Shame on you, Olivia. You've lost your nerd cred.

I watch G4 and Attack of the Show when I can, but once their little 'playtime' began, I began to just grow ever increasing tired of them. This is a Star Wars panel, not a jungle gym or hair dressing convention. I wanted to hear the news, and see the people that make Star Wars come alive, not be distracted by two people who think that it's more important to look stupid and entertain than let the panel give information.

They both made the spectacular a huge downfall of what it should of been. And if they thought that was a 'good' special on G4...I have to say, they don't know what it good. Now everytime I watch G4 and Attack of the Show I just get flashbacks of the "spectacular" and just have to turn the channel.

"Thanks G4 for providing us indept coverage on Star Wars at SDCC and thanks for making the Star Wars panel a great failure."

I'm officially more pissed off at G4 and there "spectacular" show at SDCC. I am sitting here watching AOTS (Attack of the show, not clones http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) and they did a piece on the Star Trek convention that was last weekend in Las Vegas. This was a polar opposite of what we saw in San Diego. It was done with a more professional journalistic eye, not poking fun, no "Doug Skywalker" horribleness. It's just very weird, and kind of a little insulting to us SW fans.

I think Jason is right, we are the new Trekkies. We are now the fans it's okey to make fun of. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I don't have G4 so I didn't get to watch the show, but it sounds like I'm better off that way! I was able to get all the news and information via theforce.net, the ForceCast, starwars.com, the starwars.com official blog, etc. Who needs G4?!

Next year, stream it live over the internet on the StarWars.com site. Want a way to get more members into the official Hyperspace fan club? Make it a Hyperspace exclusive.
