The Force-Cast is back and bigger than ever. Join Jason and Jimmy Mac as they review the big night in Chicago when George Lucas was honored by the Siskel Film Center. Hear exclusive podcast coverage from behind-the-scenes and backstage with GEORGE LUCAS! Plus, incredible highlights from JON FAVREAUs one-on-one interview with George - live from the stage at The Four Seasons main ballroom. Its an up-close and intimate look at the creator of Star Wars focusing on his past, present and future. Tickets for this event were 400 bucks a pop, but The Force-Cast was there leaving NO FAN BEHIND with an amazing report from a mind-blowing evening. Also, we hear about everything that went down at Ralph McQuarries 80th birthday party from PAUL BATEMAN of RalphMcQuarrie.com. Find out what happened and who was on the star-studded guest list. And if that isnít enough, DAN MADSEN, former Star Wars Fan Club President, stops by with info on how you can own a piece from his huge personal collection. And of course, birthdays, Billy Dee and the hottest news from the Star Wars galaxy with The Weekly Force-Cast!

Amazing show guys! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the George Lucas coverage.....As a Chicago suburbs local, it KILLED me not being able to spring for the tickets to this shindig. Your microcast and podcast coverage has really left no fans behind! The recording quality was incredible....Jimmy Mac, just curious what kind of equipment you use for your mobile recording rig? Sounded like you were were recording straight from the soundboard; is that correct? Thank you guys again for all your hard work and dedication. I hope to meet both of you at Fan Days 3, and maybe bump in to Jimmy in line for Billy Dee at Wizard World in August http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Only stand in front of Jimmy in that line if your name is "Jim". http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif My wife and I were both cracking up when we listened to that segment. Wonder how that guy is enjoying his 12" Lando! It's easy to see how that could've happened. I've been in some autograph lines where they corral you through so fast, it's unbelieveable.

Loved the segment towards the end of the show where J&J are discussing the possible topics/items that could be announced during the live G4TV SW Spectacular broadcast coverage from SDCC:

Official C5 announcement
Live-action TV series
Second SW animated TV series
Star Tours 2.0
SW Saga released on BD
3D Saga theatrical releases
TCW Season 2 news
Official George Lucas beard grooming kit

So which item(s) do you think we will hear information about during the show on July 25th? http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think these are pretty likely:

SW Saga released on BD
TCW Season 2 news

And even though I'm dying for this:

Official C5 announcement

I don't think it's big enough (for the general public, I mean) to rate live TV coverage.

Just noticed today that the panel will not be live. It will be live on tape. I keep seeing the Star Wars spectacular listed as July 24th from 5:15pm - 6:15pm, but G4 isn't airing anything until 2:00pm July 25th

Extremely good eyes, Paul. I completely missed this when I first read the article.

Less than a month to go...

This means any announcement they make will be leaked before the panel airs. Oh well...

That's a relief; it's not like I get G4 over here... http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Whew. Thanks for clearing that up Jawas! When I heard the name in the 'cast, I was sure it was an ethnic slur http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Be careful what you wish for:

Dagoville Postcard (http://www.zazzle.com/dagoville_postcard-239350124790097473)

Caveats:
1) Be sure to check the number of cards you are ordering. For some reason the default is "8", not the more sensible "1".
2) They may not actually make it, or it may disappear soon. You know it is a copy "right" vs. copy "wrong" thing. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Not to make you run for the credit cards or anything, but yes it really is for sale. Some people have bought them already. We do not know how long they will be available, though.

I learned my lesson from the "Who Is BJ Hughes: Wesa Wanna Know" Tshirt. I got my postcards (though they haven't arrived yet. Tomorrow, I imagine.).

The postcards are fantastic!

Thanks again guys for coming through for all of us who couldn't be there for such a great event. The attitude and effort behind the idea of "no fan left behind" is what makes the Star Wars community so awesome! The coverage was great and I couldn't have enjoyed the opportunity to see inside George's mind any more. It was truly fascinating to hear his take on so many aspects of storytelling and film making.

I (only just) listened to that episode.

While listening to George Lucas, something very interesting happened: I completely disconnected that speech from Star Wars.
It was definitely not the "Creator of Star Wars" addressing the fans (or flock), it was, as J&J pointed out, a captivating lecture on ... what was it about by the way?

Well, it struck me as being a discourse on humanism, an approach I'm particularly sensitive to.
Maybe that's one of the things that place George Lucas so far from the conventional movie or entertainment circles.
He is giving a lot, and takes great pleasure in it, I think.

It will take me a long time to assimilate everything that's been said, but at the same time I don't want to scrutinize it all.

This podcast is one of the best gifts I've ever been offered.
Thank you Jason, Jimmy and the gang.
