I thought I'd seperate this thread from the main Masterpiece Edition (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=27&Board=Transformers&Number=2422922) thread since we get alot of traffic about the Masterpiece Transformers...and what better then having a thread just talking on Thundercracker!

Pretty much confirmed here (http://tformers.com/transformers-botcon-2008-takara/9352/news.html) that Thundercracker is on the way and he'd basically just be a reissue of Starscream in a different colour. Sounds like a good cheap way to release him!

Any thoughts on a Masterpiece Thundercracker? Would you buy him?

nah, 100 dollars just for a repaint. maybe hasbro gets the same idea and reissues starscream in these colors for 40 bucks, that sounds much better.

i'd buy the Hasbro redo for $40-50. Just don't make it a walmart exclusive! I only saw MP SS once, (got it) and never saw it EVER AGAIN -and I went to walmart many times after.

I need Hasbro to get the rights to sell Masterpiece Thundercracker in the states because I'm not paying $100 for a repaint.

Ditto for Skywarp! The Wal-mart Starscream seems to have sold well from what my American friends have told me, so surely TC and SW would do well too due to a trio completion desire in fans.

Oh smell yeah, I would get one! Thundercracker is the best jet 2nd only to Jetfire..3rd being Starscream. Bring the Thunder. Bring the Cracker. Bring the Cracker of Thunder!! (if it was under $50, if not then Hasbrow can stick it and twirl)

Same here. Saw him once, and ran away, with SS in tow, to the registers squeeling with joy. I understand not wanting a rehash of the Optimus Prime overstock, but too few is just as bad. I would buy this for roughly $50... If I could find it, that is.

Nothing on him yet, no updates in the MP grimlock thread.

I would buy more in a second of the US MP versions. I won't pay $100. Except maybe fore Soundwave or Grimlock but even then It'd be hard.

100 shipped is good for MP Megatron. You know that will never EVER come out in the states. If you have to pay an import price + shipping, so be it they're worth it. Doesn't help to find a sale or deal though.

I paid $150 for my MP Megs, when it first came out. It was worth it, because the store in Seattle that sold him did not have the altered version - so mine had no orange plug.

reminds me, i still have to take mine out. What's the best way to do that again???

bbts has mp megs for 75 and the stock handle acc. set for 40.

also tfsource.com has mp megs for 75!

I think Megs has gone down in popularity due to so many complaints on how complex he is. I don't know, I kinda like how complex the MPs are, that's what makes them unique. I wouldn't pay so much for a figure that was that big if it only had a G1 style transformation.

that makes me mad a little, b/c I bought my megs from bbts for 85 plus shipping. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Megs slip in popularity? No way. It's megatron. You gotta have some bot to stand w/prime and/or fight prime. A G1 classic. Come on, gun form megatron - the best version of all time.

What I meant is that MP Megs, the toy, has gone a bit in popularity. It seems that way since he started at $150 and is now down to $70ish. Whereas MP Skywarp is still being sold (even at Walmart.com) for $120.

Megs as a character is always going to be popular.

you've got a point with that. It's really annoying that skywarp is staying so high priced. I really want one but it's hard to justify with the price.

Jedi_Eeth_Koth

Yea, the MP Skywarp pricing is wierd.

I can get either the Walmart MP SS or the Takara MP SS for around $90 and he's not too common on many sites or shops. MP Skywarp is everywhere, including Walmart.com, and he's at $120. Doesn't make any sense - the common guy should be cheaper to get people into MPs.

If I ever see one cheap, I'll let you know. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It should just pop off, with alittle pressure. They're not glued on from what I know.

I still have not seen mp ss at my walmart yet the hasbro version I mean.

The Hasbro Walmart exclusive MP SS came and went awhile ago (I think late last year, November-ish) and no Walmart would have it in stock.

You can still buy that one or the Takara MP SS version on most online stores. They're both roughly the same price of around $90.

it annoys me though that the Takara version has the decepticon symbol on the nosecone and the US version does not. Talk about spiting collectors!!!!

Well depends on how accurate you want your Thundercracker to be.

I want to get the SS version and the Ult. BB.

Jedi_Eeth_Koth

I got the Ult BB at Walmart last month when they had him at $35 and I still feel alittle ripped off. His bot mode is very chunky and too many car bits hang off. The regular deluxe version is better than the Ult BB.

Any version of the MP Seeker mold is great, though. One of my all-time favorite TFs. The jet mode is soooo sleek; doesn't have any of the normal bot stuff sticking out - it looks like a real jet. And the bot mode is stellar. I also like the alternate missiles. Takara nailed that mold dead-on.

Total pass for me. This seeker mold is marginal for a masterpiece. I have the Walmart Masterpiece Starscream. Good enough for me.

If I had the extra cash, I'd give it to charity before I bought this.
