Creature and Rider dreams...

I was just looking at some of the McFarlane sculpts (specifically the IGUANTUS and TUSKADON steed) that are on display in my classroom and was thinking, what Creature and Rider would you most want Hasbro to create in 2008? The quality of the new Kybuck is outstanding from a sculpting point of view and hopefully won't be the last. If Hasbro could do just as good of a job in sculpting like the McFarlane company (INCREDIBLE DETAIL!!!), what would you want to see produced?

Right off my mind would be a brand new Hoth Luke with a new Tauntaun or Sandtrooper with a new Dewback...

Something new I hope we will eventually see is a Felcuia clone with a Gelagrub

This thread isn't really in the right forum, but the TAC forum is kind of a melting pot now, so...

I'm not too into a Luke w/ Tauntaun - more something I want from Lego, lol.

What's wrong with the POTF2 dewback? It's pretty well done.


However, if they really had to do a rider figure, I'd want the clone with Gelagrub. That thing is just SO COOL. However, it would almost certainly not fit in the packaging - Y&K works 'cuz Yoda is tiny. Hiwever, in a Odle-size package...it could a reality. Maybe the gelabrug would be a little smaller scale than in actuality, but hey, any gelagrub is better than no gelagrub.

I was meaning for this idea to be a part of the TAC line..or whatever line that follows it in 2008... we have been getting A LOT of vehicles with no real updates on the Riders with their steeds...and with the level of sculpting these days, Hasbro could produce some really incredible stuff that does not involve a lot of time and effort like re-creating a ship would... To me, the McFarlane, Sideshow, and Gentle Giant studios have raised the bar on this sort of stuff (especially with McFarlane releasing a 3" line that is crazy in detail and paint apps)...

I just wanted to generate some new dialog on a topic that might influence Hasbro in developing more involved sculpts...

With the Tauntaun idea... they could release one with an updated SA Hoth Luke and then release another one with a hooded Hoth Han... both of which collectors have been asking for for awhile.

The Mustafar flea and rider would be an awesome addition, especially with the other figures that were a part of this world...

It would be good to see the Tauntaun and Dewback sculpts with more articulation in the legs so that they could be placed in several different poses as opposed to just one... but that may be asking a bit much...
