    PLAY ARTS: Final Fantasy

I did a quick search put couldn't find a topic on these figures, but if there's already a thread please lock this topic.

Well after seeing the final fantasy photo shoot over at cool toy review, my interest in final fantasy has been rekindled. I got the first 3 advent children figures for christmas a couple years back and loved them. I never bought Cloud w/ Fenrir because it was to expensive at the time, but it looks like they released Cloud without the bike. I'm going to be buying him for sure.

The final fantasy 8 figures look sweet. But I wish they would stick to one game at a time instead of jumping around and only making three of the main characters from each game. I'd like to have a collection of the whole party. By the looks of it we'll never see Cid, Yuffie, or Barret which is diasspointing.

So what are your thoughts on this line? Hopefully I'm not the only collector here.

I bought Vincent Valentine for my g/f's son, he seems to enjoy it. I haven't handled it much, but if they're anything like the Dragon Quest VIII figures, it should be pretty cool! I got all 4 of those at a nearby Tower Records that was closing down

One of these days I'll pick up a Cloud or two for me & the boy.

I was fine, until I opened my FFX figures. as soon as I attempted to adjust Auron's leg, the peg holding the swivel knee joint snapped. I was pissed.

Then I tried to replace Tidus's hand so that he could hold his sword and received 2 more nasty surprises. The first was trying to pull the hand off, it stretched the post somewhat, weakening the structure, and then replacing the other hand, it was bent several times since the hand wouldn't really go back on. his hand is barely on right now, then his sword wouldn't fit in his hand very well, and in trying to get it to fit, the fassle snapped off. My FFX2, FFVIII, FFVIIAC and KH figures didn't have any of these problems. but it seems like they didn't do enough to make the FFX figures well. I haven't opened my Dragonquest VIII figures, and at this point I worry that the FFXII figures will also have problems inherent in the design.

Auron is the one that upset me the most. I was only attempting to adjust the position of his leg, and it fell into my hand. I wasn't even trying to force it.

Sorry to hear about that. I had the same problem with my AC Sephiroth. I wen't to swap hands and the peg got stuck in the arm.

I just saw that they release KH2 Sora in Valor and Final forms. I am so irritated that I didn't know about that. They're sold out.

I did place my preorder for FF7 AC series 2. and for the Sora Wisdom form

I always have loved these toys from this line and am sad to hear of the newer ones lack of possibility. I do recommend on the 8-10" figures to wait awhile as prices drop due to mass production and then pick them up. Odds are like the others they will bounce back in price, just like the original ones.

    Re: Play Arts: Final Fantasy

received my ffXII figures today. opened Ashe, hands swapped very easily, weapon no problem, I was happy. Opened Vaan, hands swapped easily, sword handle snapped while I was trying to get it to stay in his hand. bugger.

Now I am conerned about opening the other 2.

Edit: Ok I got the other 2 ok. The hands are much nicer on these than any other do far. I am having a lot of trouble seating the pegs on the handles into the hands so that they don't fall out.

I had sephiroth and leon but there ankles were too weak to stand so I sold them. I also have kh roxas and sora, soras leg snapped clean off the leg and broke the straps. roxas broke his foot and I had to glue it. My axel broke his hand pegs so I sold him too. They are great looking figures, but not good action figures. I will buy a new sora and axel, and maybe a few of the various sora variants.

LOL, you must be used to playing Kingdom Hearts. That'd probably be Squall not Leon.
