    Hasbro\'s STAR WARS Bi-Weekly Q&A Session - Part 3

Since the old thread has reached its limit, please continue posting your questions in this thread.

Remember that the Q&A sessions are now bi-weekly.

The next 3 questions will be sent in on Friday, to be answered next Friday. However, since next Friday is Toy Fair weekend, it remains to be seen if there will be any delays. Stay tuned!

    Re: Hasbro\'s STAR WARS Bi-Weekly Q&A Session - Part 3

This is a question that came up in the "Ask Hasbro" column some time last year and it is kind of in two parts. People were wondering why the big jump in price for the ROTS 3 3/4 figures line that were around $4.99 to $5.99 (I found that a good deal of places had them for the $4.99 price) to TSC 3 3/4 line that are priced at $6.99! Hasbro gave a response that I thought was a pretty lame response. They said that it was up to the individual store to set the price for their own product. If that is so, Hasbro is selling the same TSC line for $6.99 as well, so to me the question really was never answered as they (Hasbro) are selling the figures at the elevated price as well, and they are the ones who make the item so there must be a better answer because the one they gave does not fit. Second, do you know if Hasbro is going to hike up the price of TAC line this year as well? I know that it is coming with the collector coin and all, but if they do hike it up, how much higher is it going to go until the figures get to $10 a pop for just one! If Hasbro was thinking, they could have left the price for the ROTS line in place for TSC and then boosted the price for TAC line, they would probably have sold more items instead of having so much left on the pegs. In addition, I don't know about anyone else but I certainly get a bit tired of all the repaints of the same ol' figure over and over. Repaints of the clones is cool as it adds to ones collection but the same figure over and again with a different cloak or something? The money Hasbro spends to making these little cloaks and stuff could go into making new figures that collectors want to see.

    Re: Hasbro\'s STAR WARS Bi-Weekly Q&A Session - Part 3

Here are my volley of questions:

    1. In the history of the modern line, has there ever been any work toward producing a more movie accurate Millennium Falcon? Not a "scale" toy, but something other than the basic Kenner mold. If so, how far did it make it into production; and what are the chances of ever seeing one.

    2. Cantina aliens seem to be more popular with collectors than Jabba's aliens. I believe the Cantina scene is the most iconic "space fantasy" scene ever. When determining which cantina alien to produce as a figure, do you base your decision more on movie scenes or on popularity of a character? For example, the discision to make Myo to fill the sceen with Muftak and Djas Phur. If it is based upon movie sceens what's the possibility of such characters as Arleil Schous, Brainiac, F'u Man-Chu, & Bom Vimdin to sit with our Hem Dazon?

    3. You hinted in previous Q & As to maybe some sort of cinema scene of Han and Greedo's Cantina Alcove w/ table & chairs. Could you give us any more info on this? And how much closer are we to finally getting the curved end of the bar & drink dispenser?

    4. You've hinted at maybe Cantina band members with articulated knees. Is this something that has just been mentioned in passing; or something that is really on the "wishlist"? Having a couple of cantina band members with the omni box set up and the gasan string drums would really finish out our SEVEN piece band!!

    5. Are there any plans to update any of the older "co-star" type figures from early in the POTF2 lines, such as: Admiral Ackbar, Nien Numb, Capt. (Admiral) Piett, Wicket & Logray, etc. (seems most from that line have already been updated)?

    6. Since we have a Clone with "thigh articulation" what are the chances of a new Sandtrooper with "thigh articulation" to either sit on our existing Dewback or an updated version of the Dewback?

    Re: Hasbro\'s STAR WARS Bi-Weekly Q&A Session - Part 3

I have a few playset questions:

    1. Will we ever see a new Geonosis Battle Arena? There hasn't been one of those since 2002.
    2. And if that does happen, will we see pillars to lock Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan too?
    3. The old battle beasts are fine, but it would be nice to get an Acklay without those guts.
    4. And finally, that would mean we need more Clone Troops from that Episode.

    Posting mine again......

Seeing that the KOTOR characters scored super highly in the fans choice last year would you say that 2007 will see more then just Reven or will 2008 be more likley for characters like Bastila Shan?

Curto, please don't send in the redundant questions about large vehicles, playsets, beasts, and other general nonsense.

I try to skip questions that have already been answered, or that I can answer myself...and pick out the ones that are the most interesting.

But all questions are good to ask here in this thread. I try to keep up with them all, so post away!

What are chances of seeing new versions of ANH Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru, and Medal Ceremony Leia, improved to current figure standards? I missed out on Owen and Beru back in the POTF2 days. Ceremony Leia could really use it, and by the way, a Ceremony Han to go with her (finally!) would be great after all these years!
Most Wanted Figure: ESB Carbonite Han. A really good, proper one of Han as he was being lowered into the carbonite pit, with both sets of binders and the new two part block. I've been waiting for 33 years!

    Dear Hasbro,

It seems clear that, while most of your figures and accessories come directly from Lucasfilm source material, you occasionally branch off in your own direction (with Lucasfilm approval). You also mentioned in a recent Q and A that we would eventually see some diversity in our Original Trilogy troopers:

"YN: With the wide variety of Clone Trooper colors, my stormtrooper contingent is looking rather drab in comparison. Given that it's possible that "just offscreen" there might have been some elite stormtrooper squads (like the blackhole troopers) that had coloring other than white and black? Have you given any thought to making a camoflauge deco stormtrooper, or a red royal guard stormtrooper or other types of colorful markings?

H: In measured steps, I think you will see us look at some of these kinds of troopers and we are open minded. But we have no specifics on release dates or figures to discuss just yet."

My question is this: If in fact we will one day see some diversity in the Original Trilogy Trooper figures (color, ranking, style, ...?), will this be based upon your original ideas being okay'ed by Lucasfilm? Or, will changes to Original Trilogy Trooper figures be based on possible 'adjustments' being made to the Original Trilogy in preparation for a rerelease/re-edit? Simply put, will we one day see changes to the Original Trilogy films to reflect diversity in the Stormtroopers that will then be reflected in your figure line-up? Or, IF we get different Original Trilogy Troopers, will they just be based on your own concepts and ideas wherein Lucasfilm said, Sure, why not?"?

    Thanks,
    Dan
You came in that? You're braver than I thought.
